Really don't feel like this new FE was even needed. Like, why do we care? Also the writing in it was horrible... Got about half way in and then couldn't wait to be done. Had high hopes with the ToS expansion, seeing good story and fun things to do.. Now it seems like the writers just don't care anymore.
Rodek says we need stealth...then we blast everything in sight....again. More story and problem solving beside plant bomb A and pew pew wave number 14.
Frustrating, I lost count of how many times I had to sit watching everyone act stupid thinking my character would never do this or act like this. Poorly designed cut screens for example I was running around with a pistol?
The graphics seemed odd as well washed out and poor. Lighting 2.0 so far seems to be making most of the game look worse. Well space was good but the ground map felt like the worst graphics I have seen in years.
Not bad. The ending was ... 'meh' it felt like "hey we saved Martok and he called me something weird, kk thnx bye" I was expecting to see some kind of interaction between Martok and J'mpok.
+1 for the new species to the game: Son'a
+1 for what I think was a reference to the Tzenkathi building a genesis torpedo.
+1 Martok
-1 Didn't like the ground map (exterior map), it looked bland compared to past maps in this Arc.
-1 Why did our prison outfits have the Tholian Symbol on them?
-1 Enemies were 'immortal' for random lengths of time before randomly dying.
Mediocre. It made me think "This could have been a good story, but it wasn't."
- Blowing up everything in site does not constitute stealth.
- Martok's Jem'hadar friend: introduced and then killed off in the span of ~10 minutes. Special significance was placed on him for no reason. (Unless I missed something)
- According to our prison gear, the Son'a prison is being run by Tholians.
- Too many battles, not enough story.
+ MARTOK!!
+ Torg finally gets what he deserves.
+ The duel at the end between Martok and Torg was actually suspenseful.
+ Son'a were interesting.
+ The plot with the Tzenkethi thickens ... slightly.
Rodek says we need stealth...then we blast everything in sight....again. More story and problem solving beside plant bomb A and pew pew wave number 14.
Yeah, you needed, and used, stealth, to rescue Martok, after getting him out of his cell, there was no more nee for stealth.
What about this confuses you?
While I do see your point you dont always have to have a snarky reply at the end of your rebuttal.
I enjoyed the episode very much and concur that the duel was very good and the spartan kick of Tzenkethi Captain was also awesome. I wonder when are we getting the Son'a dread that i saw flying with the Son'a?
Admiral whatshisname, the Fed mission giver, wasn't voice acted. Still missing, or not planned in the first place?
The fight between Martok and Torg as quite a well done cut scene (for STO standards). And the Jem'Hadar's death looked quite brutal.
I wish we had been given a bit more time with the people to get to know them. We only got one blog with the Jem'Hadar, but nothing in game to actually explain his situation or get us to care about him in any way. Might have been nice to have at least some optional dialog.
The initial approach to the base was deeply flawed IMO. It completely violates the stealth idea, and that my Starfleet Captain is opening fire on unsuspecting ships still sits a bit wrong with me. Are we officially at war with the Son'a already that we can run stealth raids against them without forewarning?
Seems the Son'a are using scramble sensors or another confuse effect. Neat. More enemies need this.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
For me, it was just another copy and paste fight in space, beam to ground, fight there, then beam back to the ship and fight in space yet again. Oh, there was a story there? Kinda missed it being that I was expected to STEALTH through the prison, but was escorted to Martok, then just blast our way back out. I also felt no feeling towards the Jem'Hadar at the end since he was not part of our crew or someone else important.
No suspense or stealth or really any story for that matter. As for the Son'a, well, we don't even know if they were really flying their ships or not, since all we seen were Klingons and the T"Zenkethi. Son'a prison and Son'a ships should mean the Son'a should be around, but nope.
Can't say I'm disappointed since my hopes for this episode was as low as the episode was boring.
it has a nice set, even if it's missing the cannon/ turret... again.
and the mission actually had a klingon feel to it and kept it up the whole time. the son'a dread put up a decent fight for a storyline mission. granted that is cause it took a minute for the npc fleet to get it's act together.
oh and a new bat'leth for my collection which is always nice.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

1. The stealth was for getting Martok out of his cell, not the escape
2. You missed the story blog that described why they are friends
Story blogs should not be required reading to understand the story IN THE GAME. The Stealth for getting Martok out wasn't stealth. You were ESCORTED RIGHT TO HIM.
Are we officially at war with the Son'a already that we can run stealth raids against them without forewarning?
Pretty sure we never officaly stopped being at war with them since The Dominion War/Insurrection Incidents.
And what about those Son'a that went back to the Bakul? Did everyone forget about them as well? Galnah (Spelling) went back, so doesn't that mean that the Son'a and the Bakul are allies to the Federation?

cause they had no idea you were armed and ready to blast your way out. what were you expecting assassin's creed? stealth more then hiding in shadow, turning invisible then just walking in. hiding that you shouldn't be there and tricking them to letting you or even helping you is a form of stealth too.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
Nice episode, but the rewards are even better - the last one looks for me like Disruptor Omni-Beam.
Though i think the current rewards are mixed up - the console should be in choices, and that torpedo launcher in constant rewards - i think
I liked this episode very much. Though I think the people complaining played it on their Feds. I played it on my Klingon and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a very Klingon episode. The very idea of Klingons using stealth is... unconventional? Yes, I'll go with that. It's a actually a good thing there were explosions and general chaos involved.
The space map was beautiful (on max graphics settings), lots of space dust swirling around my ship. I took quite a few screenshots on that first part. The combat on advanced difficulty was adequately challenging and I enjoyed it. I also liked the design of the prison facility itself, very atmospheric.
And THAT scene... The duel between Martok and Torg. That was SO KLINGON! Truly one of the best cut scenes in STO.
The only thing I think that should've been done better is the prison uniforms. I mean, really? Just reusing the uniforms from Temporal Ambassador? Tholian symbol and all?
I quite liked it. The animations in cutscenes were great, especially the duel, and the prison looked pretty.
I only have a few nitpicks:
-the optional to bypass the last group of Son'a ships should either be made mandatory or the ships should be moved elsewhere, because they're so close to the last mandatory group of enemies that you'll most likely engage or be engaged by them just after
-the Jem'Hadar was kinda pointless as he doesn't provide much to the story apart from being Martok's friend, even with the blog featuring him
-the Son'a wave at the end will most likely engage the players while they're still talking
-the invulnerability removal of the guards can be very wonky. I think invulnerability should be removed entirely to give the turrets a real usefulness. It's not like the guards offer a big chunk of XP by themselves
3 ) Torg is dead torg is dead took a bat'leth lopside his hea...i mean a dagger to his heart
4 ) The kurn revelation
The bad
1 ) Martoks VA was uninspiring felt phoned in tbh sounded less klingon and more human
2 ) The ground map looked as others have said looked rather bland
3 ) another place plot device A kill ave B wash rinse repeat mission
4 ) The focus on the jem'hadar was not needed since most players probably didnt read the blog so didnt understand martoks freindship with him.
The Ugly
1 ) the end as meh we had rodek "did martok just call me another mans name? oh well toodles"
2 ) Tholian prison uniforms...really cryptic? is it that hard to put a klingon emblem on the back of them or make them plain orange?
3 ) the beggining was dismal as a fed officer you have quin saying "hey w found martok lets go save him shall w ole chum?" really it shouldve been more finding the torg facility and finding martok by accident wouldve added more suspense.
4 ) overall lazy story telling which is startung to become the norm for cryptic AoY was good this not so much
Son'a fighters are a bit overpowered imo. Gave my klink a run for her money in her Mogh. SPOILERS BEYOND THI POINT IF YOU HAVENT PLAYED IT! You've been warned.
That being said I loved the story, the cutscenes, the sneak into the prison stunt. The epic fight aboard the ship, just about everyting was awesome. Even worf announcing himself the way he always does was brilliant. House Mogh coming back? I can't wait to see that one.
Now onto the negatives. A) Martok stops Rodek from saving the Jem'hedar but cries "NOOOOO" wen he dies. The frak, dude. Next Blowing up stuff as said before does not constitute stealth. But then again, Once a Klingon Always a Klingon, unless you're my delta recruit A'Keth who happens to be half Klingon. Go figure. But other than that, I don't have much else to add other than the mosquito fighters. And the above sections. I would like to see an FE get released where Quinn's mission anouncement voice isn't bugged out. Sadly I doubt that would ever happen.
Just my two cents. Break out the Bloodwine!
