What about the help for small fleets with starbase advancement that you promised? We still aren't able to meaningfully advance. Also, please do not require players to install Arc. I will probably stop playing if I'm required to install that proprietary ad-delivery and datamining program.
I'm going to toss out another idea to improve the ability for small fleets to progress their starbase. Create different size fleet limits. The default now is 500, but let's have multiple member limits. Maybe 100, 250, and 500 are good to start. All existing fleets and newly created fleets select what their limit is. This…
This would help. Perhaps you buy a dilithium surplus boost that works just like the fleet mark boost, pay for it with fleet credits, and the surplus can only be used on Starbase projects. In my small fleet, we're rolling in extra fleet credits but we're starved for dilithium and fleet marks, and being able to put them back…
Increasing the discount is a good first step. However, this still doesn't make starbase advancement significantly easier for small fleets, as Stahl promised in several interviews.
Except you're missing the point. The members of my fleet ARE willing to work just as hard. Each single member of my fleet is willing to work just as hard as each single member of a 500 person fleet, yet it will take us far, far longer to get the same rewards they get for the same effort. The people in the 500 person fleet…
Cryptic seems to be missing the point of fleets entirely. The purpose of the fleet system should first and foremost be social. People form guilds in MMOs for all sorts of reasons, and there are all sorts of guilds, raiding guilds, RP guilds, guilds for people with something in common outside of the game, friends and family…
A lot of small fleets don't WANT to be large fleets. My fleet is a friends and family fleet. I don't want to recruit strangers. My fleet will never be big, and I don't want it to be big. There are A LOT of fleets like mine, and the current system basically says, "Sorry, starbase advancement isn't for you."
This guy was awful. He talked incessantly and didn't read or listen to the tutorial, then wondered why he didn't understand how to do something. Watching him play was really annoying. Honestly, he made STO look bad. He didn't even say that you have to follow the channel to be eligible to win until after he already finished…
Agreed. Stahl has said in several interviews that starbase progression would be made easier for small fleets, then said that change would come with this holding. It doesn't seem to me that this holding helps small fleets at all. I agree, the discount should be at least 15%, if not more. Also I think dilithium costs for the…
I agree with this. Remove dilithium costs from projects and raise the discount slightly, and if the mining dailies are any good (2000-5000 dilithium per day) then it would actually live up to the promise of helping small fleets.
I decided to do the same as my previous post for FM cost. Same disclaimers as my previous post apply. Tier 1: 8 x 420 FM = 3360 FM Tier 2: 14 x 630 FM = 8820 FM Tier 3: 28 x 840 FM = 23520 FM Track Upgrade 1: 1890 FM Track Upgrade 2: 5250 FM Track Upgrade 3: 10500 FM Total for one track: 53340 FM Total for both tracks:…
I just did some math based on the numbers I'm seeing come out of Tribble. It looks like it will take approximately 4824000 dilithium to max out both Trade and Development, which is required for getting the mine itself to T3. Upgrading the mine itself does not cost any dilithium. Here's the math if you want to check it.…
Seriously? Only 9% total discount, and it costs millions of dilithium to get to that point? When Stahl said in interviews on podcasts that the next holding would make starbase advancement easier on small fleets, I imagined something a good bit more substantial than this.
Overall, this is a fantastic patch, and overall, the expansion is fantastic and I'm loving it and playing quite a lot. I know you've been hard at work with this stuff. I'm pleased to see that you're fixing almost every major problem I've noticed in the expansion. However, there are two quite notable absences. First, the…
Wow, this is amazing. I'm really thankful that you find such happiness and pleasure in this game. I'm in a completely different situation. I'm relatively young and I work a pretty demanding manual labor job. I enjoy my job, but I look forward to coming home at the end of the day and relaxing and playing STO. Thanks, devs,…
I agree completely. Fixing this DOff imbalance would eliminate the majority of complaints about the mail stealth nerf AND one major complaint about fleet advancement simultaneously. Please don't wait to implement this fix in the next content release, do it NOW. A lot of headaches would be immediately alleviated.
So, now that I take a closer look, it seems that the color scheme has changed. It's definitely NOT an indicator of base DOff system/Gamma Quadrant Expansion any more. It looks to me like the only criterion for gold vs green is that green indicates an assignment with a particularly high value reward (usually CXP, but…
According to the person who designed this system, this is intentional behavior. The department head provides recommendations based on highest chance of success, not highest chance of critical success. Since they are calculated differently, there are different candidates that are best for success and different candidates…
