I have all of these ships gathering virtual dust, so sadly this event has zero appeal for me.
I also have them and easily reclaimable from event store.
It is still a nice reward. Maybe future content for the epic token will be interesting.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I propose this solution:
Make the token downgradable, but at a 1:1 ratio - so you'd be able to claim any 1 item from the phoenix-store.
Of course that item you buy would become character-bound, and have a sell-value of zero ec.
It can not be tradable or convertable into any kind of currency, just like all other per-character-claimable items.
I have most of the ships on the Pheonix Box list. the ones I don't I would wish to gather onto certain toons. The fact that these prizes can't be traded to other toons on my account saddens me.
I have a Breen inspired toon. I've been trying for years now. (no joke) for a Pheonix prize drop to gain the 2 missing Breen ships for this toon. I'll get 1 (which) is grand, but I also have a Vulcan themed toon that already has the Vulcan ship on this list, so the prize is useless to me on that toon. Yet I'm not allowed to transfer it to my Breen toon???
I also have a Ferengi toon that has the Ferengi ship, again the token is useless to me on that toon. Are you seeing a pattern here?
I have a Borg toon the prize is useless to me on that toon.... I can go on and on.
If I had won the Pheonix box in an event or any other time I could give it to any one of my toons, why is this any different?
Please rethink the ability for the Pheonix prize(s) to be Account Wide (tradable). Don't muck it up and leave them character bound.
While not mentioned, with all round availability of old event ships through the epic phoenix token i hope that the consoles of the various ships are no longer ship specific.
While dated by today standards, i would love to be able to use the breen consoles on a drain build on one of my nausican pirates.

The way they did the phoenix token with it being one per character seems fine to me, the main reason to use one of those ships is for the theme of the character, and for that one ship per is sufficient. And yes, there is the DOMINO console too for those who want it for mechanics purposes, but still, it is not like those ships are exactly fantastic by current standards though some of them are still quite good, and all of them are at least decent.
I have a Kobali character I have been wanting to get the Samsar for for a long time, and I have several character ideas that could really use the Lukari ship, and a few other ideas. On the characters for whom I do not have a use any of the current phoenix store ships, the token taking up one spot in their banks until the need for it comes around is no hardship.
The thing I wonder though is whether the token will be available to characters created in the future, or just already existing ones?

It's still an exploitable loop as you can generate a number of phoenix upgrade tokens for free from burner alts. And even if those are character bound, gear to use them on isn't. You could theoretically have the tokens bind that gear, but to avoid exploit it would need to be *to character* and anyone using these tokens normally could find a key bit of account gear locked because of an exploit fix they weren't fully aware of. It's a bad deal.
As mentioned, the most immediate "fix" is just to add something new to the tier. Ex. Q's hat. That way any player who already has all the ships has something to claim that's "special." It also fixes that issue for normal Epic token claims, where trading down if you have everything provides a pittance to the value that token normally is to players. For any other fix, you're dealing with complex mechanics (which may require major software dev time, which is a precious commodity for the team) that fail to address core issues with the other prize tiers. Why bother when with ordinary dev time you can hook up a minor vanity claim? Bin the waffling and do the simple, direct thing.

There is an issue with progress on the Delete Alt Control event - the cooldown timer for the event is not displaying. We're working on a fix, but please know that after you get your daily progress, you are actually on cooldown for the usual amount of time.

For those who do not run marks every day, your cooldown timer is your bonus marks timer located in the bottom right side of your tfo window *hopefully fixed next update*. For the others, as BMR said, the timers are still working as intended, they just dont wanna tell you how much time you got left to wait. LOL.
I don't know if it's been announced anywhere, but the RSS feed issue seems to have been fixed. I also noticed that my RSS feed reader supports Twitter accounts as feeds, so I added the STO Twitter so I can follow that as well.
Really rather dissapointing that it wasnt properly communicated that the Epic tokens couldnt be broken down and are useless to so many people; giving something the same name as an existing token but with a different functionality is a bit cheeky really, if I had known i just wouldnt have bothered, not worth the time in the end, oh well.

It was properly communicated that the Epic Phoenix Tokens couldn't be broken down. @baddmoonrizin and the devs explained this. Also, if they did what you wanted them to, it would be an exploit. Who knows, maybe something new will be added to the Phoenix Store in the future?

Thats all I have to say on this.
Create endless alts and transfer the tokens so your main characters can unlock every ship in the Phoenix Store.

The one for Red aler is still visiable and active though.
Edit:
Noticed that time left for event is not visible on Red alert.
Guess this update did not go through QA check before being launched.
A test server is supposed to be used to properly test patches before patching anything....

There is a whole thread on the subject ..... https://account.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/1273711/epic-prize-token might of been bette to post there.
