Probably my favorite ship ever is the Century-class, which has barely made any appearance anywhere. It isn't on any TV series, nor is it in STO. The reason I like it is because it combines elements from the rest of my favorite ships into a single model. It's sleek, elongated, and streamlined with an elliptical saucer like…
Perhaps I should have paid more attention to those polls. It seems the Devs must have. I am shocked that the Nebula is more popular than the Nova class, which, granted, isn't as obscure. I'm not gonna start a war over it. In fact, I'll probably pick up the bundle eventually anyway, because those KDF and Rom ships look very…
Personally, I'd have rather seen something inspired by the Perception http://www.wolfsshipyard.com/yards/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2852&view=next or Century-class starships. http://orig12.deviantart.net/e705/f/2014/032/3/f/century_class_by_admiral_horton-d74q5vg.png What we received is probably the biggest aesthetic…
If it were true that Fleet Dilithium requirements were a money grab from Cryptic, they'd make more use of dilithium sinks instead of rerunning the CC event, spitting out bonus dil weekends, and releasing low-requirement fleet holdings. At this point, while the amount of Fleet Credit turnout is a definite hit, it seems like…
Exactly how much damage/extra threat is necessary on top of the Attract Fire CC and "Threatening Stance"? Also, I run strategist in space as a secondary spec, which I believe also bolsters threat to some degree. I don't know much about tanking since its my least played specialty, but I assumed it wouldn't take too much…
I'll start with my favorites actually. The Möbius is still one of the most attractive nonconventional designs in the game for me. And it's even better with the skins from the other temporal ships. Slap some red antiproton cannons on it and the Aeon skin and it feels like a space borne Blackbird. Really nice. Nova and…
Nova 260%. Sovereign next. Reasoning: Need more science ships and I've been wanting an endgame Nova since T6 became the endgame. Here, I'll even save you the trouble of stats: Equinox-class Science vessel [T6] Hull: 29,700 @ 50, 36,000 @ 60 Admiralty: 32 Tac, 18 Eng, 58 Sci // +10 Tac per TacShp Shield Mod: 1.3 BOffs: Cmdr…
Very true, and in fairness I did completely ignore the eternal in the OP, but is the argument that, since the Eternal exists, we shouldn't be allowed to have more nice things? Because that's never been a theme of STO. Right now, science-oriented starships are the sparsest of vessels in the game for all factions (even the…
This is my Fed Science Main, named Kane. He's a Kilon from the Andromeda Galaxy. The Kilons will be featured in my upcoming Foundry release, "Days of Future Past". EDIT: And yes, I wish I had a cooler picture.
You shouldn't get Fleet Beam Arrays. Since the Upgrade system was introduced, you'll be better off investing in endgame weapons ASAP. Go on the exchange and look for beams with a lot of [CrtD] and [CrtH] if you PvE. Mark # doesn't matter, because upgrading really isn't too expensive, as long as you can be patient. The…
I just want to say that when I made this post, I was only commenting on the direction we've been going. I'm not *****ing about it (though as a grindie, it does hurt rather than help me). But while all you out there are preaching of a dilithium sink on the horizon... What incentive does cryptic really have to add another…
What I don't understand is, yes, it'd be another project to develop for implementation that isn't new content, but its still a resource that can be sold in-game, eh? Same train of thought for respec tokens regarding Captain Specializations. The mechanic for resetting skill points in STO already exists...why not change up…
Chanting the Klingon Anthem, playing dirty and shouting "Die, to'Ba! Eat lead, you insufferable PetaQ!" and other such phrases at my enemies as I plow through them with a batleth. Qapla'!
The best way to level from 50 to 60, in my experience, is to not set it as a goal. Think about all the other things you could be doing with your game time - Dilithium Grind, Reputation Levelling, Crafting/Doffing...the XP will come naturally on its own. I have 1 character of 6 (3 DRecruits) that's at 60, and honestly, its…
I love the Star Cruiser, but I utilized the skin by purchasing a "Mirror Universe Assault Cruiser" from the exchange for a small amount of EC. I couldn't afford the prime one with Dilithium. That ship was gold to me for a very long time on my Fed alt. I stocked my beloved "space whale" with the traditional "3 beams + 1…
Wait, it works? I tried it but it seemed like simply flying through the sectors didn't fulfill the missions. I ended up flying through the nimbus sector, entering the nimbus system and after that I just have up. :/
Be greatful you have broken barrier 1, my child. I can't even load up to character selection! My client crashed on the snazzy new "Star Trek Online: The Iconian War" loading screen. Of course, I'm also still using the pre-Arc launcher.
I'm totally psyched for the KDF. The ship looks nice, and anything remotely good for them makes me feel good. The Fed one looks ugly as sin, which is a downright shame, because my main (Fed) is going to specialize in Pilot. I'm partly worried about the Romulans, but I highly doubt the devs would pass them up. Keep…
I thought they said they were going to be enhancing the difficulty system? In my opinion, the scaling is working as intended but the rewards nowhere near compensate for the challenge. Drops should be slightly more frequent and guaranteed blue Mk XIII or above for level 60 players, imo.
> Iconians attempt a power play on the galaxy 200,000 years prior to the events of STO. They are subsequently defeated by an unknown force at some point close to this time. > 200,000 years later, Iconians return for vengeance. The powers of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants create the joint Delta Alliance as a response. The…
Behold the solution to all of our problems. But of course Cryptic would never do such a thing. Look at all the nerfs to come along in the last 2 years alone. Think of all the instances when buffing everything else was the obvious correct decision.
