OOC: Glad to see this picked up again, though I was hoping someone would pull something random out of their pocket for the fun of it. Since no one did here is the resolution of Q Far away on Vulcan, about 2000 years ago. Surak was hungry. He had been out in Vulcans Forge for some time and had eaten all of his provisions.…
OOC: discharged another BOFF and have updated the bio's. Donkyhotay sat back in his command chair trying to get comfortable. No matter what he did it was uncomfortable to sit in. His crew was making the inaugural test flight of the U.S.S. Rose 'N Ant - F. Many systems still weren't finished and wouldn't be for some time…
Just realized I posted in the wrong forums. Anyways thanks for the advice, I was pretty certain it wasn't worth it but that plasma hyperflux like it it would be so cool on a BFAW beamboat if it weren't for needing to install a torp.
Unbeknownst to the others, Q was paying attention to the goings on in this universe. He considered all the mischief he could do but knew he had to be careful to avoid the attention of the rest of the Q continuum. They would stop his fun, especially Q who seemed to be so fascinated by humans for some reason. He pondered his…
OOC: had to discharge a BOFF, rather then updating the bio I figured including the story behind the discharge would work better Donkyhotay looked up in surprise when he heard the door chime. The ship was practically deserted and had been for almost month now while the crew was enjoying the festivities on Risa. Only the…
Here are the bio's for my other characters. I rarely play them so have not made bio's for their bridge officers. Tharo - Alien Science Officer Tharo comes from a minor planet that was recently conquered by the Klingon empire. Not being a warrior race, very few members of his species survived the subjucation and those that…
My captains name is Donkyhotay, my ship U.S.S. Rose 'N Ant. If you get the joke of my captains name you'll understand the name of the ship. If you don't... well it really wouldn't be worth explaining.
Thank you for the critique, I can tell I really need to work on better capitalization along with vulcan contractions (I actually didn't know vulcans didn't use contractions). I'm glad that seems to be the biggest issues as they are things I can easily work on. Being my first foundry mission I was concerned about my story…
Thank you for posting the current queue, I appreciate knowing where I am in line. We also understand you have a real life besides STO and that it takes awhile to test everything and I am grateful for the time you do spend doing this.
A good story, I really liked it. the beginning was a little strange but it made sense when the mission proper was introduced. Only real recommendation I would make is to put the initial contact in the mission description. It's too easy to lose it when it's just in the "accept mission" dialog.
you've only had your mission on the forums for two days, that's hardly any time at all. I've had my first mission up for a couple weeks and only have 4 reviews. There are many prospective foundry authors out there but not many people willing to review new missions because there is no DIL reward. If you think your mission…
I'm not certain that could be done, if it can it would require using an outdoor map and then using walls to build a "ship" in the sky and then putting the spawn point up there. If you were good with the triggers you could even have the ship vanish on landing indicating it flying off (otherwise it would be visible in the…
Personally I would just have him named even before he is introduced to the player, that seems to be the way most missions work. If you actually want to change his name without reloading the whole map you use triggers. First have a trigger that makes invisible the romulan scientist at a certain point and then makes visible…
It's only been four days, give it time. Not many people are willing to review new missions because there is no reward for it. My first (and so far only) mission sat around for over a week before getting it's first review. I did however play your mission and here is my review of it. 1. Post the location of the start…
Yeah I'm aware how busy you must be. I just appreciate someone willing to provide critique of missions regardless of how long it takes for them to get to it.
If you read mission postings from others in this forum you'll find there is common format: Name: ID: Author: Faction: Level: Duration: while I admit it's not 100% necessary it does help people (like myself) when browsing through the forums looking for missions to test help decide if we really want to. Also, I would…
Just played your mission, here is my opinion of it: 1. You have many grammar errors, especially contractions. When the mirror universe ships attack "they're" attacking not "their" attacking. They're is short for "they are", while their means it is owned by them. Easy way to remember is if you are using "they're" or "their"…
Just played your mission and here's my opinion: 1. Place the initial contact location within the mission description rather then the hail. When you take a foundry mission you can only view the description and not the hail after you accept. This runs into the (very often for me) possibility of taking a mission, waiting a…
Name: The Writers of History ID: ST-HHSLC2PJA Author: Donkyhotay Faction: Federation Level: Any Duration: 15-45 minutes This is my first mission so I'm quite interested in what people think of it. As I'm certain you've heard from others, thank you for taking your time to review all of these missions.
Personally I prefer story to action. I would much rather have a "wordy" mission with an interesting story then one with lots of combat but lacking in story. If I want lots of combat I'll play a grinder mission. I disagree with remairtamec a little bit. After playing your mission my opinion was that it had too much combat…
I've thought that would be nice too however since almost every mission starts at the transporter in spacedock or qo'nos for each faction it doesn't matter all that much. Of course it's usually the missions that don't start at the same old place that are *usually* the ones with a decent story.
