Two brand new starships - updates to the classic Ambassador and Vor'chas - are coming to Star Trek Online on PC, and soon Console! Check out the details here:
For a nice change I like the designed of those ships. But unless they are good with mines its unlikely I will buy them. Any chance we could get a mine layer ship in game at some point? We have good ships for torpedoe boats, canons, pets, beams e.c.t but not real stand out ship for mines.

What makes a good mine layer? We did get the Summer ship with 5 rear weapon slots.
Nice. Probert's original Ambassador and she is a beauty. Was always a fan of the Vor'cha, she's a gorgeous ship, and the Vor'ral continues that tradition. Well done.
More Jayce's Interstellar issues please.
Now about that T6 Hegh'ta...
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"

In-universe, you'd think the RR would participate in the project because it was an ignominious moment from the RSE, to honor the fallen of their new allies and as a "memorial" of how their people don't pretend the past didn't happen and they have learned from it to go forwards and change for the better.
But out-of-universe, nope, no time for green birb.
oh look no romulan ship....again. This time we're adding a whole new type with new gimmicks and we're still too lazy to make a warbird...
this used to be the kinda 3 ship bundle I'd jump on immediately but, pass...
This would've been such a great opportunity to add a T6 Rommie version of the D7 warbird also IMO - feels like that would have fit within the early 23rd C before the might double D was designed
While I love more ship type diversity, gimicks and everything in between. I am a Romulan Main and this is a little cutting that the Republic was left out on this. I know we are not considered a full Faction but damn this does hurt a bit. If the new ship implimentation is going to keep going like this than maybe its time to develope the Romulan Republic into a full seperate Faction so that they can get equal treatment in the alliance.
Honestly though I love both those ships, and am saddened that we Romulan players were left in the cold on this. I know we can use any T6ship of our faction but its really not the same in the least.
Space is vast, it's wonderful and maddening. Yet in that madness is some of the greatest beauty I have ever seen.
I have decided to not spend any more money on this game now they have stopped putting out Romulan versions. The Romulan faction and Legacy of Romulus brought me to this game and now I am being shown the door. Would have bought the 3 pack
important questions:
1, is the new vor'cha based on the Tor'Kaht's layout or are we in for disappointment.
2. not really against it but why is the vor'cha paired with the Ambassador when it's not the kdf Support Cruiser the Kamarag is.
3. did y'all remember the vor'cha having a c-store version having a console, meaning this one should have a 2 piece?
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
Yay, a T6 Ambassador! And so soon after the last ships we got, too!
I do question making them Temporal rather than Miracle Worker. I mean, I guess it fits with the episode "Yesterday's Enterprise" but the Ambassador is a SUPPORT Cruiser. I'm not seeing much "support" yet. Sure, I don't have stats, but it's not looking all that supportive. I guess the Guardian is still the real support cruiser sequel in all but name.
Tell you what though, if you let us use all the standalone T5 and T6 consoles on any ship we want (Specifically the Guardian's) I'd be very happy. It's already been happening with the Recon ships, and even some console sets are freely equipable on all ships (Synergistic Retrofitting, Alternate Timeline Technologies, and even the Cardassian Intel ships, which come from the C-Store!)
I'd be able to take that fancy Guardian console and put it on the new Ambassador T6, and properly play a defensive support ship! Or you could just put them in a set together, that would be cool too.
In any case, I am looking forward to the stat reveal. Maybe it'll be more supportive than it looks at first glance. If not, I'll probs get it anyway because it's likely to have a truly universal console like the Recons, so I have that to look forward to. And since we're finally getting around to updating old ships...
I told you the Guardian was not the T6 Ambassador!
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

Mines do not benefit from 5 rears in fact its counter productive and makes the mines worse. 5 rear mines perform worse than 3 mines. 5 rear mines of the same type cripples your ship due to the way everything interacts.
Plus it has low tactical slots, a poor bridge officer layout for mine power combos and no access to top mine bridge officer powers. If that wasn't bad enough it has a poor weapon layout for top mine layer builds where you want master of mines and Deep Space Mines along side each other with clusters. All in all it massively underperformers as a mine layer compared to average mine layer ships.
EDIT: Another problem is 5 mines of the same type will cause a chain reaction of the mines despawning before they get chance to hit the enemy. Due to the constant mine despawn with 5 launchers you get less hits and less damage than 3 mines. Also 5 mines hit gloable cooldown problems.

Yes I have seen it and it’s a terrible ship for mines. I abandoned it as it just does not work. I thought it would be workable as the one nice thing about it is the mines move extra fast. But that doesn't make up for all the other weak areas.
The Romulans have been in awe of this ship since the Battle of Narenda III. They had been able to fly the T5 version and now they can't wait to get their hands on this T6 version
'But to be logical is not to be right', and 'nothing' on God's earth could ever 'make it' right!'
Judge Dan Haywood
'As l speak now, the words are forming in my head.
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
I got to say huge props for finally doing 2 ships people requested for so long, the Probert designed Ambassador class and the Vor'cha. Ill withhold the rest of my judgement till we see how good their stats turn out. Since people waited so long I hope they get a seriously nice upgrade. Since the Vor'cha is taking the place of the other support cruiser is it also going to get access to the Kamarag skin?
Well done dev team, hopefully next up is the T6 nova, it needs a major overhaul.
So they take the Guardian, slap on the Ambassador saucer and call it the Amby T6. Colour me not amused nor impressed. At least we do have 2 T6 Ambassador varients now though.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
But we don't yet know what the Boff slots wil be (very varied predecessors), which can hurt a lot of expectations.
And somehow the Vor'cha is bundled with the T6 Support cruiser, killing pretty much all hopes for a T6 Kamarag.
Not quite sure how to feel about this... Doesn't help that the Vor'ral doesn't really look great (though my cherished Vorkang skin should be available. On the other hand, probert's Ambassador ain't bad.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
2nd 2-pack release in a row, and no Romulan Warbird. I bet the next time we see a warbird, it'll be late next year, and in a promo pack, lockbox gamble, or lobi store.
I have waited for *soooo* long for an Andrew Probert Ambassador (I honest to God muttered "Oh my God" when I saw the news page) and here we are. I guess I'll just have to find a new name for my own old-school Ambassador "USS Narendra" if the name is blocked, but *damn*!!!

This bundle is a day one purchase for me!
