Patching doesn't work at all here. It starts, but then peters out to a series of small bursts of network activity. Since the patch is clearly multi-gigabyte in size, it would take days to finish if I had the patience to let it sit long enough. No progress is possible on my end.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Patching just restarted for me.
This does not inspire confidence.

I've used both Steam and Arc launchers, patched and nothing. Verified/patched and nothing....opened the client directly in the directory, logged in and same procedure and nothing.....this is still bugged.
Since yesterday already downloaded a total of 20 gig of patch and today almost the same amount. This afternoon at 12pm utc+2 I was able to play after downloading a major patch (could just play without a single problem) and when I just logged out and read these comments I wanted to know if I could log back in and guess what... I couldn't. Because the launcher wouldn't boot but started pulling in a big patch so I did a force verify and again it's pulling in a very big patch, wonder if I can log in again then that's me 2 days almost 50 gig of patch download.

ARC, you are missing Easter Sale that you prepared for months! Maybe it's a sabotage from Call of Duty or Eve?
Good morning. The fix deployed last night is working too slowly, so the team is working to deploy the fix via an alternate method. We have no clear ETA on a fix, but we'll keep you informed this morning.
I rarely come onto the forums to comment these days but even I have to say that this situation is getting beyond a joke.
What is going on at Cryptic? At one point it seemed their dev team was growing and they had the manpower to put out expansions the size of Legacy of Romulus and Delta rising. These days it seems all we get are the odd mission or TFO.
Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that ever since PWE threw all their eggs into the Magic the Gathering basket, only for that to crash and burn before it even made it out of the door, that Cryptic are now operating a one man and his dog sized Dev team that can barely keep things together. A Dev team I might add, that repeatedly tell us that they don't dare touch half the systems and code in the game because none of them know how it works. How can a supposedly professional games studio be run like that?
I don't blame the Devs, I get the feeling that they are overworked and probably as frustrated as the playerbase is. What I do blame is the senior management (or should I say mismanagement?) who seem hell bent on squeezing this IP for even last penny they can before the lack of investment finally brings the whole thing crashing down like the house of cards it seems to be these days.

I appreciate the update. Any chance of expanding on what the fix last night was? Does it include downloading multiple patches? It would be nice to have an idea what we need to be doing and what is a waste of time.

Game was fine for me last night. Same issue as everyone else now. I was wondering why the game was so dead last night.
They'll get it I'm sure. Stuff happens with online games. Its been a rocky week, fix it up Cryptic or we might think there is more to your internal joke network. lol Take care of business then go have some beers.

It wasn't Cryptic, it was someone in a fleet within the game. I thought it was kinda obvious from the post and tw@tter address.

It really isn't clear right now about the source of that "joke". While they are saying that it was someone else, I haven't seen that confirmed by any other source. It could be 100% accurate or it could be damage control. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Edit: To clarify, I'm not saying it's true, just the source hasn't been confirmed*

Guess I'm playing Payday 2 today since STO is out of commission for me atm
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

Just tried to patch, and it downloaded about 3GB. It still didn't work after this. Closed client and tried again. Now it seems like it is trying to download the whole game. It's at 18% complete with 2380mb downloaded already.

Even WAY back in the SoE EQ days when they had servers down for days because the tech was very new - they KNEW the issues, and had a fix, and yes the rollbacks were occasionally painful, but at least they knew how to fix their own systems and at least related the issues and gave regular progress updates.
This.
Even when they implemented a fix, they provided no guidance on what we needed to do. Most people just did the long process of downloading multiple patches, with no idea if this was the fix. Did we need to delete certain files then patch? Did we need to do a fresh install? Did we need to verify the download?
Players are okay with game problems, it sucks, but it happens. It's the quality of customer service, or lack thereof, that will drive away a player base.

Was in for the second time today, a combined total of 50+ patches, game got hung on a loading screen and had to shut down, now I cant even get the launcher to launch, it just keeps getting better lol

I've patched so many times, I'm losing interest now. I've just started a force verify to see if that will work....
If not maybe I'll uninstall and try from scratch.

It's also been reported that the events going on will be extended when the game is fixed.
