Disney/Lucasfilm made the call to scrap the EU (thankfully) not JJ. JJ had not even been hired yet when that decision was made.

Ah ok, it had been my understanding that it got canned because JJ whined that he couldn't tell the story he wanted to tell with the EU being cannon. Canon? I can never recall which is which. Regardless, with Trek he still did what he wanted with little respect of what came before, so, yeah, still a little not ok with them.

I still think that was a mistake. They could have streamlined it to a extent.
I still it would have been possible to make a seventh movie from it. Many of the EU characters are dead and they wouldn't have to refer to any of the stuff that came before if the story was very different. We got IV to VI before the prequels after all.

Also, since its safe to say now that we'll get 0718 in the game, I even more want to get Brent Spiner in. Not only to have a stand alone Data mission, but to have one with him, 0718, and the Doctor. Maybe have them deal with the Automated Personnel Units, or the STO timeline's version of the alien force that made 0718, or some other appropriate thing.

Just thought about three artificial (or partially artificial) characters being in one mission together, and in my head I heard all 3 of them say things like:

"You're carrying some very dangerous items"

    "I'm just trying to help"

All I see, over the last few months, here and Facebook is something along the lines of:

    Wahh we want more content!!!!!!!!

    and now...?

    Wahh JJVerse content!!!!!!!!!

It's pathetic... I hate TOS, hasn't stopped me looking forward to that content, nor has it put me in a rage fit over various media platforms. It's a game, an MMO based of arguably one of the biggest franchises ever... There will be stuff you like and dislike about it, throwing a hissy fit and "leaving" game or ignoring content is pathetic at best.

JJHaters, I can imagine if Cryptic told you that JJPrise is now and always will be THE best ship in the game but can only use JJ costume you'd buy it. Don't lie.

I wanted a playable Cardassian faction, we got JJ and Dr Who, I don't believe either should be meshed with STO.

Well thats your opinion, however, I don't think that word means what you think it means. My son is autistic and I can't for the life of me figure out how that can be used as an adjective for CBS. Regardless, my opinion is that CBS is finally starting to make some good decisions about Trek, somebody must have surgically removed Moonves head from his ****.

    No. They just said:

Studio Exec: Hey Les, Star Wars just made 2.5 BILLION dollars at the Box Office. It's been 10 years since Star Trek was on TV - and we can tie it into the 50th anniversary of the franchise and cross market the hell out of it...what do you say?

    Les Moonves: ]Soo, Money?

    Studio Exec: Yes!

Les Moonves: Do it. Hell, if we could get people to spend for Test Pattern memorabilia and watch that 24 hours a day, I'd greenlight that too.

My opinion, and the opinion of about a good chunk of the people here. And I am sorry words confuse and offend you. I think there was a quote from Uhura in the TOS that said something equivalent to "We are not afraid of words, only actions". And to be honest, I am not afraid of words, so sorry if you are.

While I am no fan of the JJverse, this is going to make for intriguing gameplay. I wonder how long it will take for the JJverse Enterprise to be available for sale.

Ugh. As awesome as Rey may be, her existence does NOT make it ok that he basically *expletive deleted* away the EU like it was nothing. Mara Jade? Gone. And I'm sorry, but no, it was Luke's kid named Ben, not Leia's. Leia's kids were Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin.

How would he like it if someone messed up Alias or Lost or Felicity? JJ Abrams needs to be held accountable for the destruction of Romulus and Remus.
The EU WAS nothing. Lucas said many times only the movies were actually canon.

The EU stuff for Star Wars was only ever as canon as the EU stuff for Star Trek is.... which is to say not at all.

People make too muss fuss on what's canon or not. If you like the story, that's all that matters.

Sometimes the EU type stuff is better than the garbage that the people who makes the decision on canon come out with.

The Delphic Expanse = Awesome mission.
The Rising of the Delta is the best expansion ever, and people love it to death because it is a good day to die in the endless struggle for supremacy of your own conviction. (A spin off of the Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and all the players love it.)

I've played many horror games, and watched many more horror movies, but nothing has made me experience terror like Alien: Isolation. That game actually gave me nightmares. I got the idea for a forum sig some time ago using those characters (minus the JJ character, was picturing 7 of 9 originally) saying lines like that while walking towards the "camera", with drool dropping down from overhead, set either on DS9 or Ent-E. I'm no artist though so I'm not able to do it justice.

Anyways, I'm excited about the JJ news, especially if we can get those uniforms for our TOS toons.

I have a feeling the blending will be temporary for a single mission and the lock box ships. I seriously doubt they've gotten the rights to completely integrate the JJ-verse into STO as some kind of mini-area. Though, I suppose if they repurposed the TOS zone on Tribble they could do it.

Alien: Isolation was the first game I never finished. All the jumpscares were seriously TRIBBLE with my anxiety. I couldn't go 2 levels without having shakey hands for hours after. Which, honestly, makes it a pretty awesome game for what it was made for.

If they bring in the AR Enterprise and the Vengeance, I'm curious how large they'll be. Will they really go 730+ meters for the Connie and nearly 1500m for the Vengeance? That would be the size of DS9!

The Vengeance would be roughly the size of the Jupiter Class, if STO sticks to canon sizes. At least, in terms of overall length.

DS9 is really the only show they dont have a lot of content for,
There's another show that they have ZERO content for currently but are in talks to map out some content for it. I bet that's where this game is headed.
