think of it this way, the federation get one free leveling ship with AoY, the rest they have to fork out the dollars for, atleast KDF players arent geting fleeced by the ferengis at cryptic lol.
Nope. TOS faction gets leveling ships at 10+ that are the same as Feds. (because they join them by then)
So its not an actual faction , just a expansion of content nothing more
Correct.
In the same interview where Geko mentioned that our TOS characters would be "at least as much a faction as Romulans" he also mentioned that marketing wanted to avoid that term... for good reason. We are getting an alternative Fed tutorial, rather than a full faction, it's just that some folks are taking Geko at his word despite knowing that he has a tendency to choose those words badly. The connotation a player (or marketing) might attach to the term "faction" is likely different from what Geko might consider it to be, especially given his stated preference for Fed content, etc. I'm willing to laugh this one off, despite how entertaining the memes were last time; it's just his enthusiasm for the subject getting the better of him.
If anything, it's probably better to think of it as a more specific version of the Delta Recruitment we had aways back.
Aight well although its nice, i doubt i will put much time or effort into another delta recruit or whatever they are calling it.
i would hold off on that decision if i were you...you haven't seen the unlockable rewards yet
Yup. Even if you aren't a Fed-only/Fed-primary player, account unlocks are something to go for... and even in such a limited form it's still new content. Play it for lolz and profit, then go back to your "mains" afterward.
I get the feeling from the rumors that once we see what the qualifications are to get those unlocks, enthusiasm will cool a bit.

it would be really nice if those ships could share the skins of current century counterparts:
to be precise I have two in mind - research science vessel for temporal science ships and heavy cruiser for temporal cruisers.....
it woudl be so nice that I'd buy both temporal cruisers out of the bat :P
Awww man, the Paladin BATTLECruiser has a 4/4 weapons layout, I was really hoping for a 5/3
It's definitely going to require a different build and playstyle than an Arbiter, with the 4/4 layout and only 4 tactical consoles. Should be fun to puzzle out.
New shots of these from ZEFilms!! Oh my they really look even better in context. The ships look just so sleek. I am very pleased with my preorder at this point. Thank you mightily, Devs!
Better, but still not quite sold on these enough to purchase the Temporal Special Agent Pack yet.
Nautilus - Like everything about it. I could see myself wanting one.
Theseus - Temporal Rift Warhead. Could care less about the rest of it. Aside from the temporal agent seats, this is really not different from any other T6 escort and I have no desire for the Starship Trait tied to a BOFF skill I never use.
Sagittarius - Somewhat interested in the Starship Trait, but otherwise this isn't sufficiently different from any other T6 cruiser to grab my interest.
Paladin - I don't have any other battlecruisers in my lineup and this looks like a good ship, so I'm somewhat interested if I can slap a Ranger skin on it. Won't go out of my way to do that, though.
The score:
TOS T1-T5: 0, the only way I'll ever get these is if the pack adds enough value to make sense for me to buy.
I like the designs better now we've seen the 3-way views and "action shots", looked oddly flat to me before. Still not sure about the default skin, although that's easily altered by the owner of course.
My plan's to eventually use the Paladin w/ TOS skin on my AOY characters and the Paladin as-is on one of my current Feds (it seems flexible enough to support several different build types). Which is lucky since I already picked up one "cheap" as part of the Starter Pack
Got to say though, that Perseus looks like it could be a nasty little bugger with all the Temporal/Sci stuff you can throw into it.

I doubt any of those older skins would work on these.
I'd be happy if they just provided alternate skins like they do most other ships. If there's a Veteran skin option, that would be enough for me
Since im only seeing one free leveling ship with AoY, i wont be calling this a actual faction, unless someone at cryptic would like to tell us that there is more then just the pioneer class for free leveling ships.
If not then call it what it is , a content expansion NOT a faction.
I agree with this as well. As of what we know. My Captain will be using regular ships. Starting with the TOS Connie since I already bought that. Then go from there. Finally ending with the Excelsior. Unless things change until then.
After lv10 its basically a Delta Recruit event. From what we heard so far.
USS Casinghead NCC 92047 launched 2350
Fleet Admiral Stowe - Dominion War Vet.
Just my two bits; since STO is an RPG (role-playing game) as well as an MMO, would you at Cryptic / PWE mind posting the crew numbers for all these ships even though crew isn't an in-game mechanic anymore? As a player for the past 6 years, I've written independent Captains Logs, story arcs of my own, and a tad of fan fiction centered around my Wells Temporal Science Vessel, how I rose in ranks from a Lt. aboard the USS Alaska and was there when the Borg assaulted the Vegya colony. I love my character to death, and if I'm going to be moving up to a new Sagittarius-class Temporal Cruiser, I'd love to know how many shall be serving underneath me. Thanks Cryptic, and keep up the good work!!!
My feedback on this is that for one the alts that I have I'm not going to devote the time to the unfriendliness of how specializations and ship mastery works. So as starting a new alt for these new faction I gotta take a pass. Being an avid Star Trek fan I love these ships but at the same time the dilithium exchange rate being so high as well as I have very few federation compared to my massive amount of KDF characters which seem to be taking the back seat for this expansion so just too many things working against me to want to purchase any of these.
I'm not mad or anything I just feel there needs to be work done to make it friendly to those of us who have been around a long time and have so many characters that current alts just become storage characters/mules now. So all this being said I truly believe something should have been done prior to the launching of this alts and KDF as well to make all of this worth obtaining. They are beautiful ships but I just can't justify the amount of resources real money or game money to get into this.
I for one love the sleekness of these 26th century ships. But I'm not quite sure I even want to really take part of this new fraction/delta recruit event 2.0.
Incorporating 23rd century designs in the game is more or less believable, but justifying not only 26th century ships but also C-store available 31st century ones is pushing well beyond my suspension of disbelief.

Hello Cryptic, Why are the Battle Cruisers not set up the same as the other Fed Battle Cruisers with a 5 fore and 3 aft weapons slots u said was the standard layout and with dual cannon placements enabled?
When i first so the new t6 ships i was like wow thay look very nice, im deffinitly buying one i saved up my zen i couldent diside crusser or battle crusser. so i disided to what and see the stats. and now im not going to buy them at all. way are the Hull Strength so low, are the ships small or something. and i thought we were past the need for fleet versions, you might as well make the T6 U's and sell the uprade token in the zen store like the T5 u tokens. most people cant even get fleet ships becose there fleet is to small to level up the fleet. or the fleet is to big and it takes for ever to get the requsitions from the fleet projects, or if your like me you put lots of time and effert into the fleet projects and then get kicked becouse you where one of the last people to join and the fleet was "TOO BIG". If that wasent so bad the stat diferince is not that much. and you cant you need both ships to get 11 console slots, a little more hull, the universol console, and the star ship trait. But still with the stats of the new "T6 temopral" ship fleet or non fleet, Im glad i dident wast 200 dollers on a ship pack with ships im not going to use. the new flag ships have better stats then the 2 new cruisers. so hopefully the Temporal Dreadnought Cruiser is actualy a dreadnought and there is no fleet verson. I still like the looks of the new ships but the stat regeshon and the fleet versons not much better i will have to pass.

Hate to say it, but none of the ships in the pack will be fleet grade; the ships that are fleet grade out of the box are the 3/6/9 pack ones, lockbox ships, and event reward ships. These are all treated like individual sale ships, just like all the other expansion bundle ships have been, meaning you will have to buy the fleet version separately.
On the bright side, you can just join the NOP Public Service channel in game and ask around for a while and eventually someone will let you come in and buy a ship. It might take a while, but there are quite a few fleets out there that would be glad to let you in and use their provisions, and/or let you join for good.
the Flagship Star Cruisers T6 and Command Battlecruisers T6 dont have a fleet versons and thay have better stats then the new fleet ships. so why would i buy the new fleet t6's

Both are part of the 3/9-Packs @jaturnley mentioned, and are therefore "Fleet-equivalent" at T6-11; standard C-Store ships are T6-10, and offer owners of the C-Store version a Fleet Ship Module discount (translated to a 1 FSM cost) when upgrading to Fleet T6-11 versions. For example, the Intel Ships are the only Specialization ships that were not offered as a Faction (3-Pack)/Mega (9-Pack) Bundle... and are therefore come stock T6-10 with a Fleet T6-11 version available as a single-character unlock (minus the special console/weapon and Starship Trait).
As to why you'd buy the new ships when you already have T6-11's available... well, maybe you like the design or stats, maybe you want the Starship Trait (though not if you jump straight to Fleet T6-11), maybe you just really like what is available in AoY and feel like giving the devs a monetary reward. Personally, I might get myself one of the "faction agnostic" ships (I'm considering the Temporal MMSV because there are no other C-Store Science Vessels available to the KDF/Roms), though my own preferences eliminate purchasing standalone Fed offerings. Whatever your reasons for a purchase, they are yours to decide, and it's up to the devs to coax that wallet open; if this time doesn't do it, maybe they'll make something next time.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

well seeing then not mentioning it a all and knowing cryptic I would not be much surprised if they just forgot that however you look at this between daedalus class and nautilus class there is olympic class, and between gemini and sagitarius there is whole bunch of types rolled out as "heavy cruiser" class [consisting constelation, stargazer and dakota types if memory serves well]
it would be logical to have the T6s being able to use costumes from these although if cryptic has realised that these ships were around before is a thing to see
[although I must note that saggiatrius being able to use stargazer skin pieces and nautilus having access to olympic class skins would make those ships in both variants an instant buy for me - at least as soon as I'll have nuf moniez to spare :P]
So.. can our regular Feds use these, or is it the new faction only? Asking out of curiosity as I have zero interest in any of these.
The Nautilus class say it comes with a "Console – Universal – Temporal Destabilizer Probe" and further down on that same blog it lists the Nautilus console as "Console - Universal - Nanoprobe Containment Module. The Tier 6 Temporal Science Vessel comes equipped with the Nanoprobe Containment Module."
I'm not quite sure I even want to really take part of this new fraction/delta recruit event 2.0.

I have to agree: once we see the list of 'repeat the same content and grind everything all over again from scratch' I really don't think any reward will be worth it since at this point it's all been done before 9+ times multiplied by repeats for multiple items and whatever weekly bonuses, plus the lack of anything to do with any more rewards considering the state of End-game, on top of 'Fed-only Delta Recruit 2.0.'
Lobi and lockbox ships that have been salvaged out of exotic alien technology of the future/mirror universe/other dimension/etc., is one thing, but C-Store ships built by the Feds of the future available to be piloted now is just too much to believe, and really throws all logic out the window.
I liked the timetravel aspects of ST, but this is taking it too far outside of what Star Trek is about, and making it into a fantasy game where timetravel alterations means anything goes on a continuous basis which is now standard operating procedure.
