So if I want to play Valve games I need Steam? And if I want to play EA games I need Origin? And in the future, if I want to play Cryptic games I'll need Arc? That's not going to work in the long run is it? How many launchers/shop-fronts/spy/bloatware apps do you think your customers need? I know a lot of publishers are…
Yours certainly looks a lot more durable than mine lol! Unfortunately in pursuit of 'max DPS/max Aux' my Vesta (the Sci one) has ended up without the reassurance of Alloys or MACO - it's not so bad since the Autonomous Regeneration Sequencer kicks in once I start taking damage but you have to know when to run away :D It…
I won't post my full build (I might put it on the skills planner at some point though) but right now I'm running: 3 x Aux DHCs 2 x [Acc]x2 [Dmg] Mk XII Phaser Turrets 1 x Kinetic Cutting Beam (for the Omega Amplifier) Mk XI Borg Deflector (+5 Aux and Autonomous Regeneration Sequencer) Mk XI Jem'hadar Engines (+4 Weapons)…
I'd like them to carry on firing whilst weapons are disabled but I accept that they don't - it's kind of a Catch 22 - effects that disable weapons should disable the Vesta's weapons (irrespective of what they are) and likewise, effects that disable Aux should disable Aux. Aux DHCs give you the opportunity to do something…
Which was chuckingram's comment - one of only two posts he's made in this thread in fact so I'd suggest you direct your ire at him rather than me - I just wanted to present a different point-of-view on how to use these weapons in a very effective fashion - one that you dismissed out of hand. And then went on to tell me…
Lol! The only thin skin around here is yours - you misguidedly stated opinion as fact and when myself and others offered an alternative perspective, you went on the defensive. No one's attacking you (at least they weren't anyway) - just offering a different point of view that doesn't necessarily agree with yours. We can…
And yet you've never discussed a 'superior' setup other than the simplest one available - dump some regular weapons in there and crank Weapons power to 125. I've merely pointed out that there's ways of getting more out of these than you've given them credit for. As a 'min maxer' you should know how far you can push power…
Let me point out that you stated the Aux DHCs were 'starter weapons' - all I did was point out that they're exactly the same as Mk XII Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons [Acc]x2 [Dmg]. My point was that with a certain (extreme) build you can get more DPS out of 125 Aux/100 Weapons setup than you could with the regular Phaser DHCs…
Sorry Kimmy but you're the one not backing up your claims - I'll make this simple so you understand: DHCs = 12 drain Turrets = 8 drain Aux DHCs are identical to Mk XII Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons [Acc]x2 [Dmg], they just use Aux instead of Weapons power. 125 Weapons build: DHC 1 = 125 power (0 drain) DHC 2 = 113 power (12…
They are high-DPS - that alone doesn't make them superior weapons though (as I pointed out) - many people consider the [Dmg] modifier the least desirable one to have - I'm one of them. Some people however just see the DPS and think 'more=better'. And regarding the Aux DHCs - they're the same. Exactly the same as Mk XII…
I just checked and they do exactly the same amount of damage as a regular [Acc]x2 [Dmg] Phaser DHC (of which, there's only 4 on the Exchange starting from 14.9 million EC). The new Advanced Fleet [Acc]x2 [Dmg]x2 are arguably better but you couldn't run a 125 Aux build without switching power all the time, popping batteries…
Oh please. Just because you've failed to realize it's possible to put together a very powerful build with Aux DHCs doesn't mean that you have to get all defensive. And if you want to test your build against mine then by all means get in touch @brataccas
I didn't say they were bad, just that it's possible to build a Vesta with Aux DHCs and 125 Aux (so max Sci/heals) that does more damage than a Vesta with 125 Weapons and [Acc]x2 [Dmg] Phaser DHCs - I think that's pretty neat. Oh, and I use Shield Batts and Deuterium.
According to my Fleeties, KHG costumes are (once again) (even more) broken in the tailor too - assuming you've unlocked the costume through the Rep projects you're unable to edit it  Edit: I just checked, the drop-down for Honor Guard is missing. Wonder what else they broke?
They're as good as any other regular purple Mk XII Phaser DHCs. The nice thing about Aux cannons is that if you min/max your power levels with Efficiency you can run your DHCs at 125 Aux and your rear weapons (Turrets or whatever) at 100+ Weapons simultaneously - end result is more DPS than a 125 Weapons Phaser build and…
I'm just worried about how long we're going to have to wait for the queues to pop with the PvP community split across 3 factions rather than 2. As a KDF, KvK rarely seems to have much action leaving FvK as the main avenue for PvP - if we end up with FvF, FvK, FvR, KvK, KvF, KvR, RvR, what's that going to do to the wait…
I use two-piece Omega (Deflector/Engine) for the Tetryon Glider (got a Plasmonic Leech too plus specced into Flow Caps) and the Elite Resilient Shields - although I'm sort of an anomaly amongst B'rel captains - I actually use Disruptors :D
I've been dogfighting them in my B'rel (Eng) and generally they're having a tough time in PvP - 4 x Elite Disruptors chews through anything pretty quickly and even the Eng Kumari (with an Eng flying it) is quickly blasted into dust by 2 or 3 BoPs working in tandem. That said, there's a lot of new really awful Fed Bug…
Just a little note to say: STOP TYPECASTING ORIONS!! That's better :) Just because there's many Orion ladies flaunting their um... assets around Qo'noS, that doesn't mean we all are - some of us ladies actually wear a uniform believe it or not - or KHG or SHOCK! skirts :P
I just wanted to say that I'm in a big KDF fleet (the biggest maybe?) and whilst I can't speak for my fleet-mates, this change certainly impacts me negatively. I didn't 'grind' the IOR but I'd run it maybe a couple of times a day and along with some dilithium make my contributions to our T5 projects. We run a lot of fleet…
:D Funny, but really not the cause of this whole debacle - Fleet Marks are a pain to come by and their use as Foundry rewards has made Foundry content artificially popular - they needed to be pulled from being associated with Foundry content and put back in somewhere else, unfortunately Cryptic only did the first part.…
