This happened to me after a crash. I did a verify and it was all messed up, so I turned verify off and put "on demand" patching to ON. It downloaded TOS again and I was able to get back in. It seems the TOS stuff only takes hold with the "on demand" patching activated.

To get a good gauge of the amount of damage, you need to do appropriate content (10K dps will not cut it on elite content). The cloud does not happen off weapon activation, it is a result of the torpedo exploding. Fire the torpedo and miss your target to see if the cloud happens off of activation. I hope this was helpful in clarifying how this works?
Question: Will the changes made help the development staff perform more efficiently? As in tracking down "skill" related bugs faster and fixing them with less downtime. If it does, how will it achieve this?
A workaround was found for this (not saying it don't need to be fixed.. just saying there is a way to get your ship back). - claim a new ship (if you have a slot available) or discharge and reclaim a ship you don't care about.
