Would it be possible to set up standing Specializations for space and ground. Because having Pilot active is worthless on the ground. And Commando is worthless in space. So if I could have them set separately for both areas, it would be deeply useful. So as I beam down to ground it automatically shifts.
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
Why was it decided to put hangar pet buffs in the skill tree, rather than in its own full blown specialization? It makes more sense IMHO for something so specialized to be a spec, rather than a small selection of skills.
This was answered (thanks a bunch!), but follow-up question:
Does the existence of hangar pet skills rule out the possibility of a Carrier Specialization at some point down the line?
Any possibility of a game-wide balance pass after the system goes live? It addresses many issues but a few still remain and may even become worse after the revamp.
Did y'all consider separating the mechanics of atleast some powers to behave differently in PVE and PVP? Is this even possible?
Question: Will the changes made help the development staff perform more efficiently? As in tracking down "skill" related bugs faster and fixing them with less downtime. If it does, how will it achieve this?

Squishing Bugs for a better future
Can't wait to see what happens with the pet skills (even if they're not exactly pet skills anymore...) when the change Bort talked about goes to Tribble. This can really shake builds up, depending on how exactly teammate buffs stack.
And I'm glad us escort carrier fans have allies in high places

I think the way Borticus normalized everything, it probably makes it easier on him to spot bugs. Basically, in the case of science control/part gens/drain skill, groups of abilities use the same equation and they depend on one or two variables, and vary by one constant.
I guess it would also make it easier on him when adding things.
The livestream was hilarious... the 50% delay, the huge echo, the Newspeak, the trolling, Borticus befriending Dental, the trolling players behind the skillstree, Borticus getting frustrated with having to "confirm" every single new skill... definitely worth having popcorn
I was at work and missed most of it did you save it or are these one-offs?
They'll post a link to the video eventually.

I have many toons. And it took lots of effort the last years to build/tweak them. Specific skill setting for specific builds an toons.
Hours of hours work en ZEN to get where I am today.
Now in ONE stroke all those many hours of work en investments are WIPED OUT. Because there is no skill setting conversion tool, to keep builds in tact.
Borticus says all builds can be replicated easily. He says I encourage experimenting with the new skill tree. You even get 2 free tree reset tokens (per toon). You first can try on Tribble. Rationalizing the pain. If conversion is so easy I would expect a skillpoint/skill-tree conversion tool.
I tried to rebuild ONE toon. Took me many hours. Had to spend many respec tokens and still not satisfied with my Tribble toon.
I am not happy with the consequences and problems thrown on me this skill-tree revamp is causing. This revamp ruins all my builds.
And then the messages is broadcast-ed that I have to solve it all myself. Buying skill points experimenting hours and hours and days and days to get my builds in the same state as they were before the revamp.
Please give me a build/toon conversion tool or a solution, and I can live with the skill revamp.
If the fun in this game is gone and If it starts feeling like work and solving problems others create, I loose interest in this game I played many years.
To me it seems a bad policy, wanting to attract new players to the game by slapping loyal long term customers in the face, by wiping out their work (builds) and hours of work customers have invested in their builds, by creating a big problem for all currently existing builds.
And instead of solving the issue for the customer, say to the customer: you have to solve the problem we created yourself. And saying please buy respec tokes again because all the money spend on respec tokens in the past is WIPED. Also regardless if you have spend 10 respect tokens in the past to build a toon, you only get 2 now.
And saying to to the customer, if you make a re-skilling mistake, you cannot undo (that is to difficult for us to program). Just buy a new respec token and try again.
Please also consider this is not just 1 customer who is affected, but all customers are affected.
It is very easy to understand the new system, if you are honestly so dependant on other people to build your characters then perhaps you should go back to playing solitaire. I'm not being rude I'm just being honest.

I'd go with obnoxious.

My apologies for not bottle feeding a full grown adult. I've been playing this game since i was thirteen and never had an issue figuring it out so people whining about not knowing how to convert their skill trees is just stupid. I'll wager most of them haven't even been on Tribble to look at it, I have and it is NOT difficult to translate a build if you put five minutes of effort into it.
It isn't an issue of knowledge it's one of laziness.

If it is so simple as you state to replicate a toon/build, than please have my skill point pre-set proper by default to replicate my build. So I do not have to try to rebuild my toons from scratch again.

Again if it is so easy to translate a build. Please have that done by default. Replicating a non-optimized build is easy. But replicating an optimized build is not so straight forward.
It is not only the skill points system that is impacted. But also in combination with traits, consoles etc because everything has dependencies. I am not the developer. I do not have an overview of what the exact changes are to algorithms, formulas, dependenties. I have no conversion tables etc. So leaves me with trial and error.
Also the scale of skill point one can spend per skill is more rough. (Was 9 settings is now maximum 3 settings per skill)

On the contrary, your remark is rude. It is not about understanding how to put a skill point and reading tekst that goes with it. I do understand the old system as well. For truly understanding the new system a complete documentation is required of the used algorithms, dependencies, relations etc.

They said per character.
Per character, as such from what they said:
Auto reset when 11.5 hits
1 Free Respec token per character
Squishing Bugs for a better future
Like that we get two free resprecs also.

Instead I did my 7 Breach runs and only had to report 5 AFKers.
