I only have one thing to say about this. The Gal-X lance base dmg needs a buff and so does its accuracy. If you cryptic can not guarantee the said, i think its fair to say most of us will not be dropping our hard earned $ in this TRIBBLE economy on a repackaged pile of pixels.
There's a plethora of high hitting 1 shot kill options in game (space) , the gal-x lance needs to be on that list. This is now the chance to do the Gal-x right. so far its been everything but the federations "Dreadnought" cruiser.

Yeah, it's not likely going to happen. See, it's a built-in weapon, rather than a console weapon like all other lances. Therefore, instead of having to sacrifice a console slot or two for a lance or lance bonus ability, you have to sacrifice a console slot for an accuracy-boosting console or two.
It's called balance. It may receive either a damage buff or an accuracy buff, but definitely not both.

Unlikely to happen either, at least, on the Yamato. You know what else is considered a dreadnought though? The Odyssey-class (at least, the NPC forms are considered Dreadnoughts). AND she's also part of a Flagship set, like the Scimitar. So a T6 Odyssey would be more likely to get 5 consoles on the Tac variant than the Yamato. Although I doubt it will happen at all. Then again, The Tac Bortasqu has 5 Tac consoles and is also a Flagship like the Scimitar, so it's the Odyssey Tac variant that's the odd one out.
Even the Tac-centric Eclipse and Avenger, which are arguably better and more flexible than the Yamato don't get 5 Tac consoles. 4 is the most realistic, then maybe hoping for an extra Science console slot to slot another Embassy Console on.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. :P
There has been no official launch date mentioned for Season 11 thus far, which means it's very unlikely to be released next week. Also, though not set in stone, it's more common for major content updates to get released on a Tuesday to allow time for emergency patches for any unexpected bugs before the weekend.
I wouldn't be surprised to see it released sometime in November, based solely on previous season release dates and the current content on Tribble.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.

They said season 11 was being released in October. You're right that usually they release new seasons and expansions on Tuesdays. So I'm guessing October 20th or 27th.

Where did they say October? All the official information I've seen so far has just said "this fall", with the exception of an article from Borticus on StarTrek.com which was released October 2nd and ended with "scheduled for release next month".
Not saying I'd be disappointed with an October release, especially the 27th as that's my birthday. But I'm still thinking more towards November, possibly the 3rd or the 10th. The 10th would tie in with two previous season releases.

I agree. Tuesdays are usually the kick off for new seasons and combined with the massive arc maintenance on the 13th if i had to guess I'd go for the 20th.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Edit: That interview could have been conducted at the very end of September but wasn't posted until October 2nd. If that was the case, then at the time he said "next month" he would have meant October.
Cryptic Studios is coming off a five year story arc for Star Trek Online, one that saw the Iconian thread woven throughout all other arcs throughout the years. With Season 11: New Dawn set to launch in October, Executive Producer Steve Ricossa is very much looking forward to players getting to see where STO is going next. We had the chance to sit down with Steve to hear more about Season 11 and Cryptic’s return to story.

That did cross my mind, though it was posted by Borticus so I wasn't overly sure. Does sound promising for October release based solely on Salami's tweet though. I really would have expected a date to be posted in a Dev blog about it if it were that close though. But then, there's still a lot of content which hasn't made it's way to Tribble yet so perhaps they are waiting in case there are unexpected issues.
The Dev blog from today about the bonus event weeks does add to my speculation that it'll be a November release though. But, having said that, they may have decided not to go with a November release date this time round because of Fallout 4 releasing on the 10th of November haha. That'd probably hamper first week logins. Shall just have to wait and see I guess.

Not a bad ship, but my Presidio Command Battlecruiser is almost on par with the Fleet Dreadnought Cruiser T6. I think its a good ship and i love the design, but its not worth the small different for me. So ill take a pass for now.
also the Carrier we are helping design might be better

Yeah. Plans are always subject to change. I was just going by what the head person at Cryptic tweeted and so was everyone else.
As for the T6 dreadnaughts, I'm gonna buy the bundle. Been looking forward to a T6 Gal-X for a while now and the other 2 ships look interesting.

It would also be nice to have a Lance Modification Slot for a craftable console to allow the Lance use other weapon types. Definitely a missed opportunity here!
The lance attacks need to be treated like beam overloads and always crit without tweaking their damage numbers. This is especially true for the Klingon Kolasi Dreadnought as you lose a lot of damage during the forced transformation after firing in which you can't fire any weapons. So a very strong hit is justifiable.
It certainly needs to be updated to season 11 standards. A 10k hit that misses 4 out of 5 tries every several minutes is not exactly superweapon and selling point.
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”

This.
As I said a few posts back, the only impressive thing about the old lance was it's ability to miss even the largest targets.
That lance is one of the selling points for the Yamato. And by the looks of it, due to nothing to contradict it, it'll have a copy-paste of the T5 ship's disappointing lance. And a weapon that stands a 90% chance of missing, and suffers from a fairly long cooldown afterward, just isn't worth it and as things stand, it's enough to convince me to keep my Zen & stick with my Andromedia.
Yeah. Darn thing can't hit the broad side of an asteroid.
You'd think with the launch of a new ship like this, they'd at least address the fact that the old version of the weapon missed all of the time. That is, if they actually want to sell this as well as they could (by simply fixing the lance and telling people that's exactly what they did). Otherwise, another potential ship that gets mothballed by people not finding a reason to want to buy it.
Example: I was about to buy it when I got home. Now, not so much.

Again, the lance is fixed and doesn't take up a slot, console or weapon. So that's already a major advantage. Sure, the fixed lances could use a bit of accuracy, but it should not be 100%, and should not be on the same accuracy level as the console lances. Even the console lances aren't 100%.
Of course, it would be a fair trade-off if Cryptic made it so that moving at low speed impulse or stopped increases the accuracy of the lance to that of a console lance, while moving fast leaves it with low accuracy. Fair enough balance for a free weapon that doesn't take up a slot.
Let's see, the consoles not being able to be equipped. The Lance glitch not fixed. And on top of it, the BOFF seating is the same as that of the T6 Galaxy. Yep, well worth the money invested.
Honestly as some of you have said, until someone comes out and says acc is fixed. I'm not buying it. And I read a great idea here about the lance wep type being changeable. The mere fact your stuck using phasers is depressing. I personally main [dis] & really don't intend on dropping any more into R&D for mk13-14 phasers.
All in all, think I'm going to pass. Hopefully the t6 sovy is worth the money

Actually someone did just that already in one of the general chat threads.

For ships that have a Lance, there should be a special Beam Overload 4 attached to these weapons. I mean, it just should be. I don't think cryptic understands the nostalgia factor assosiated with the Galaxy-X. Have they not seen "All Good Things".
To be honest, the back and forth rant between cryptic and the players begging for justice to be given to the Gal-X is getting old. I'm ready to just throw my hands up and say F$?% it !!! Maybe one more chance for cryptic to get it right but since they haven't, whatever they do it needs to be epic or I'm just considering cryptic a epic fail when it comes to the Gal-X and moving on.
