  • The MACO shield does not benefit from flow caps. http://sto.gamepedia.com/M.A.C.O._(Space)#section_3
  • The 5km rule went away 2 or 3 seasons ago. The new cloaking/thalaron algorithm is not dependent on player distance: Originally Posted by borticuscryptic I don't wanna give away the WHOLE thing, as learning to deal with a Boss Encounter is half the fun of beating them. • Once you buy a C-store ship with Zen, it's yours forever (at least to this point in the game). That said, if they buff the Vesta (i.e. add more hull, secondary deflector, etc.) will be added to the ships you own. Case in point: the recent buff to KDF raiders. All player who already owned the ships received the buff to hull…
  • This make no sense. You survive more in a build that doesn't forgive. FAW is just a bit boring versus parking and mashing the space bar, which is outright boring. But your DHC Scimi requires smarter piloting... to park and smash the space bar. Now I know why your Scimi implodes, cuz its totally conflicted
  • I, for one, bought a wells class for the new SA. I really like the new graphics in addition to the revised stats. I will probably pick up the Vesta too.
  • Changing classes is canon. You're obviously watching the wrong show.
  • If I have 0 points in grav and particle gens, the gav well 3 isn't that great. Also, if I have no points in torps and I shoot them out the back cuz I'm running hi aux, the won't do much either. Point being, if skill points are allocated to abilities that aren't being used, then you can fly like Tom Paris, but your ship is…
  • I see respecs as an obstacle to new ship purchases. Say I'm spec'd for a dps build, that build won't be able to benefit from a Vesta class ship, since most the skill points are allocated to tactical and engineering. Now if I choose to fly a Vesta, I will consider a $5 respec to maximize the sci skills before I spend $25 or…
  • CCE paid 480 dil X 2 (960) for those who did not place. One could see this by looking at the rewards dialogue in their chat window. After S9 and the new rewards window, the "extra" 480 is no longer being paid.
  • NADORC is out of date now that the fleet holdings have everything a player needs (except for the science field generators). But before when crafted consoles were the most powerful, the complaint was they were too expensive. Those who didn't craft didn't understand the odds of criting a VR energy weapons console and…
  • Congrats on your purchase. Check out this post (http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=832281 read all the pages) as it contains a lot of info regarding a wells build and the impact of sci consoles on abilities. The OP claims that particle generators have diminishing returns after a certain point.
  • The suggestion says nothing about certain classes flying certain ships. The character reclass token is to help offset the lost revenue of making respecs free, which assumes that a lot of tokens are sold. Skill point allocation impacts ship and BO performance greatly.
  • I agree with this. The hourlies keep things moving. Some should be eliminated and others can be extended or new events can be added. I like the weekend idea; however, the events should not be exclusive for Friday to Monday as some players may not be able to participate.
  • You will retain all inventory slots. However, your EC cap will go to 10m. You will not earn any extra EC until you purchase the EC cap from the C-Store or drop below 10m.
  • I've seen players hurl out the dps in their borts. Yes it is slow, bit I have learned to control and power slide. Don't buy the pack for the consoles. Just pick the one that matches your play style and go for it. You might also want to try it out on redshirt or tribble, if you can play c-store ships there.
  • This and the DS9 under siege mission.
  • They might have a re-run when the new feature series comes out next month.
  • I can think of a dozen TNG episodes where they came up with a special device (i.e. console) and used it to save the day. ST VI used a special ability (exhaust seeking photon) to kill klinks. Trek is all about special devices and tech, albeit not always tactically centered.
  • Yes. 3 blues will work. You should try farming B'tran colonization for free purple techs.
  • I fly the Krenn Temporal Destroyer and love it. However, KDF has a very restrictive ship selection when it comes to science. I would go for the scimitar which is easier to grind out, has way more dps potential, and has carrier pets. But, if you don't like flying a big 'ol dreadnought, go for the temporal.
  • What I'm saying is, APB is debuffed by your opponents' TT, IIRC. In PVP APB is not as effective as APO.
  • I believe that your APB is negated by tact team, which everyone in PVP runs, or should run. Switch to APO for more bang.
  • Just because the space mission kills you a lot (especially spawn kills) does not mean its challenging.
  • Ahem, "Can I haz your stuff?"

  • You may have seen a pre-patch for the May 21 update.
  • I use the Borg Assimilated console and the Zero-point console from the Task Force Omega and Romulan reputation systems. I also use the Tachyokentic converter from the Lobi store to max out my crits.
  • Fleet ships are useable outside of fleet events, in all areas of STO, except for shuttle missions. Players can purchase fleet ships through their fleet store, given their fleet is of sufficient level. Not everyone flies these ships because they may require fleet modules to purchase (which are expensive) or their fleet…
  • The Doctor ran a simulation in the holodeck confessing his love for Seven and she responded in true holodeck fashion. He then exited the program and decided that the risk was not worth it. His fear of rejection prevented him from saying anything to her. The Doctor's professionalism never stood in the way of portraying the…
  • But the Doc was too afraid (dare I say impotent) to tell Seven he loved her, except for when he thought his program would decompile.
  • Lore's emotions led him to a superiority complex that led to an alliance with the crystalline entity. This is why he was deactivated and Data was created as an "improved model". The Doctor was able to easily expand his "humanity" because he was a hologram run by a starships computer. Data was an independant android that…
