I agree with most things said here. At the moment the new BZ is definitely not fun. I don't mind hard challenges, in fact I enjoy them quite a lot, but this BZ is not challenging, it is simply just annoying. In almost all of the TBZs I have played thus far the battle eventually resulted in a stalemate. Captured zones get…
I disagree in parts. Cryptic introduced the Dil-Exchange as a reasonable option for F2Plers to aquire Zen. At the moment it is simply not reasonable. And while it is also the fault of the players it is in part also Cryptics fault, since they failed to keep the two currencies halfway balanced in the game. At the moment Zen…
Good ideas, especially the crafting. But simply changing mods as you like would be way to powerful. Rolling the last applied upgrade back would be more balanced. Remove the last added mod (Dil-price depending on rarity and MK level) so you can try again using more tech upgrades. Tech points are set back to 0 TP and 0%…
Raising the refine-cap would not solve the problem but make it worse. By now F2Plers are able to get enough Dil to reach the refine-cap in a more or less decent amount of time and still have enough time to actually play the game. Due to the current price the Dil they get by grinding however is simply not enough to get…
Where do you think do new players who buy Zen for real money come from? They are players that started as F2Plers. From there they either stay grinding Dil, they stop playing or they become players who actually spent real money because they are tired of grining and thus create profit for Cryptic. They need the F2Plers to…
The active duty things are not that spectacualar, but they are quite decent for assignments. One of them (geologist) is AFAIK the best DOFF for raising the birds on Risa, so you have a better chance getting the rare versions and thus more marks. The other one (entertainer) is pretty decent for matching DOFF assignments as…
Let me cite Cryptics reason for introducing the Dil Exchange: By now Dil is way to easy to come by and thus it has very low value and there is no trend that this will change soon. You can use the same reason behind enabeling players to trade Dil for Zen to trade Dil for Lobi. Open up the market and let players decide it…
Like I've said before, an interesting way would be to add a new market to trade lobi for dil. That way you would draw a lot of dil away from the F2P players, since it a great way for them to get lobi stuff without opening lockboxes or spending vast amounts of EC on the Ex, they would be able to buy the lobi consoles and…
The problem is, that the game needs a new, more or less constant Dil-sink. Introducing new stuff to buy for Dil (new holdings, items etc.) might work for a short time but once everyone has catched up we are back at the same problem. So the game needs a sink that will constantly draw dil away from the Dil-Exchange.
That's the main issue. Any long term solution would make Cryptic sell less Zen for real money, which of course they are unlikely to do. Any other dil-sink (holdings, sellable (cosmetic) dil-items etc.) will only work for a short time until the market is saturated and they become so cheap that selling Dil for Zen is a…
They are not ships but cards you use in the admiralty system, which is unlocked once you reach Lvl 52. If you already at Lvl 52 you should be able to activate and use them in the admiralty system. Promotional items will always appear in the C-store prom-page as purchased so you can reclaim them in case you accidentally…
I think a pretty interesting way to open up the market would be to introduce another market that allows to trade dilithium for lobis. That way there would be two directions the dilithium will flow (zen and lobi), which would lower the prices for zen and also allows for interesting dynamics within the economy. E.g. every…

The announced trait raised the hope that the T6 Defiant might be finally a good option for cannon lovers. After the release of the stats that has changed. The boff-layout is ... managable, not good but at least better than the Hestia. But the 4/3 layout was the final nail in the coffin. If the ship would have come with 5/2…
I don't even know if this was actually the final giveaway. On the german STO homepage it says "Eine Woche voller Geschenke" (A week full of presents) and we are still one giveaway short of that full week, as long as the Hoover B.... I mean "Future Flyer" does not count as one of them.
According to the german STO site todays giveaway is Excelsior Retrofit T5, Ar'Kif Retrofit T5 and Marauder Retrofit T5. (http://www.arcgames.com/de/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/9618953-eine-woche-voller-geschenke)
It will defenitely not satisfy me, because I think the Defiant is one of the ugliest ships in the whole galaxy. Even if the T6 Valiant turned out to be an uber-escort (even though I highly doubt that) and someone would give it to me for free, I still won't fly it if it looks remotely like the Defiant.
An uni BOFF is nice, but it is still only an ensing, which only gets you so far. And the ship still suffers from the Hybrid slot sitting on the only Engine-BOFF-Slot. If they move the Hybrid to the Tac instead of Eng or upgrade the Universal to a Ltd (or even LtdCom) it might be worth my zen, but not the way the ship is…
I would not say that "better" is the right word, I would rather say "more adaptable". I will not deny that there are some very good builds that can work just fine with the Hestia, but the number of viable builds is rather small compared to other ships. If you change the BOFF setup to the setup nearly everyone wants (Ensing…
Yeah, and by lending itself to "other avenues" it becomes useless for what most people would want to use it for. A little more flexible BOFF setup would make this ship still usefull for "other" builds while making it also suitable for it's role as an escort, which are after all ships primeraly for Tac Captains. I can see…
That is also my main problem. Every T6 ship (beside the Excelsior) has an universal slot, most of them better than ensing. And the hybrid slot is almost always not on a station that has only one option (like here the single eng slot). So what's the point of breaking that rule with this ship (and the T6 Excelsior)?…
To Do List to make this ship acually worth the 3000 Zen for me: 1. Make the Ensing-Tac an universal BOFF Slot, maybe even upgrade it to a Lt Universal (Seriously, why do almost all T6 ships get an universal slot, some even get two (one a LtC) and this gets NONE?) 2. Make the Lt-Tac a Lt-Tac/Com instead of the LtC-Eng/Com…
So this is a refitted newer version of the MVAE that "takes advantage of the Multi-Vector capabilities of its predecessor" but apparently can't even separate if you don't use the MVA-console from the T5 variant on it? That, together with the crappy BOFF setup (Ensing Tac???) and no Pilot station has changed this ship from…
