Agree, this appears like a very nice ship, both versions.

So with the Fleet version it appears one will get the standard +10% more to hull & shields, gain 1 more option of Pilot seating as well, & those spry piloting maneuvers.

Doesn't Fleet versions usually gain 1 more console slot too, I thought I saw where both versions get 4Tac 4Eng 3Sci?

I'm not sure if previous event ships have been separated into different tiers like this, but I see some pros & cons to it, & not so bad since if one wants to invest the time a FSM can be earned.

First time I might probably pass the event. It is a free ship and very grateful but with past winter/summer events ships already collected even for just the admiralty card does not seem enticing.

Is there going to be Dilithium given for completing the event as well or just the ship? How about marks?

With all the Fleet love, any chance for the 'Non-Fleet' version Aquarius to be freed to players that are not in Fleets?

They've never given us more than the event ship (and maybe a warp core or torpedo) before, it seems unlikely they'll add dil and marks now.

Event ships normally are already fleet grade. So I am actually surprised that they altered anything but the seating and the Pilot Maneuvers at all.

Why is there two different versions of the ship. I don't get it, do you choose one upon opening the pack? Do you get two of them? Do you buy one of them?

They do this with all new ship stat blogs these days. The hit point values before weren't really all that useful, either, because there are many effects that can alter how much hitpoints you will actually have. Similar to how the type of shield and your skills and gear can affect how much shield you have.
By breaking it down to the modifier, all the ship-independent factors are eliminated, and you can compare ships by their modifiers. A ship with a hull modifier of 0.99 has weaker hull than a ship with a hull modifier of 1.2, assuming the same gear and skills etc.

Sweet, Risian console(s) will finally be usable on all ships.
Any chance "usable on any ship" can be made retroactive on various ships (where it makes sense, obviously)?
T5 Risian consoles are usable only on risian ships, but T6 is now on any ship.

they've been doing that for most all new releases, and have done it for at least one set already (the temporal science vessel/destroyer set) so i expect they'll probably change other consoles to usable on any ship eventually

of course, just making a console usable on any ship doesn't actually make it GOOD *cough*grappler*cough*...seriously, a version of tractor beam with 4x the CD and doesn't even deal damage

Anyone want twelve slightly used T5 Risian Corvettes? Original owners, bought during mid-life crisis, wife just wanted the house & alimony, kids won't talk to me, girl friend ran off with ex-wife. Must sell, will negotiate.

I for one will NOT be getting the fleet version to go with the risa version, Fleet ships are not account unlocks after purchase making them worthless as an account wide ship.
You realize you can only get the second one when you have the Event one acquired, a Fleet ship module (you can get a "free" one from Reputations for a max of 13) as stated in the blog:
Additionally, players who own a Risian corvette [T6] will be able to purchase the all new Risian Pilot corvette [T6] from their fleet for one Fleet Ship Module and 20,000 Fleet Credits. The Fleet version of the ship will have access to pilot maneuvers, allowing you to barrel roll your way across the stars.
Fleet Ship Modules are an item used in the game to purchase Fleet versions of ships, which are slightly stronger than their original counterpart. You can obtain them in the Zen Store for 500 Zen, purchase them from other players on the Exchange, or get a free one from obtaining Tier 6 in any Reputation. Fleet Credits are earned by donating to projects with your Fleet.
...so I'm assuming you are just either negative trolling or failed to read the posting correctly.

As stated to the one above you, the second one is the Fleet unlocked one after acquiring the Event ship.

No, probably not, for the simple fact that you can buy the equivalent raider with the current DSC Shran Light Pilot Escort T6 ship (Also the Ouroboros Temporal Raider T6 is only other Fed playable Raider, that does not come from lockbox). I flew the Fleet Aquarius before that was released, and pilot maneuvers really help. The ships are pretty much same layout. Only differences are the Aquarius being T5/u and the consoles Sci +1, and Eng -1. While the Shran has 2 Lt. Commanders vs 1 Lt. Commander of the Aquarius. In fact I would say the Risian Pilot Corvette T6 is also better than the Aquarius at this point, If anything you should be asking Cryptic to make a T6 version of the Aquarius---hopefully also with a better model, as the way the engine pylons are positioned/extend/slide make no sense with the size of thing( I rather see something exteriorly slide out holding the engines, but that is just me)
(Side note: The Ouroboros Temporal Raider is missing the 5th Ensign Boff making it overall restrictive vs both for an additional seating; also raises questions on how Cryptic decides what Raiders only get 4 Boffs vs 5 Boffs; and what Rank of seating they get especially when looking at the wiki table for Raiders that are the same Tier: https://sto.gamepedia.com/Raider )

I like the idea of the two ships. I don't think we've had any free full speciality ships before, so we lose nothing with the 'base' T6 version. The ability to specialise it further if you want to is very neat - I'll be doing this on at least two of my characters.

Not sure what to think about the Pilot maneuvers only being available on the fleet version.
Never really mastered the pilot maneuvers so i won't miss them, but i wonder about the precedent this sets.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I think this is the entire point, to see how it works and how it's accepted. They want to see it it may be worth trying it with future event ships, perhaps even past ones as well. This could be a one and done if it flops, or it could be the new norm. Time will tell.

I personally think it's a way to tempt folks into spending more money on the game. "Get the free event ship, and UPGRADE it for only 500 ZEN!" Oh sure, loads of folks might use one of their free FM's from the reps, if they haven't already used all those to upgrade ships they currently have. Some folks aren't in a fleet either so they may be locked out. Though honestly, a T1 Fleet Shipyard is pretty easy to do, even solo, so...

Anyway, I will get the free ship and be happy with it as is.

Wow, so you exploited the fact the T5 version wasn't really getting Fleet-grade hull/shields* to come out with an actual Fleet ship. That is so low.

*T5 Corvette is still fleet grade as clear by its console slot amount (same for the T6 one), it's just supposedly her hull/shields bonuses were sacrificed for the unusual speed. Now either you could argue the T6 version still has all that maoeuvrability on top of the console slots making it a worthy Fleet grade vessel. In that case, they are making a Fleet+1 grade ship by adding to the hull and shields still. Hooray for powercreep.
Or you could argue that the manoeuvrability itself got powercreeped long ago, meaning the T6 Corvette badly needed buffs. In that case, tough luck. You only get Fleet grade console slots out of the event and have to pay extra for the actual Fleet grade ship. That's then a first for an event ship (other than kinda the weird shortened attempt at the good old Dyson destroyer anniversary grind) to not be Fleet level.

Whichever choice you pick, this is bloody disgraceful. Hell there's not even a mention of a Risian spcific interior either. What a lazy unscrupulous greedy job.

There never was a Risian Bridge, even back in T5. So how is it lazy if the T5s never had them either? Also... what would it look like? A frickin' Tiki Bar?

I am curious, what negative precedent are you concerned with?

The 'regular' version is actually still a fleet ship. It's officer/specialist seating and 11 consoles are a full fleet level ship from the Event store just like we're used to getting every year.

The 'fleet version' just adds the pilot maneuvers and a little extra hull/shield modifier and is completely optional.

I think they would have avoided a lot of confusion if they called the Fleet Version the 'Pilot Version,' or 'Enhanced' version.

Even if you don't spend a fleet module, you're still getting a full, fleet level, T6 account wide ship unlock. Nothing has been lost the only change is the addition of the option to get just slightly more if you want it. They didn't nerf the base ship to encourage the fleet unlock.

    I honestly don't see a problem here.

Why all the hate here for the new corvette? I'm actually excited.

I unlocked the original T5 and have always loved the ship, though it did sit in my drydock for quite a while to make room for other, newer ships (until recently). When I saw we were gonna get a T6 version, I decided to bring out my old one (T5U) on my main character and try all the newer equipment on it and see how it flew. Let me tell you, it was fast and maneuverable when I first got it, but there is nothing that can compare to it now. Boosting the flight turn and engine power/performance with more recent equipment and combining that with the right boff abilities makes this ship so fast that she is almost uncontrollable at times. And insanely fast! It is almost unbelievable and is incredible to fly. I love it! I can fly circles around the enemy like crazy, bombarding them with my beams and turrets (skip cannons, can't keep them lined up long enough). I have never seen another ship in the game except the fighter/swarmers do this. And the maneuvers I can pull of with my ship are the most insane. I have never seen another player ship ever pull these crazy maneuvers off. And the enemies have such a hard time landing a good hit that it becomes funny to watch.

A properly equipped corvette is just SO freakin' much fun to fly!

So to say that the T6 version has to have pilot maneuvers to be worth anything is ridiculous. The T5 ship in the right hands with the right equipment can even fly circles around any of the current pilot ships I've seen. I've been able to complete missions and TFOs in the T5 corvette that normally I would need a large strong cruiser to easily win. Normally anything smaller and I'm dying too often. But not in my corvette. It's all over the place!

And now they are giving us a T6 version, with Pilot Boff seating! I am actually more excited about the boff seating than the Pilot maneuvers. With my current equipment/abilities and the added pilot boff abilities, this ship will be insane. Now don't get me wrong, I'm gonna get the Fleet version too, but I'm trying to point out to everyone, that even without the pilot maneuvers, if you use this ship correctly, you will never be disappointed by it, at any teir.

I will admit that I'm kind of on the fence about the idea of giving us two different versions of the ship so they don't break their event rules, one free and the other with a small added cost. But I must say it is much, MUCH better than them just giving us one version that not everyone is happy with (which I still don't think anyone should be unhappy with any of the corvettes) and ignoring what the players are asking for. So kudos for that Cryptic. Probably something that would work with the other event ships too, though I may not be getting them all.

As for me, I'm uber excited for the T6 corvette and wish I didn't have to wait 25 days for it. My current corvette is named "Winged Draco" and I can't decide if I should just keep that name, or rename it something like "Blue Speedster", "Lightning Hornet" or "Spinning Top of Doom". What do you guys think?

Yes, it's interesting to have a different setup on the Fleet Store. Nice they put the Pilot on the Uni LC instead of being stingy and making it a Lt station. You can get access to most pilot powers that way. So no great need to get the Fleet one unless you just really want to squeeze all the pilot goodness you can into the ship.

And while it's not account wide, the cost of 1 FSM and 20k isn't bad considering most of our toons should have T6 reps and a pile of Rep available FSMs available. If you're like me and most of your alts have never bought any of their FSMs from the Rep missions/store.

I think the T5 version looks sleeker and nicer honestly, also I prefer the way the nacelle lights are shaped much more uniquely on the T5 as opposed to the T6.
