It's a shame I find the Nautilus so crazy ugly! LOL! I'm sure there are plenty of folks who find it attractive though, so I won't presume to declare it objectively ugly.
I'm one of those folks who likes it.
As a matter of fact, I think the Nautilus is the only good looking ship of the 26th Century bunch. If I get the pack, I'll be flying the retro look on all these T6 ships, aside from the Nautilus.
Which is a good thing since the Daedalus is kind of ugly to me. But as you said...

Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
This is a mistake with the blog that should be corrected shortly. Purchasing ships will not lock you out of purchasing the Special Agent pack.
Awesome! Glad to hear, thank you! Just for that I MIGHT even consider picking up the Nautilus, will have to see, am saving Zen in the hopes that one day there will be a tier 6 Sovereign
Let us upgrade the Seleya Ceremonial Lirpa and Kri'stak Blade
with a new bridge for the 26th Century Temporal ships, does that also mean it will be the same bridge can/will be used on the cross-faction ships included with the Agents of Yesterday pack? or will the Cross-Faction ships get their own bridges as well? either way I CAN'T WAIT!!!
I have a feeling that, being from the same period as the Wells and Mobius that they will use those bridges.
Actually, yer off by a few centuries: the Wells-class is a 29th century starship, not 26th. It's contemporaries would be the Eternal, Chronos, and Ouroboros class ships.
Love the artwork of the new ship designs, love the stats for them as well; can't wait to try them out.
However, I did notice something (or rather a lack of) on the Paladin-class Battlecruiser. Since this is more of a tactical oriented vessel, shouldn't it have the ability to utilize Dual/Heavy cannons?; I couldn't help notice that fact missing from the stats of this ship.
This is potentially a typo, as it seems the Paladin otherwise has the Cruiser Command set-up and Ability Package of a battlecruiser. One can infer that it will be perfectly capable of equipping heavy cannon weaponry.

think of it this way, the federation get one free leveling ship with AoY, the rest they have to fork out the dollars for, atleast KDF players arent geting fleeced by the ferengis at cryptic lol.

Not quite. Eternal, Chronos and Ouruboros are 31st century ships, not 29th. So not in the same family as the Wells, Mobius and Paradox.
Technically they're all Federation ships, we just get a few that are "faction agnostic"... though of course those are the ships that most interest me. Among other thing, the stats on those will pretty much decide whether full Temporal Operative Specialization abilities (Molecular Reconstruction Mechanic, Cmdr Hybrid/Temporal Operative seating) will be limited to our Federation captains or if we'll have a few options for our non-Feds. I was really hoping to get the stats on those with the rest of the T6 ships... oh well.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
IS there console synergy from Equipping both consoles from each paired 23rd century & 26th century ship. Like a 2pc set from the Ranger & Paladin for example?????
I feel like this could make or break me buying any of this. I need that incentive to buy a lower tier 23rd century ship, not going to spend money on a ship i wont fly just for the skin.
think of it this way, the federation get one free leveling ship with AoY, the rest they have to fork out the dollars for, atleast KDF players arent geting fleeced by the ferengis at cryptic lol.
Nope. TOS faction gets leveling ships at 10+ that are the same as Feds. (because they join them by then)
Since im only seeing one free leveling ship with AoY, i wont be calling this a actual faction, unless someone at cryptic would like to tell us that there is more then just the pioneer class for free leveling ships.
If not then call it what it is , a content expansion NOT a faction.
After seing more angles of those ships, i cannot belive how ugly they are. Especially the Sagitarius Class looks almost disturbing, but Theseus and Paladin look similar weird. The only angle from where they look good is from the front, where saucer and rest of the ship are visualy more balanced to each other. But from any other point of view the ships "saucers" are rediculusly undersized which gives those ships a strange and distorted kind of look. I'm seriously disappointed by the design team i would have though that after all those years they have finally got a feel for a good looking Star Trek ship. They could certainly do better than this.
To me, the only reason to buy them would be to put TOS skins on them or because of some of their abilities or other toys that come with them, but to be honest those are not that good to justify to look at that "designs" all the time.

I like the Improved Polarized Hull starship trait. Definitely going to the this pack when I get some Zen. Not sure when that will be. Any chance we can use the other skins on these ships. Would love to have the Theseus-class escort use the Miranda/Centaur skin.

It's a faction from a mechanics standpoint. You get TOS-specific dialog options in missions, like the KDF and Romulans sometimes get, you get different UI aesthetics and beam out animations, etc. It does not have as many exclusive missions as the Romulans have. So kinda a half of a faction the way I look at it.
It makes sense, really, from a content standpoint. Rather than locking the majority of the expansion behind one faction like the Romulan content is, everyone gets almost all of the new content this time. It's not as satisfying as the Romulans, but in the end, most people went back to playing their normal Fed toons after they played through the Rom arcs once anyway (the numbers don't lie) so spending a bunch of time on missions that were essentially a throw-away, they chose to spend time on universal content.
Are there any kitbashing options, or is it just "pick TOS or pick 26th Century"?
I think the ships look really well made, even though I am not quite certain that I like the looks of them.
But this image kinda dampens the mood a bit:
If you need to find an area where you need to work on your game engine and graphics, I think this should be one - weapon effects often just don't fit the ships and weapon nodes they come from.
SFX shining through the ship's hull also just doesn't quite work for me. (Though the beam looks really cool.)

In the same interview where Geko mentioned that our TOS characters would be "at least as much a faction as Romulans" he also mentioned that marketing wanted to avoid that term... for good reason. We are getting an alternative Fed tutorial, rather than a full faction, it's just that some folks are taking Geko at his word despite knowing that he has a tendency to choose those words badly. The connotation a player (or marketing) might attach to the term "faction" is likely different from what Geko might consider it to be, especially given his stated preference for Fed content, etc. I'm willing to laugh this one off, despite how entertaining the memes were last time; it's just his enthusiasm for the subject getting the better of him.
If anything, it's probably better to think of it as a more specific version of the Delta Recruitment we had aways back.

They get some missions on their own and then they're folded into a bigger faction. Sound like 'at least as much a faction as Romulans' to me.

idc at this point what he rewards are, when they put it as a faction in an official release not just what geko said but on an official release, that AoY was gonna be a ToS faction i was pumped, only to be let down by cryptic again.
theres not much more i can expect from the game, or to get excited about i still say the game peaked with LoR, were never going to see anything of that magnitude ever again sadly.
But i was hopinh fr miracles but those dont happen, anyways i wont be putting any real effort into it , if i even roll a toon for AoY at all.
BOff & console distribution, ship consoles and traits. A solid layout on each, imo; also liking the beauty shots
Got my eyes on the cruiser and battlecruiser, and maybe one of the cross faction ones. I'm felling pretty comfortable in the ships I fly @ the moment, so not sure if I'll get them though.

Yup. Even if you aren't a Fed-only/Fed-primary player, account unlocks are something to go for... and even in such a limited form it's still new content. Play it for lolz and profit, then go back to your "mains" afterward.
I do agree that, from what we know, this isn't looking as ambitious or distinctive as LoR... but with the potential revenue from STC we might see more resources available for content of that quality. That's longer term, but hopefully it works out. We'll just have to wait and see.

Hmmm, the Nautilus looks quite interesting to me as a Sci-boat captain. It's essentially a tac heavy science ship like the Vesta was so that sounds quite nice. Not too sure on the looks though, i'd like to see what sort of options it has for customization outside of having to buy another older ship (the Daedalus).
The rest of them I just don't like the look at all, though that Temporal escort does look pretty decent stats wise.
