oh look no romulan ship....again. This time we're adding a whole new type with new gimmicks and we're still too lazy to make a warbird...
this used to be the kinda 3 ship bundle I'd jump on immediately but, pass...
+1 here too as my main character is ROMULAN.
I actually do not like the look of this supposed Ambassador class design. It really SUCKS. Big time. Give us the Yamato alternate and I'd buy the FED ship. As it stands, nope. No thanks!
This KDF ship looks like it got hit with the ugly tree too. I'd buy more ships if they actually looked like TOS and/or TNG ships. I'm holding off in sheer disdain as it seems Cryptic is being spiteful with continued underwhelming starship designs.
For Pity's sake, look at the K'tinga! Now, look at yours. Look at the K'tinga again, and again, and again. Then build a T6 K'tinga!
Because a K't'inga and a Vor'cha are totally the same ship, right?
Well, they're equally hideous.
This new ship has the same general lines as a Vor'cha, but different details. Also it's probably customizable to use Vor'cha parts. I mean the T5 Vor'cha is a freebie ship so why not?
The only types of ships which I do not use are engi heavy and engi with a science bias. As much as I like the design of the Ambassador I really won't have a reason to want to use it.
You are without a doubt going to see FAR LESS Rom ships than you used to.
No, I'm not saying they won't make ANY new Rom ships. I'm saying they are going to make FAR LESS than they used to.
Whether that is "right" or "wrong" is debateable, but the devs should at least be HONEST about the situation and not pretend otherwise.
It's odd that people would still be surprised by a lack of a Romulan ship variant. To me this was the obvious outcome after they made endgame faction ships available to Romulan captains. Clearly they don't think that making Romulan variants are worth the effort anymore.
I seriously doubt anyone is surprised, we're just pointing out our displeasure with snark and sarcasm.... and, in my case, a closed wallet.

I understand the concern, so I want to assure you we aren't planning on never making another Romulan or Jem'hadar ship. I was just chatting with our concept artist, Hector, about designs for those guys. That being said, with everything that we're putting together for Age of Discovery in the fall, and the Anniversary in 2019, I wouldn't expect to see those ships right away. As always, we'll keep you updated.
I'm just going by what Kael said in the Recon Destroyer thread and the weekly livestream. There will be more Romulan ships. Kael said:
Yeah, we know. No one is saying they will NEVER make another Romulan ship. But they are going to make FAR LESS than they used to. That is the point, and anyone who says otherwise is deluding themselves.
This isn't speculation either; we now have an actual fact pattern. Pre VIL we never had a single faction pack that did NOT include Roms (post LOR of course). Post VIL we have not had a single faction pack that HAS included Roms. The reason is obvious: they did not want to have to keep making sub-faction variants with every release, and allowing the sub-factions to use their allies ships "solved" their "problem".
We know the deal. It's obvious to anyone who isn't sticking their head in the sand. My point is let's just be honest and open about the situation and not pretend like Roms will get anywhere NEAR the same amount of ships they did before. I'm not being pessimistic, I'm being realistic.
Two brand new starships - updates to the classic Ambassador and Vor'chas - are coming to Star Trek Online on PC, and soon Console! Check out the details here:
The following is a transcript of an intercepted message transmitted somewhere deep in Romulan Space, "We've been ignored again, this is no surprise, the Alliance is really only an Alliance of the Federation and Klingons, we give access to our gateway, bravely fight the Iconians and others, provide access to our Dyson Sphere, and yet our contributions are nothing to them. If this continues, perhaps we'll have to consider using our time, resources, and....latinum...elsewhere."
The reason there is no Romulan ships is because the Romulans are lazy louts that you have to keep admonishing to get them to do anything. They couldn't be bothered to design a new ship. They just yawn.

Seems clear to me that the Kamarag is being added to the Vor'cha instead of remaining its own ship. Which honestly doesnt bug me so long as Vor'cha gets to use the Kam's parts/skin. And no the Ambassador is not the Guardian, the guardian was based on Proberts original design but was changed a good bit and can not use the Ambassadors parts, this will be a true Probert Ambassador class.
T6 Vor'cha is long over due. My 1st question is will it take the Tor'Kaht skin? 2nd question, when are we getting a T6 Patrol Escort? and will it take the Maelstrom skin?
As much as I like the fact we are getting a T6 Ambassador, I prefer the in-game T3/T5 skin over the Probert design. Hopefully we can use the current skins on the new ship.
Now the Vor'ral... Oh My!
Since I am not going to shell out 1.1+ billion EC on a T6 K't'inga, I might settle on this ship... depending on its layout. I still fly the T5U K't'inga, and love it to this day.

I think you have to remember that I think we're honestly at a crossroads when it comes to what's left for the Romulans design wise.
When they originally introduced Romulans, they had the issue that with the NPC ships, there was only so many designs available:
In order to give them more variety in ships, they introduced the Dhelan & Dhael, the Valdore variant of the Mogai, a D'deridex variant, the Ha'apax & the 2 ships it splits into (along with a c-store variant of the Ha'apax), 3 total variants of the Scimitar and not too far after, the Ark'kif and Ar'kala Tactical Warbirds. They also gave the Romulans both a veteran destroyer and a small craft, along with a Temporal lock box ship. They even received a Dyson science destroyer and 3 c-store variants of it. Also most ships got Fleet ships associated with them.
Then of course came Delta Rising and the age of Tier 6. New ships were created while older ships were updated to Tier 6. They even went so far as to make non-romulan ships available to them, so technically, they could make more suliban ships in the future.
Klingons and Federation characters still have some ships that are not yet Tier 6, while cryptic has to come up with new designs if they are to give the Romulans another ship. I think for now they're going to set aside making new ships for Romulans, this way they can keep fresh ideas for larger ship packs.
I think ignoring Romulans and Jem'Hadar (Dominion) is not good. I'm looking forward to some Romulan new ships for now. Until then, I guess we can wait.

Agreed! Are we not supposed to play our Romulan toons anymore?

yeah, but I wouldn't be surpised if we had to remind them a few more times first... though for once I think they could actually forgot it.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

Actually, Patrickngo, it says Support Battlecruiser.
Which is why (in the other thread) I am wondering if they are going to roll the two together.

Seems that way... and it's too bad. I'll pass on those ships I guess...
I will get them both....IF....the seat layout and/or the console is good.
