I tried sending this in a message...but yea here we go! [Name]: STO - Boldly Going! https://www.youtube.com/c/ketwolski [Dates]:At least weekly, if not more. [Description]: YouTube content creator who lives and breathes all things Trek. Ketwolski works to spread the good word about Star Trek, keeping fan discussions…
Would it be weird if they swapped the events one year? Have Q run a summertime event somewhere and winter on Risa? Building sand-snowmen on Risa and watching Q wear singlasses while drinking from a coconut sounds like a fun way to mix things up
[quote="kyle223cat;13140116"]http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Canon I found this, though it doesn't say specifically what is considered canon. It does say that it is "generally defined as all released television series and feature films since the release of Star Trek: The Animated Series on DVD."[/quote] Yea this article…
Cross-Faction: Surface Tension. I enjoyed the diplomatic elements, voice acting and also the destruction of ESD. To me, flying towards ESD in a field of destroyed ships was a visual I truly enjoyed. Most-Rom: Blood of the Ancients. First real taste for ground combat against the Iconian threat. I remember playing this…
You are correct; I read the description for the Oslo and just assumed it was an upgraded version of the Norway Class...it has some similar physical characteristics but thats it. #mybad.
I'm excited that its finally 2411 in game; but tbh it should be something like 2430 at this point...so much stuff has happened in-game...feels like 20 years no 2 lol
Agreed. I dont see why they think crafting needs to be revamped again. I just found this in the news archive...it hasnt been that long since crafting was revamped. Other portions of the game should be tweaked first, IMO. http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/5007693
Example: TNG ep Qpuid shows Data getting penetrated by a simple arrow; Star Trek: First Contact shows him practically bullet proof. Thats a contradiction within what you define as 'common sense canon'. But they are making their own canon questionable within these 2 scripts...forcing me as a viewer to sit here and say…
Now we are starting to understand each other a bit better I think. :) I said the above quote in an earlier post...and my question right now is: is it more accurate to say that there is no canon in 'Star Trek' because Para/CBS hasn't declared anything, and there's so many different takes on this topic?
I like that idea a lot; reminds me a lot of the Xindi structure from ENT, like you mentioned. That would actually be a fun story arc to play through...perhaps something akin to Archers attempt at stopping the weapon by getting certain Xindi factions to join forces with starfleet. That would allow for fun diplomatic…
Easy does it. And sure, why not? There could be a parallel universe where everyone on earth evolved into giant turtles (or this case, beamed into an alternate universe if I understand the bit of text below the picture....its hard to read for me.) Why cant that be considered soft-canon if it was never explicitly denied in…
http://sto.gamepedia.com/Heavy_Escort#Oslo_class Norway was introduced as the Oslo variant of that ship. As for a T6 NX class ship...iirc there was some chatter of a prototype flying around tribble. But I'm not 100% certain
I haven't seen anything that states what is and isn't canon (is it canon or cannon?) from Paramount/CBS....the Startrek.com website only lists out the films/tv shows but nothing on there that says 'this our official canon list'. So is it fair to say that there is no canon? Only different interpretations on events? I mean…
This is a great topic to discuss! :) Can we re-focus this discussion here? http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/1226957/star-trek-canon-is-sto-official
I believe that unless Paramount and/or CBS states that the TV and film are the only canon sources then its kind up to the fans own interpretation. I understand the need for canon but I just disagree with your assessment as to what is and is not canon. :) Again, I dont wanna turn this thread into this discussion about this…
I would disagree with that...I feel like STO tries harder to stick more in canon then the 'planet of the apes' crossover stuff. And thus makes it much closer to being actually considered canon by most fans. Has paramount/CBS ever stated what is and is not canon? or do we as fans just accept the TV/films as canon only?
Well thats disappointing to hear...I'm going to considered it canon for my own personal view but in the future I will be sure to preface that in my vids. A better title for this topic would be 'What we know at Tzentheki so far' lol
I guess my take on 'canon' is different :) I believe that the novels and description from the writer is the best take on a 'canon' description we can get prior to STO's involvement. Has it been stated officially anywhere that STO isnt official 'canon' for the Trek Universe? I thought STO was the only thing still producing…
I guess there are 2 concepts behind the designs for the Tzenkethi 1. "Uh, they became mosquitoes in the later books? Bah. Heavily armored lizard things FTW." -Robert Hewitt Wolfe 2. "Externally humanoid, but internally quite different. Their skeleton is made up of several fluid-filled sacs, which can be contracted and…
"When a Tzenkethi falls, sometimes their backpacks remain in a powered state. This allows nearby Tzenkethi to reuse the incredible restorative power from it until the backpack’s power reserves are depleted." So even their dead brothers in arms will still be a tactical threat on the ground? Fun. I'm actually looking forward…
I make the occasional lets play on my channel but dont spend too much time really 'explaining' stuff to the viewers. I subbed you and tweeted your latest vid out :) Be sure to check out Teacher Kirby and STOUnrefined for ideas on future vids!
