    Vosi Dax: Greetings.

    Hargrove: Captain.

*He turns to respond to the Breen commander.*

Our ships are loaded with epsilon warheads, but... They'll only work outside of the deadzone. No subspace, no subspace weapon. And we can only fire a couple before we start doing irreparable damage to subspace. Assuming even that's safe this close to a deadzone...

The Republic experimented with the effects of subspace weapons near the Bastion deadzone. We found that even fold-spacing into the test range caused the deadzone to expand a tiny amount. Actually detonating the weapon yielded a subspace instability significantly worse than in normal, healthy, regions.

My people are looking at alternatives...

Harrison: agreed. We need to try to not damage space anymore then it already is but if that is the risk we have to take we will as a last effort.

Janeway: we are still trying to see if we can block off this area of space from them like before but given the subspace damage that isn’t looking likely.

    Meanwhile

After a brief walk Osman walks back into her office and taps a control as Atlas pops up.

    Atlas: yes ma’am.

Osman: get me the president. We need to try to save the fleet.

    Atlas: aye ma’am right away.

*Eve looks angry and pulls out an injector from the belt in her suit, setting it to replicate explosive gel and then rushes the cyborg while its turning to fire on Jane, stabbing it in the back and pressing the button then running before the cyborg suddenly explodes violently, sending shrapnel everywhere.*

Vosi Dax: Well its not an WMD, but the enterprise has been equipped with an experimental specialized weapon designed specifically for closing tears in our reality. Theoretically, if we could get to a big enough rift in fluidic space and fire it, it would cause a chain reaction that would close a large amount of other rifts in the area. We haven't really had the opportunity to test it yet.

Harper: there is one issue with that at the moment. Ftl drive in the expanse is impossible. That and we don’t know the vocal point of the rifts they are making currently.

Janeway: the issue now and first off is to stop and halt the undine coming attack then we can look at using the enterprises weapon to seal them out hopefully for good.

Vosi Dax: What if... what if we go into fluidic space. On the other side. In their universe subspace might be fine.

    Harper looks to the others

Janeway: I suppose that is possible. But if we where to do that the ship firing the weapon would end up stuck in fluidic space most likely.

Vosi Dax: No I mean what if we use the Enterprise to close the rifts on their side, to try and stave off their attacks. I doubt they would be prepared for us, and it might buy us time to figure something out in our universe right here. We could close most of their rifts, and then leave through one of the remaining ones to get back here, hopefully close enough that we can use impulse to get out of the dead zone.

Hargrove: Janeway, is it considered a requirement that captains of the Enterprise have to be prepared to take extreme risks and devise crazy plans before they get the assignment?

    *He turns to Dax.*

Not that it's a terrible plan, Captain. But firstly we don't even know for sure if warp drive will work in Fluidic Space. Secondly, even the Enterprise wouldn't be able to get to a rift without the Undine destroying her, much less survive long enough to seal the rifts and escape.

Osman: thank you for stopping by. I was recently in a meeting with ONI and Section 31. The purpose of the meeting was that section 31 believes they have a way to seal the expanse from the undine.

Osman: no probably not. But it may save the galaxy and the allied fleet from being destroyed.

    She pauses a moment

Osman: section 31 claims that they have a way to create a weapon combining one of our epsilon warheads and a UNSC nova warhead. While closing the area to the undine it would make that area into a vast void. No space travel would be possible and there would be nothing there just a void.

    Undine command ship

Undine: they have assembled a large allied fleet as you predicted. They must be destroyed and shown the week will perish.

A dark figure gets up and begins to move around.

Alduin: they are of little consequence. They lack the numbers or the power to be a real threat once the attack begins. Your forces will spread through the galaxy and set it ablaze. Nothing will stop us.

Undine: we have heard those promises before and seen how these while weaker species can be problematic...

The undine stops as it feels a immense pain in its head and a similar sensation to not being able to breathe.

Alduin: you question my power and authority. Did I not tell you the path would open again and you would be able to return and finish what you started? Did I not tell you they would assemble a fleet of the major powers?

The undine tries to let out a psychic cry as the others just watch it suffer

Alduin: has it not been for me telling you you would never have known you could return to destroy them! And now you will never see your people victory.

He waves his hand as the undine begins to dissolve before him the others present simply state

    Undine: the weak shall perish!

Osman: those details whereby specified. I’d assume it would create a void there as well but I can’t say for sure.

Harrison walks into the mess hall of his ship where Rotek is sitting alone.

Harrison: mind if I join you

Rotek: why no of course not.

Harrison: do you think that the republic will supply the warhead we need.

Rotek: well if it where just up to one person I believe so but this is a delicate situation with those as you know.

Harrison: I imagine so since the last time their use didn’t go as planned.

Rotek: yes a unfortunate outcome to say the least. I suspect the republic will be less anxious to use them again in the same area no less

Harrison: well let’s hope they do. We could save a lot of lives and ships if they do.

Osman: no. But we risk losing everything if we don’t try it. I can’t say either way but this is something that will need to be decided quickly if we are going to save the entire allied fleet. If not there is no telling how many will die before they stop them.

Vosi Dax: Warp does work in fluidic space. There's been a handful of instances of our ships in the past being stuck in Fluidic space for a bit and they were able to generate a warp field. Subspace for Fluidic space also appears to be completely separate from subspace here, so damage to one side doesn't impact the other. And we wouldn't go in alone of course... but maybe we could make a distraction?

Ooc: no worries man hope it all went well and was fun.

Harper: while we are thinking of that. As far as fleet deployment I would suggest groups of capital ships protected by smaller escorts and fighter wings. The undine ships are extremely maneuverable and pose the greatest risk to our larger ships.
