We don't want what the Feds have. We want the equivalent. We want fairer treatment. Concern, desire, greed to some extent, and passionate belief that the enough people would buy KDF items to make it worth Cryptic's while.
It is clearly stated in the official announcement that the "new" Admirality system is "doffing with ships":
Beyond the new Star Trek lore in Season 11, Star Trek Online will also receive gameplay updates, among them the aforementioned Admiralty system. That will enable players to utilize ships to complete assignments similar to the current Duty Officer system.
And because most of the "new features" in STO ara clones of Neverwinter functions it seem to be pretty obvious that it will be a clone of Neverwinters Sword Coast Adventures.
Just another little Clicky Game. Hihi... a little "Joke": maybe PWE is leaving and Zynga is purchasing STO... more Clickys - on to STOVille!
Would this be tongue-in-cheek here, or is it something that's been quietly hinted at or leaked or something? I'd actually be really intrigued if Wes was to make a couple of appearances in a few episodes.

I doubt it.
A Cryptic would want him to play Wesley Crusher, and he would not want that. At least that's what i heard.
b Wil is busy voicing the player character in Firefly Online.
As someone who has no major problem with the DOFF system, the Admiralty system is a pleasant addition to the game.
Just to be clear, does "no major problem" mean you like it? Because saying you have "no major problem" with something is not exactly a ringing endorsement.
Shouldn't this be 10.6 or something? Season 10.5 was only released roughly 3 months ago.
Season 10.5 was released 1 month ago. This was the announcement which means that it'll probably be a October/November Release like Season 8 & Delta Rising.
Sheesh, time crawls when you're not having fun. Feels like at least 3 months.
Finding the whole iconian war lacking and to be honest i wish they finished it already.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I'm an honest man, I keep my promises and I promised a few "Tales of the War" back that if the Iconians end up going down easy, just having to find "The Other" or something like that, I was gonna scream...
ARRRGH!!
...Less than a dozen episodes... less than ten episodes... the big, bad, Undine-Manipulating, Romulus-destroying, Dyson Sphere-controlling, Gateway network-owning, took the whole galaxy just to drive them away 200,000 years ago "Demons of Air and Darkness"... and we 'beat' them in less than ten episodes after they show their face?
It took us longer to deal with the Undine (from pre-game to "Mindscape")! With Hakeev! With the Vaadwaur! The Iconians were supposed to be the big-bads with five years of build up and they go down this quick? I don't know if you can make 'New Dawn' good enough to make up for this anti-climax...
I'm hoping we get at least 2 or 3 more episodes in the current arc, or else it will be a rather disappointing arc.
I'm also hoping that the incompetent, narcissistic, sociopathic, condescending halfwit that is Sela has nothing to do with the resolution of the arc, but that instead, I get to finally shoot her in the face soon. She is an escaped prisoner, after all, accused (and guilty) of crimes against peace, crimes against Romulanity, crimes against Remanity, failure to discharge command responsibility, and a host of other crimes.
At least two, especially since the S11 teaser says it's a 5 year long war, and we are like a few months into it at this point.
and yes, getting to finally rid ourselves of Sela would be fantastic, especially if we get to pull the trigger.
ruff, meow, moo, whatever.... *shrug* [ Still Waiting for a Shiny New T6 Romulan Science Ship to Command ]
I honestly do not care how they impliment it, I am happy that something is being done with my ship roster other then looking at them and saying "my presiouses". I hope to hell they do something with the ground and space traits! Tired of having to exit a episode to change between ground or space!
The traveller already made its appearance in the Azure Nebula with Temporal Ambassador.

It means I don't dislike it. Could it be better? Sure. I'd like to see longer missions and/or ones of higher rarity get proportionately better rewards. I know Geko mentioned it in an interview with Priority One, but it doesn't seem to have come about yet.
Why a big deal if it's like the doff system? Doffs are great, let's us use our ships, and is realistic as we can finally be an Admiral and fly a computer console.
Many seem to be assuming that this small teaser of S11 means the Iconian Story will end in the next mission or 2. This was just a SMALL hint at what S11 will be. If history plays out correctly S11 will drop in November-early decemberish. Which means they could easily do 3 or 4 more missions. The next episode should be due out next week,, then 3-4 weeks later another... that brings us to October,, so its possible to have at least 3 more missions. Unless of course S11 drops in October. I personally think the Iconian war missions have been pretty darned good. I've had a reason to update the gear on all my characters and experiment with different ship builds. Frankly for me its brought back some of the interest in STO. Plus running 3 Delta's the earlier story arc has been a bit challenging because of the way the baddies get SOOOOO many HP's the closer I get to lvl 60. Im looking forward to season 11, and although it is possible the Admiralty system will be more click grindy doffy stuff,,, I'm going to reserve judgment until more than just a two paragraph teaser hits the airwaves. BRING ON THE NEW BADDIES! BRING ON NEW MISSIONS!!! BRING ON NEW GRINDY CLICKY,, ow wait,,,,,,

So yeah the war is over thats it eh? what couldve been a much better scenario gets the craptic treatment "lookie a new war" 4-5 missions later "wars over moving on . but HEY ANOTHER WAR" 3-4 misions later "wars over moving on to ...another war" 2-3 missions later "wars over but weregona have hope and rebuild and a traveler and...another warYAY US!!"
Why even bother with "Wars" if your not going to let them play out and just give up and say war over everytime you want to fleece our damn wallets cryptic?
Strange enough, I had my toon think along the lines of Season 11. Our largest enemy is now gone. It's time to solidify our alliances and ensure peace throughout the galaxy, which means getting back to one of Starfleet's basics: exploration. Hopefully this will also open the doors to the Gamma Quadrant (I've always wanted to explore that area) and see just how the Dominion handled the Iconian threat, if at all.
Oh, so we do survive and defeat the Iconians? You've spoilt that cliffhanger devs! I wasn't sure my character was going to survive till the next season but now you've given it away.
What made you think that your character would not survive this "war" in name only?
with Season 10, the Enemy Signal Contact was taken away and was replaced with Deep Space Encounter.
i have yet to have been able to even enter into one of these Deep Space Encounters, and since currently you no longer have Enemy Signal Contacts, it is now almost impossible to grind for new equipment and in-game currency, and i have stopped playing this game because of that.
my question is, will you bring the Enemy Signal Contacts back so that people can have a way of earning gear and in-game currency easier without having to repeat the same episode 7-10 times in a row?

That's Wil Wheaton, not Will....
and his tabletop gaming on youtube is fun stuff.
Think I will avoid any train to hype land, 5 years plus of going to hype land hasn't paid off yet.

Pffft. The Borg? You mean the people that have kilometre long ships that I can destroy with my Nova class?
Joking aside the Borg have never been the bogeymen that they were in TNG when it comes to this game. It would be nice if they got their bogey back.
Here's hoping it will give me a reason to 'play' again!
