Vosi Dax: Warp does work in fluidic space. There's been a handful of instances of our ships in the past being stuck in Fluidic space for a bit and they were able to generate a warp field. Subspace for Fluidic space also appears to be completely separate from subspace here, so damage to one side doesn't impact the other. And we wouldn't go in alone of course... but maybe we could make a distraction?
Ooc: no worries man hope it all went well and was fun.
Harper: while we are thinking of that. As far as fleet deployment I would suggest groups of capital ships protected by smaller escorts and fighter wings. The undine ships are extremely maneuverable and pose the greatest risk to our larger ships.
Hargrove: Agreed. Which raises another issue. I won't argue that the Enterprise is the best ship for the mission, but it also makes a big target, even with the downsizing the Universe-Class went through after the Eblisi invasion. Covering her might be a job for an entire battle group.
Harper: and that could mean taking away far more ships then are available for something like that.
Janeway: agreed. We need to see about getting this battle one with what we have. If we can stop this attack we can then look at going in and closing rifts.
" Now the gate has been unlatched headstones pushed aside; corpses shift and offer room ,a fate you must abide."
OoC: How big is the enterprise if it was downsized?
OOC: Canonical size. I think Allen came up with the Universe Class, we realised it was the name of the J's class, then Allen put in a line about the class being downsized because initially his Universe-Class was too big. I don't think the J herself was actually downsized, thinking about it, but built afterwards to the new plans. I'd have to go back and check. Either way, still a big ship.
Harper: and that could mean taking away far more ships then are available for something like that.
Janeway: agreed. We need to see about getting this battle one with what we have. If we can stop this attack we can then look at going in and closing rifts.
Hargrove: After the battle we may not have that luxury.
*His combadge chirps.*
Hargrove.
Comm: Admiral, the Prime Minister's on Priority One for you. Also, Captain Santiago is asking to speak to you urgently.
Harper: of course. You can use the ready room right through those doors. If you need anything while using it just call for GAR the ships AI and he can assist you.
Harper gestures to a door on the other side of the room.

Rotek walks into the quarters he is using on the section 31 ship and taps his console.
Osman shortly appears
Osman: it’s good to hear from you.
Rotek: I thought now would be as good a time as any to update you and get an update for our friend here.
Osman: a wise idea. She is going to give me an answer shortly. Until then things go as planned.
Rotek: I see. I hope you where blunt about the situation with her. Even with the combined forces I’m still skeptical about the chances we will have.
Osman: I know. For now they are just going to have to make due with what they have. Try to get any more info you can about the results of using the device they want to use. If you can get me good details and I can give her a good answer it may help make things easier on everyone.
Rotek: I’ll see what they will tell me but as we both know they are even more secretive then before now. I wouldn’t count on me getting much out of them.
Osman: see what you can do and keep me posted

Hargrove: Thank you.
*He enters the Ready Room and takes the call from Sam.*
Prime Minister.
Sam: Is this channel secure on your end?
Hargrove: Of course.
Sam: I just had a worrying conversation with Osman. Apparently, ONI and S31 have suggested using a combined Nova-Epsilon warhead, fired into Fluidic Space, to prevent the invasion.
Hargrove: Sounds ideal.
Sam: It may also destroy the Undine within Fluidic Space.
Hargrove: I see.
Sam: Osman's in favour of the plan. She thinks we have an opportunity to prevent millions, maybe billions, of deaths.
Hargrove: And you want my opinion?
*Sam nods.*
It's your decision, Ma'am. You're CinC. But with recent events, I'm not sure my people here would be prepared to use another subspace weapon to deliberately annihilate another species.
Sam: Do we have an alternative?
Hargrove: We already know we have the numbers here when the Romulans arrive to hold the Undine back, or at least blunt their assault. As for anything else, we may have something on our end. Captain Dax is very... unorthodox.
Sam: The Enterprise's new Captain? Well, who am I to argue with the Captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise?
One of the most difficult ethical questions is whether it is justifiable to destroy one species to save your own...
Hargrove: An ethical exercise which might have merit in this case, were we facing the prospect of extinction. I don't think it'll come to that.

*Susan is in the holodeck, running a few exercise programs*
OoC: The closest I can find to a canonical size for the Universe Class is 3 km. The art designers said in an interview that it was meant to be so big that instead of turbolifts you would have to use a transporter to get around so its probably got transporters and turbolifts connecting various areas. Its supposed to be designed so it would be able to fly forever (theoretically), a self sustaining mobile space station.

David: Captain David Santiago, R.S.S. Republic. We've been studying our library files for information on the Undine in order to try and devise effective tactics against them.
Hargrove: Captain, time is of the essence. Skip the preamble.
David: At first contact with the Undine, a Federation starship successfully modified a number of Borg nanoprobes in order to be used as a weapon. The modified nanoprobes were capable of breaching the Undine ships' immune systems and attacking the individual cells, destroying the ship's from the inside out.
David: Well, as you may know, both the Federation and the Republic have based our medical nanite technology on Borg nanoprobes. We can reprogram them to perform a very similar task as the Voyager nanoprobes, and load them into a torpedo delivery system. It should also be possible to load UNSC MAC rounds with them.
It won't defeat the Undine straight-up, unless they panic and retreat, but it should drastically reduce our losses.
Hargrove: What about our Point-Defence launchers?
David: That will also be possible, but I'm not sure how effective it would be. The Undine would have to get pretty close.
Harper: I like the sound of it and where this is going. How long would it take to outfit the needed ships with the modified weapons to have it be effective against the undine.

Harrison: glad to see you waited.
Carter: well?
Harrison: I suspect they won’t go along with what we are planning. We may need to take matters further to deal with this if we are wanting to stop them.
Carter: this is what happens when people have to much morals and decency.
Harrison let’s out a small chuckle.
Harrison: well that’s why we are here to do things people like them won’t or can’t do.
Carter: very true. So if they won’t supply the warhead what do you suggest?
Harrison: patience. We may not have to do anything. I’ll keep having my science teams work on another method. But between them I wouldn’t be surprised if they come up with at least a temporary solution.
Carter: perhaps I’d rather just deal with them all at once and get it over with.
Harrison: I understand but we also can’t be to quick on the trigger either. I’ll reach out to you once we know what else we need to develop a weapon.
Harrison nods as Carters holo fades. He turns as his door chimes.
Harrison: enter.
A agent walks in dressed in a science uniform.
Harrison: ah Simmons what update do you have for me.
Simmons: a possible weapon we could employ without needing the epsilon warhead. As long as you can still get a nova warhead.
Harrison: the nova is a lot easier to acquire since carter has them and is fully onboard.
Simmons: after going through data files I believe with the proper modification we could load a nova head with nano probes and if we inverted a red matter explosion could cause devistating effects in fluidic space.
Harrison: very good. Keep me posted on your work and what you will need. I want to have an ace up our sleeves if we need one.
She nods as she leaves the ready room.

At the allied fleets location suddenly a massive disruption is detected. A few minutes later a large Karee fleet appears. As soon as they do Zuni beams over to the UNSC command ship flanked by two royal guard.
Harper: I don’t believe.
Zulu: we have heard the call of a needed ally and have come to aide in the defense.
Harper: by all means please have a seat.
As he takes a spot at the table.
Harper: now as you where saying about the nanites how long will that take.
" Now the gate has been unlatched headstones pushed aside; corpses shift and offer room ,a fate you must abide."
Ooc: also just a refresh the Karee are slightly more advanced in weapons and engines then the Milky Way powers. They are NOT from Virgo but another galaxy. They are a vast Empire/republic. Think of them as far as looks and ships very similar to goa'uld with a very fire nation type feel as well. While not real allies of the Virgo UNSC they have been very close to the Milky Way UNSC
