I did republish without taking it down as was suggested up-thread. I'll be getting reviews for each of the missions done as I find time to do them over the weekend and such.
The only review of my mission so far is that a player was unable to find the starting location. Pulling it down to resolve that issue and putting it right back up again. If this disqualifies me from the challenge I'm not terribly bothered, this is my first attempt at a mission and I value the feedback I could potentially…
Actually putting it at 11pm is pretty darn convinent as most nights I turn in close to midnight (so you'd be catching me shortly before bed instead of while I seept). I hope that works out for everyone else.
Heads up, that time is 3am for me (Currently doing a masters at University of Nottingham Ningbo China). I cannot gaurentee I'll make it for the meeting, but planning sessions like that can be hard to schedual around me.
Had an idea, and I think it should be theoretically possible but I wanted to see if anyone here could tell me if it was genius or insane: Basically for one of the Borg missions, have a Borg vessle appear and hail the player. Through dialogue trees give the player a choice between attempting to find a diplomatic answer or…
Ricky's idea sounds awesome, and I definately like the idea of giving the players a choice and using the player reviews to organize future messages. I think about what could be the growing crisis looming from my side is. I mean it could be as simple as "do we focus our energy on the Borg or (issue X way over there).…
I was basing those ideas off the one he just recently shared. >J'mpok launches an attack against the wormhole aliens. Now, If that is the case the Borg wont know about it for a good long time because they haven't encountered the Dominion or the wormhole aliens yet. >Contribution to the thread: Perhaps he uses the transwarp…
To the best of my knowledge, the collective has yet to encounter the Dominion, it is only a matter of time before they do, though they do not seem to have done so yet. The Collective's interest in the Alpha quadrant is still largely based on the fact that they are encountering resistance and that means that the races of…
While that definately sounds fun to work with from the writing side, I'm not sure how well it would work form the player's side of things. The Borg work best applying the rules of the horror genre to them, keeping them in the shadows and lurking just out of reach. Ground maps where they're suspect of being present and…
Judging from what is in the thread already, my guess on the answers is: 1) Dark has said he's putting together a small web forum to use to wiki our missions and discuss events which connect them, but that the story-telling behind the missions is something of a round table. One author presents Episode 1, and the next…
Darn... I had a funny idea for a mission in which a Borg sphere was disabled by an infestation of carnivorous tribbles that would then attack the players when one of them got cut on something. I'm guessing there is no reliable way to make your Bridge officers go missing one by one either is there? I can probably think of a…
Mission Title: Do Cyrstal Spiders Dream? (subject to change) Your @Handle: @Heissenburg Faction: Federation Level Requirement: unknown Mission Summary: Your ship has been called to the edge of Romulan space to perform a routine scientific survey when you learn that the Vulcan freighter T'Sai has gone missing. With no other…
I had earlier on in the thread, I'm only concerned that I lack the experience as a foundry author to keep up with everyone else. I don't have anything publshed yet and two projects in the works, I'll let the team here know when my first works are out for consideration (they aren't currently Borg related, though one of them…
The Borg could only have one response to the Iconians: An all purpose push to assimilate that technology for themselves. I could even see them pretending to offer alliances to various other factions as part of their own push towards that goal... I would particularly be interested to see how the Undine would respond to an…
I'll start working on maps in a place holder project and generating ideas based on the opening Story (or stories). I might have to play around with the costume editor to see if it is possible to customize Borg drones at all, though I suspect it will not be. Using the example for the moment: The klingons lauch an offensive…
Good point, I was thinking a bit too much from the point of view of a player having done too many STFs recently. That just gives me a more focused directive behind any story telling I might do with them, and a potential reason for them to attempt some sort of guile. Still, I'm not sure the team wants a complete amateur on…
I am a brand new Foundry author, currently working on my first 2 missions. I'd like to know more about the basic idea behind the persistent story being developed before I say that I'm in for sure, but I would be interested in looking at it from the perspective of the Collective (eiter the renegade group Lore took over for…
