Nice to see the Epic Phoenix Prize Token will be reclaimable on other characters. This allows us to take a different ship on other characters should we want it.
A word of caution to everyone: Do NOT discharge your chosen ship!
Unlike the Event Reclaim store, once you discharge it, you'll need another Epic token to get a new one from the Phoenix Store.
This is where it would be better for us to get a one-time "Choice Pack - Epic-Tier Phoenix Ship Account Unlock" as it unlocks a Phoenix Ship in the Event Reclaim, meaning we can discharge and reclaim as we please.
The disadvantages here would be the lack of choice for each character on the account, and the token would be useless if we already have access to all the ships from previous events.
The option being awarded still has some use for those of us who already have access to all the ships as we can downgrade the tokens to Ultra Rare and grab two things from there.

This is an interesting event reward. I initially got confused and thought the campaign reward changed, then re-read it. So we'll be getting another 500 lobi crystals and a phoenix token on top of the event campaign rewards later? o_o
It's a shame they took all the T5 ships out of the Phoenix store. I have all the T6 ships and am only missing the T5 Risa ships, which I could've picked up with each character after this event.
Like an Epic token for each toon is nice and all, but with the current state of the Phoenix store they'll probably end up being used for upgrades.

Yes, but they aren't showing on the RSS feed, meaning anyone following the feed to get the latest game news isn't seeing new news items. Here's a screenshot of what my browser shows when manually visiting the RSS feed URL:

In case you're not familiar with RSS and Atom feeds, they allow me to get all of the game's news in a centralized place where I can see everything else I follow (tech news, security news, AI news, game news, Steam news, new videos from my favorite YouTubers, new updates to my favorite Github projects, etc). @baddmoonrizin The problem with the former Gearbox website is that it hurts the eyes of those who are photosensitive including me. Since May 21st, all the recent posts instead of being migrated to both the Arcgames website, Arc client, and the former Gearbox one are instead going to the Arc client and the former Gearbox one only. Others have captured the links for both the Captain Alteration Token and this recent post. Those links are on Reddit, are taken from the launcher, and I already posted them in the forum posts. I also commented about this in the threads for Bonus Marks Weekend, 20% Ship Sale, Change Your Captain's Gender or Species, and now Delete Alt Control. I personally don't use the RSS feeds but there are many who do.
I'm also in the "Epic tokens I can't use" camp on PC. I'd love to be able to sell or gift these to someone who needs them since the odds of getting one from phoenix boxes is one in (rough approximation) eleventy billion.

Yeah I'd be happy to give one away too. I don't think there's a mechanism for trading stuff but not making it available on the Exchange at the moment though, right?
And that wouldn't stop private trades, even if there was.
There is talk about this situation going on. I'm also in the same boat as you. What will come from the talk I don't know, but there is talk.
How about the ability to purchase a set of 10 character-bound phoenix-style upgrades that force a 'Bind-to-Character' on the upgraded items?
This would likely keep us all happy and removes the possibility of exploiting the claim on temporary characters.

To make it clear an RSS feeds is a standardised way to receive news. RSS feeds allow us to consolidate multiple information sources into one area. Often as a ticker onto Windows Desktop, into Outlook or what ever the reader preference is.
I might for argument sake pick Arc Star Trek Online RSS, The main Official Star Trek Website RSS feed, some sports and Finance RSS and have all that news into 1 location. Any time one of the selected RSS feeds makes a new post like a new Star Trek Online blog it appears at the top of the RSS reader in a central location.
In short you pick the new sources you want to see and only that news appears in your feed. Only want to see game blog news only pick game RSS feeds.

If you claim the crystal set, you cannot claim a second copy simply because you already have it.
If you delete the set, you'll be able to reclaim it.
If you really want a second set, put it on a ship that isn't your active one and you'll be able to grab a second copy.
The phrase "Reclaimable ONCE for each character on your account!" is very clear that we will be able to claim the token just the once.
If you reclaim it once, delete it and then try to reclaim it again, you'll find you won't be able to.

That's good to hear. We'll see what happens. An easy solution that'd keep me content would be to add an X-Upgrade token (or two?) at Gold tier. But given that this is claimable on all characters, that might end up being way too many tokens in distribution, so I'm not sure that'd work.
RSS is a really old service from back when the internet was far more professional and informational than the highly commercialized mostly entertainment-oriented thing it is today.
Initially it was meant to save time and (especially important to students) money on the old slow and often metered connections, along with reducing the avalanche of irrelevant information (like red-herring ads that have pages and pages of keywords to trick search engines into including them but have nothing to do with the query), and whatnot, while avoiding the kind of bias and misinterpretation that plague news digest sites since they are a text-only version of the original article automatically distributed by the site's content management system.
It is still relevant today despite generally faster and less expensive connections because of its inherent hassle-reduction and the ability to target specific feeds of known quality and bearing on the subject(s) of interest. Unfortunately, it is falling out of favor because it does not support things like push ads and cuts through most of the other boardwalk-huckster style nonsense the internet is choked with nowadays, and that hyper-commercial/political sector is doing all they can to get it deprecated so it is usually not on by default anymore, and fewer admins are jumping through the hoops to turn it on.
I suspect that it may only be active on the ARC website itself and not the others as STO swings around the branches of the corporate tree like a monkey the way it has been doing of late, and as sthe91 pointed out earlier in the thread it has gotten rather spotty when it comes to news updates, with the Gearbox site and a few others carrying the news but the ARC site often missing it like the updater is broken or something.
I already know what I'm using most of my epic tokens on: DOMINOs for the rest of my toons, and the two that already have it are probably gonna get a Breen ship or maybe the Ho'kuun.

It does seem to be the case that only the Arc website appears to have RSS feeds for game news, which is weird since Wordpress and many other CMS and blog solutions have RSS and/or Atom feed support built right in. Hopefully at some point someone will turn on RSS feeds for the main Star Trek Online website so we can subscribe to that instead of the Arc website's feeds.

HA HA HA HA
It does seem to be the case that only the Arc website appears to have RSS feeds for game news, which is weird since Wordpress and many other CMS and blog solutions have RSS and/or Atom feed support built right in. Hopefully at some point someone will turn on RSS feeds for the main Star Trek Online website so we can subscribe to that instead of the Arc website's feeds.
