So in the newest Priority One Podcast, at 1:20:00 ish, Gekco mentions that the new mission with Rodek takes place in 2411

THE TIMELINE HAS FINALLY MOVED!

We have now officially passed the 2 year mark for the timeline of in-game events.

Also some fun facts
-They considered making a Delta Rising mission dealing with the Voyager episode threshold. But it got cut because they couldn't weave it into the story.
-GECKO himself compared the novelverse Tzenkethi with kif from Futurama
-PVP and Crafting are the two biggest things they are looking at in terms of revamps

    Hrmm..may have to give it a listen...as I'm curious as to just what sort of "revamp" Crafting will possibly get....Thanks for the info =)

    Oh...wow...both would be MUCH welcomed I'm sure. I would think being able to choose mods when upgrading would be a BIG QOL thing, as it is there are so many things it *could be*, but for me- more often than not it's what I don't want it to be 95% of the time. Thanks for the "heads up"/info.

    Don't get your hopes up for that one.
    Knowing cryptic it's gonna be another huge dil sink whith a whole lot of randomness attached to it. In the end it's probably gonna be some "reroll X mod(s) for X thousands dil" type of thing.

    Though crafting kit modules sounds good and the potential of TRIBBLE us over with that one is pretty low.

    If it cost the same as it does now on average to get your perfect mod, but is a lot more convenient then blowing through dozens or hundreds of crafting proccesses and discarding the failures, it would be a worthy improvement, I think.

    Kits?! Who needs kits!? I want to choose mods on consoles & weapons when crafting, not kits. :(

    nah, the best way to "fix" the timeline is at some point have a timeskip where we are stuck flying a desk for a while. then say "alright things take as long as you think they should as long as your return to space duty is X years after the start."

    if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

    For those of you who want to know what GECKO's comments about PVP were

    He was asked in a hypothetical what he wanted for PVP, and he made clear this was just his personal ideas, and not any sort of development plan or anything, but he said he wanted more objective based PVP.

    His example included a scenario where both teams have to do something like rescue a number of civilians, and both teams had a safe zone area where they could do that, but between the two teams was a more grey area where you could also complete objectives, but you would be far more open to getting attacked by the enemy team there.

    That way people can play PVP, without having to exactly do the more hardcore combat against better players part a lot of people don't like about PVP, but still contribute to PVP in general.
    Might be nice. Depends entirely on rewards if most players would play it, though. Current PvP rewards lose horribly to pretty much everything PvE.

    Turnabout Intruder wasn't a great note to go out on, either, but Spock's Brain or Catspaw are definitely worse. It's a bit of a shame they didn't just stop at All Our Yesterdays.

    I'm excited that its finally 2411 in game; but tbh it should be something like 2430 at this point...so much stuff has happened in-game...feels like 20 years no 2 lol
