With a new expansion upcoming, I have been thinking about what things in the game Cryptic hasn't already revamped, and what sort of revamp they should get(if any)
1. Accolades: Almost every other MMORPG out there makes collecting achievements a daily, weekly, monthly, or even just one time thing, but regardless of if they can be re-achieved or not, achieving them actually gives the player something. In STO, getting Accolades increases some numerical score, but doesn't actually give you anything. IMO, the accolade system needs to be redone, and made to where your accolade score actually unlocks some small bonuses, be it EC, marks, dil, or w/e, at every certain value threshold. This would get more people into missions and queues as they attempt to get some of the harder to reach accolades.
2. Melee combat: Ground combat in STO has always been finicky, but melee combat has always been even worse. You are basically always disadvantaged using it, when melee combat has been a fairly effective means of combat in Star Trek proper. With the upcoming winter event item being a melee weapon, it would be nice if we could get better controls, and a better combo system, for melee weapons, to make using them actually worthwhile.
3. Doffing: The Doff system at this point is old, and has been fairly buggy ever since the sector space revamp, and the doffing borders were just never set properly, and even after several attempts to fix them, they still don't work properly. Not to mention Doffing is cumbersome in its use, and offers pitiable rewards compared to something like admiralty. Doffing needs to be updated to be more like admiralty to make it a are more useful, and enjoyable system. Each doffing catalog should have its own, more strictly defined, menu like the different admiralty campaigns do. Each one of them should axe the sector space borders in favor of a set list, so we don't have to go flying around all over the place, and fight with broken doff borders, to find missions. There should be pass tokens so we can skip doffing missions like we can in admiralty. Rewards need to be set slightly higher, though not as high as admiralty since admiralty uses ships which are more expensive to get, and thus should offer more rewards. In short, just take the admiralty system, and slap it over the doff system. It would go a long way to getting more people to use it since, at it stands, most people I know ignore it because it isn't worth the hassle.
4. Older social zones: While Cryptic has revamped ESD, the First City, and Drozana, and is likely to revamp DS9 in the next expansion, that still leaves a lot of older social zones like Vulcan, Andoria, Ganalda, Keep Space K-7, Starbase 39-Sierra, Memory Alpha, and Defera, in a rather sad state. If they ever revamp PVP proper, Andoria, Ganalda, and K-7 should get revamped, since those are supposed to be PVP maps. Memory Alpha would be a nice place to put all those lore blogs Cryptic has released over the years in-game. And while I can't think of an immediate use for 39-Sierra, or Vulcan, the maps don't need a total do over, just some touch ups to make them a little better.
5. Pre-LOR side content: While Cryptic has gone back and revamped the major story arcs, as well as the major social zones, there is still a lot of pre-LOR side content that hasn't been touched, and really need too. Things like pve queues, diplomacy missions, Fed patrols, and Klingon "Defend the Empire/Pi Canis Sorite" missions, are all rather poor. While removing them would be an easy, and acceptable option, revamping them would be better. The Fed only patrols, and the Klingon only defense, missions should be made repeatable, and redone to be more open to all. While something on the level of LOR or DR patrols would be nice, even more basic revamps to the state of those Breen-arc patrols would be nice also. Have them give out small amounts of marks and dil or something, give the players far more repeatable content in the game would go a logn way to preventing content burnout. When it comes to the pre-LOR pve queues, most of those just need to be axed, as they really don't reflect the post-revamped story of the game anymore, offer nothing in the way of rewards, and no one plays them anyways.
6. Last un-revamped missions: Cryptic has said in the past they had plans to revamp the early Klingon missions such as the Warzone and Fek'Ihri arcs, as well as doing some minor touch-ups on the Breen arc. They haven't talked about this is over a year, but it would be nice to get them because, while the Klingons have one of the better stories in the game, the actual quality of their early missions leaves a lot to be desired. As I recall, one or two of them are literally just patrol missions with a few added lines of dialog.

Would it be possible to get any sort of confirmation if Cryptic is still willing to do the early Klingon mission revamp? I'm not asking if you are doing it, or when you will do it if you are, but just knowing it's something y'all are still considering as something you might do would be nice.
These are the bigger things I think need to be revamped. Anyone else got any ideas/suggestions of what they could do to improve the existing content in the game?

Was there anything they say they were revamping but just plain taken away and we have totally forgot about. i am sure there are others but it is not coming to mind right now.
The most important elements would be:
- Removing batteries, food stuff, and all sorts of consumables as loot drops. Usually these aren't worth that much EC so it's no big loss in terms of EC, and they can also be added to the replicator (as far as that hasn't been done yet) for when a player needs them
- Or add a special tab for these kind of things
- Further, an auto pick-up function for loot would be nice to have
- Maybe a function that allows us to discard multiple items at once, or the ability to automatically discard items of a given Mk or quality.
Maybe they could change some weapons such as the Lirpa and Bat'leth such that you can charge at enemies from a bit further (like we already can with the Voth furiadon fangs and swords) and Bat'leths definitely need better combo's, but overall I think melee is good as it is.
Also note that there are some extra buffs in the Miracle worker tree for melee builds. These points definitely added to my melee character's build.

Having when you first show up it can be the setup of the new ESD but look like the old one and have the old Antaries uniforms till say sphere of influence.
I'd actually like to see the galaxy progress through time.

I don't think even WoW does anything like that. And they got the budget for it.

-in the case for pvp that won't see the light of day with new upgrades and it hasn't for 7 years before hand, why should it be so now after years or ignoring it?
- doffing is in a good place and so are accolades.
- certain types of content while they are old are not a priority i would imagine, especially the klingon content, the devs see their metrics and they know if they should focus on it or not, besides it's klingon content and the devs have been reluctant to add any substantial klingon content in the game for some time now.
- Social zones don't make a lot of difference and there are plenty enough as is with lots of services, so long as they function as they should, why would there be a great need to change it all around?
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
There have been plenty of functional MMOs without the degree of lock boxing power creeps STO does.
If that were true MMO's like WoW would never have existed with the success they had.
