This is incredibly incorrect and quite honestly, offensive. Our old Art Lead left amicably. Please be careful with the falsehoods you choose to pass on.
You will be happy to know that the ship team always wants to add variants. We love variants and customization. If customization doesn't happen it is because time just would not allow. Any chance we can, we advocate to get more parts in your guys' hands. If it was up to me every nacelle could be used on every ship...but…
There would be nothing quick, nor easy, about this suggestion. I would love to go through and add all parts to all ships. But this would be a time-intensive task. Right now our schedule would not allow this. Thanks for the suggestion.
I want to reiterate that we are amazed at the feedback and support in this thread from you guys. We are setting up a new bug reporting workflow for ships and I hope to use this thread as a primary source for issues, on top of our internal list. The work here is going to make our game better. This, of course, does not mean…
Thank you for reporting this! This should not be happening, as it was bugged and fixed. I will check in with QA. Again, thanks! [EDIT] This is fixed and going in with a near future patch!
You sure can. The intel ships share a very similar design language so we transplated all of the nacelles from each ship onto the other Fed intel ships, as well as added a few smaller customization options, like filling in the saucer ring, or covering the sensors.
While the John Eaves concept has slight similarities, it was not used as inspiration. And yes, you can use your other ship hull materials on the intel ships!
These ships are complete from the art side. These discussions could only influence future decisions. With that said, I want to be more vocal with you players as to our visual design intent regardless of the outcome of the discussions that surround it.
Watch the language and tone please. Have a discussion, not a heated argument. The Phantom is much larger then what you are suggesting. You are jumping to conclusions.
The intel ships have been designed from the ground up to look specifically this way. To look different then any other ship design. They have the base mechanics of the regular ships, but have shape language befitting the design. The design of our ships come from a combination of our designers, our art director, the concept…
It's fine, I know coming here will get my case jumped on, I elect to do it. With that said, I am going to keep going back to saying that we know that we have created fed designs that are at the extreme end. But that is by design. We can do plenty of classic canon style ships and again, that is something I personally push…
Because they are something totally different...they may have nacelles, saucers, deflector dishes that look different but they are still fed ships. Just because they don't fit your ideal doesn't mean that is lost. Again, if all our ships looked the same it would not be a good thing for the game. Vehicles can and do vary…
I posted this on Reddit and figured it was apt here. Just a little nugget of information to chew on, we design ships for everyone, not for 1 specific group of people. I love the shapes and lines of canon Star Trek ships, but there are plenty, some might say tons, of players that enjoy designs that stray from the standard…
Relax. Standing in front of a huge crowd making sure you give all the right information will make you forget your own name much less a made up race of beings. Brad is incredibly knowledgeable about Star Trek whether you want to believe it or not.
