I'm all for exploring strange new worlds and discovering new civilizations, but there are several major races in the Star Trek universe that STAR TREK Online needs to develop more.
Specifically, the Cardassians and Dominion were the major aliens races in Deep Space Nine ... and now that we have DS9 alumni joining the cast of voice actor talent we really need more content based around the Cardassians and the Dominion.
I'm not the only player who thinks this ... and if PWE and Cryptic want to make the MOST amount of money from players like me then offer us more content (ships, missions, weapons, BOffs, etc.) from the Cardassians and Dominion.
I realize it's difficult (almost impossible) for the devs to go "all in" with a new playable faction built around the Cardassians and Dominion since you've already given us a large portion of Cardassian and Dominion ships via the lockboxes and Lobi store. However, the majority of people still playing this game are here because of STAR TREK characters, aliens and ships that we fell in love with when we watched the shows and movies.
Again, I'm happy that we're getting new content and I do like the idea of discovering new aliens, but please ... PLEASE don't forget the Cardassians and Dominion.
no please don't I may be the only or just a few that feel the cards and dominion are the most boring faction in game no story/reskin of the tal shiar plus with most of there ships being lockboxes really no room to add more unless it would be like the romulans they get to use fed/kdf ships to a certain point which I know that not what players want so please just stick with redoing what story of them ingame and move on no need to make them a seperate faction or whatever a few players want.
Something to use on our unused ships on? Great. More exploration? Great. More story content? Great. A set plan for beyond 2016? Great. New reputation? Great.
Honestly, I'm really excited by this announcement. Hopefully exploring a new area, plus more DS9 cast, means some Gamma Quadrant love? A man can dream...
And you find that shocking after 5 years? Its mostly based on the bad experience ppl had with alot of things like crafting system, difficulty revamp, sector space revamp to name just a few, wich some are still bugged or even affected other complex systems like the doff one. This new admirality system has pretty much the potentioal to TRIBBLE up even more the doff system, since its based on it, or very similar from the first glence.
What happened to the new seasson leaked on reddit called Feature Searies? Probably was just a missdirection or distraction lol
Anyway, yea sure I am hyped about the new focus on exploration and stuff, but dissapointed that the Admirality is not actually gonna let us command our unused ships par-se, like we do with our boffs on the ground in away teams
Trendy is this me or everyone else thin too That you guys are rushing the project and For me I wlling to wait. Than playing games full of bugs To dev please take your time as much as you need and bring us the epic finally.
If it is a new ship based Doffing system, I am happy with that. I like doffing.
If it is something like the Starfleet Command Games expansion of Space Combat like, how you can bring 2 Boffs into the Dyson Ground Battlezone, I'll be very Happy.
If it is both and I can send some ships off on missions while using others as personal support, I'll be downright joyfilled.

I'm happy though because I get to experience everything as a fan and player again, something I was way before being a rep and something I'll always be.

I think the conclusion of the Iconian War Story Arc is a bit too soon. These omnipotent things just showed themselves and started to tear the galaxy a new one close to a year ago and it is already ending... How convenient. Although I am freaking that we finally going to get what we all wanted. The Admiralty System.

Does this mean that they will finally fix the STO Gateway so that you can use the DOff and Admiralty systems outside of the game like you can with the NW Gateway? That would be nice.

SOOOO EXCITED!!!! PWE, you have NO IDEA how excited I was when I read the info on the Admiralty System; THAT was by far THE MOST EXCITING NEWS I HAVE EVER HEARD FROM YOU GUYS!!!

The only thing that will make me happier is if you tell us that we'll be able to command fleets of our inactive ships for NPC missions. Or PvP even! Can you imagine a five-on-five match with 50 SHIPS SHOOTING AT EACH OTHER!?!?!?!?
Maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part, but has anyone noticed the unexplored sectors that have been shaded in on the galaxy map. Its almost as if they have had "placeholders" put in place for future development. And for those who mentioned further development of the Dominion there is a large section in the Gamma Quadrant that is shaded as though it may soon be used ... just thinking (and hoping) out loud.
1) Happy PWE/Cryptic just did a simple announcement on the official site for Season 11 - and it didn't end up like the (IMO) PR cluster**** that was the Delta Rising STLV announcement where that was announced at last year's STLV; and it was a good 10 day after said announcement that ANYTHING official about DR appeared on the actual STO site.
2) Glad to see Chase Masterson was asked, and agreed to return to voice an actual character in a story; and not just be relegated to a character that is just full of random chatter in STO.
3) I too realize that the 'Admiralty System' WON'T be a full hands on tactical combat experience like in STO story missions; but as others have stated, I hope it's a more hands on real time strategy (perhaps turn based) system; and not just a glorified reskin of the existing Doff Assignment System using your inactive starships in place of slotting Duty Officers. I hate to say this, but it would not surprise me in the least if a glorified Doff system was what the Admiralty system turned out to be - but I'll reserve judgement and hope for the best until more infor on it is released or it appears on Tribble for whatever player testing/feedback Cryptic and PWE allow.

i was expecting something to come from cryptic any day now, and here it is. anyways, i dont care too much about this admirality system until the mechanics are more known. and the details so far revealed nothing. will see what comes over the next few weeks, because considering the other game mentioned, its likely season 11 will be around or before 27th of october.

After reading what was in this link, I have to reaffirm my optimism about New Dawn. Even if the Admiralty System is a Duty Officer type of thing, I'm still optimistic. Thanks to the Devs for announcing such an exciting update.

Excuse me if I miss any sarcasm. Our characters ARE the major focus of the story. After spending time developing them, the STO devs wouldn't make us throw it all away.
All & all so far with just this brief teaser, Season 11 actually sounds pretty awesome. An archaeological discovery of an unknown civilization? A mysterious time traveler? Exploring uncharted territory? Those alone are awesome, we're getting back to the actual roots of Trek here.
I'm quite hopeful that Mirror Leeta might mean an expansion of the Mirror Universe arc. It always felt like it didn't get anywhere near enough game time. The arc definitely has the potential to be an epic stand-alone, hopefully it's finally getting there.
I'll give the Admiralty System a fair shake, as I did with the R & D system. The tab is no Memory Alpha (nothing can replicate that atmosphere in a tab) but it's grown on me as an acceptable crafting area. We'll see how the Admiralty System stacks up, compared to DOFFing and R & Ding.
Sorry, butt is this just duffing with starships then? I really hoped it would be "space-away-team-style" to actually have your other ships commandeered by your bridge officers forming a five-ship-fleet, like an away team on ground with your bridge officers. Remember when the future plans were to "promote one of your bridge officers to captain and assign her or him to a starship in your ship roster". I guess this ain't the case now, right?
I don't wanna muck about it, it's just ... a slight disappointment. Of course I am looking forward to see new additions to the game and I will certainly try the admiralty system, butt it's just not what I hoped it would be.
Including Wesley Crusher and Leeta into the storyline is certainly a nice thing, new and old voices will get more show time. Looking forward to hear Wil Wheaton and Chase Masterson (again).
