my only solid complaint about them is this... .wee voth 2.0 for 6 episodes or so, then forgotten forevermore like every other "antagonist" race for the last 6yrs
True. More content around the Voth would be nice too.
to be honest id like an answer on whats happened to the Tal'shiar at this point im half imagining the iconions went all vader and killed them for failing them to many times.

That said, I wouldn't mind at all if we met a renegade faction of friendly Tzenkethi as contacts and allies, to break the mold a bit more.
While the concept is not entirely new to STO (most notably, the Voth doffs (and Nelen Exil) and Tholian and Hirogen doffs; also the Hierarchy and Jem'Hadar boffs)... yes, it'd be interesting to see how that's explained here. As a note, the possibly is also hinted at with respect to the Breen in their plot arc (quite aside from the boff I understand is occasionally spawned), but has been left dormant all this time.

True, but I meant more as regular speaking contacts than Doff cards and BOffs.
Like having Tzenkethi rebels giving you missions to help them depose the current murderous Autarch, as a reference to the DS9 episode The Adversary where the Founders tried to trick the Federation into a new war by claiming there was a coup d'état.
Shame that we didn't see the Tzenkethi in that DS9 episode or any other star trek film.

I wish they'd done it with the Voth. The resistance against the Ministry and Doctrine in general is mentioned, we get Doffs and a Boff but we never encounter the subfaction (or anything else of the Voth, that isn't an expedition fleet).
It seems the only time they do this, is with species like the Vaadwaur, who weren't a believable threat in the first place. They should do it with the real advanced species like the Voth and Undine, instead of just adding them as cannon fodder.
The cut scenes with Nelen Exil were nice, but there was so much more potential with some of these species.
From the sound of things, their racial psychology is such that a renegade Tzenketh would be about as common as a Ferengi running a nonprofit organization. (Yes, I'm stealing from Niven on this one - in my headcanon, "Tzenkethi" is plural, the singular is "Tzenketh". I mean, the name is half-stolen from the Kzinti anyway...)
...But I do want something that we haven't seen before- and humanoid and near humanoid in Star Trek has been done to death. Bored now, what something else. ...
That was nothing more than a in-setting reason to explain real life production limits and does nothing to limit non-human like races such as the Tholians and Medusans who just also happen to be canon.
Besides, we're in a MMO with the setting motto of "where no-man has gone before"- it's time to actually do just a bit of that now and then.

Actually, yes it did limit the appearance of non-humanoid species for the exact reason you specified. This is something that permeates Trek even today. Just look at the 50 new alien species created as an homage to Trek's 50th anniversary in "Star Trek Beyond".
Regardless, you can call it whatever you like, it's still part of the Trek canon that there are more humanoid races than not. Sure, there are non-humanoids out there. Personally, I believe the authors used non-humanoids sparingly for better story telling. A humanoid alien more is more easily relate-able to the average viewer than a Horta.

We're already doing that in game.
If you say so, but I'm seeing nothing here but retreading old ground. Big armored lizards- check. Ships that fit right in with the Voth fleet without batting a eye- check.
I'm hoping these guys bring a different play experience to the table, but I don't have any reason to believe in the Cryptic Easter Bunny suddenly becoming real.
those designs remind me of "Silent Death: the Next Millimium" ship blueprints.
small fighters look like "Blizzard", and large ships would be "Sunrunners"/"Yokoshan:Warworld" hybrids.
it was tabletop miniature space war game. the storyline of that game take place around 10,000 years in future, good game until they went bankrupted, nearly destroyed by Tolkien Estates for Lords of the Rings, the Rolemasters edition and the card game, when they sue them.
ICE lost 70% of thier products, still hold original Rolemasters as short of generic role play game, they are attemping to recover Silent Death from other firm, since that firm also went broke when they failed to host Silent Death online 10 years ago, about to resell back to ICE. the cost is too deep.
I look forward to new stories and new content. Praise for the art design of this new race is hard to understand though. It looks cool, but the aliens look straight out of Halo, and the ships are pretty standard 70s Anime space opera. I do not mind this at all, it's all certainly easy on the eyes, but pretty far from original if we're honest.
"I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am."
Really disliking the 'Voth 2.0' Tzenkethi. I thought we were going to get T6 Tal Shiar boxes, and T6 Elachi, not this strange reptilian stuff again. Grr.

We likely will get T6 Elachi ships.
When they added the T6 Jem'Hadar ships, they didn't release a Dominion 2 lock box either. So it's possible that they'll just add those Elachi ship anyway, we may not need a new box for that.

Where do you go from defeating the Iconians? These guys...? Nice try... but no dice. The next step up would be taking on Qs but they would win with a thought. They should have saved the Iconian card. They didn't flesh out the borg nor use them to their full potential
The first Belfast was commanded by Captain Ve'Kal Shon until its destruction in 2409. A new ship was commissioned bearing the same name and registry as special dispensation to then newly promoted Captain Edward XIII for his pivotal role during the renewed Dominion War.

Very nice looking ships indeed... I might suddenly be interested in flying alien ships again.
