I saw a few people on the Klingon Academy a few weeks ago wearing it. Maybe it was a bug. But I really don't see the point of restricting cloths to particular zones. They are no more revealing than the Federation Mirror Uniform (FED TOS) stuff or the Orion (KDF) costumes.

That's not a bug, it's an exploit people have used to "unrestrict" the tailor.

Why they can't just unrestrict the tailor options altogether is beyond me. Customization is the spice of life. Would love to be able to mix parts, like say the Omega armor set with my mercenary set and such, or have klingon or romulan attire even though I'm fed.

The pets look cute, but a bit Pokemonish for my tastes, but I'll probably grab a few (after trying to get other things first, mind you). :)

    They added Umbreons?

Also a miniature singularity wouldn't dissapate. It would rapidly swallow the entire planet. Do you have any idea how much mass is required to create even the tiniest singularity? The gravitational force would be (by definition) impossible to resist (apart from using inertial dampeners or warp drive).

I didn't wanna have to get the science out, but no they wouldn't rapidly swallow the entire planet. Any lump of matter can become a black hole if you crush it beyond it's Schwarzschild radius (the point at which it's escape velocity becomes the speed of light), but it doesn't gain mass, and so gravity, by doing so. You could crush your sandwich beyond it's Schwarzschild radius and it would become a minuscule black hole and dissipate extremely quickly, but would not have any more mass or relative "attractive force" than the sandwich it came from.

We are already creating minuscule singularities in the large particle colliders on modern day Earth, but the smaller a black hole is the faster it evaporates, and these ones only last for a tiny fraction of a fraction of a millisecond. There are also cosmic rays slamming into our atmosphere that are constantly creating incredibly tiny black holes, we're still here. You would need an absolutely enormous amount of mass to create a singularity that sticks around long enough to actually accrete matter and become a threat to a planet.

Now these artificial ones in the kit module are completely impossible in reality, since they would need to be close to or more than an earth-mass to cause the described gravitational force on nearby people, but then they would also do the same to everything.. including you. So we can't really assume they "should" do or not do anything when their founding function is a physical impossibility to begin with.

    /end science

On topic though, dem cute pets!

Totally agree with some others that the poor Klingon lady needs a damn good sandwich, those yucky ribs.. curves are attractive, not bones! Can't wait to see the full desciption of the Nandi though, was pretty disappointed when this blog had nothing on it. :(

    So a couple things.

One: I am totally getting my Vaporeon (I mean Caracal) ASAP once this goes live. Because they're adorable and cuddly and I want one. I mean all.

Two: I didn't make the Magnum PI connection until it was posted in this thread. So thanks all for that. Now I need some bleach to get that out.
    Magnum was awesome!
    It occurs to me...
      The
    Hurricane Generator...
    • Is it a stationary pet radiating an AoE pulse effect?
      • How often does is pulse?
      • Is it shielded?
      • What is its radius?
      • Is there a maximum number of targets?
    • Is it based on the Generators skill as its name would imply, or the Turrets and Drones skill as a damage-dealing pet?
    • Does this clear any AoE fields (put out fires, wash off goo, etc.)?
      • And/or does it dissipate gas-type effects (Anesthezine, Pheromones, Smoke, etc.)?
    • Will it benefit from any doff interactions?
    • What about [Mods] like [PsiDmg]/[PsiDoT]?

    The Seismic Agitation Field...
    • Is this basically an "Earth-type" version of Endo/Exothermic Induction Field?
Will it prevent you from slotting the "
      Fire-type" and "Ice-type" versions?
    • Does it benefit from doffs related to those abilities?
        Or any doffs at all?
[*]Does it affect targets that are not actually on the ground, such as Drones or Swarmers, or Herald Constructs when they are doing their "levitate" animation?
    • Or the Borg Queen and Herald Harbingers when they're floating about!?!
[*]Does this benefit from [Mods] such as [PsiDmg]/[PsiDoT]?

    The Graviton Spike...
    • So, what Skill actually affects this?
      • Is the pull affected by Tactics, and the damage affected by Weapons/Specialist, since it's a modified weapon attack and not a Grenade?
      • Or is this considered a pseudo-Grenade like Polaron Bombardment?
        • Wait, is this a -Repel version of a Photon Grenade?
    • What's the radius on this one?
    • Is this affected by any doff interactions?
    • Might this one benefit from [Mods] such as [PsiDmg]/[PsiDoT]?

Oh, and are these BtC on pickup, or can we just play the Event with the character we want to and transfer them over to the ones that could use the items for actual gameplay? I have to say, BtA and transferable would be vastly preferable, so that I can spend more time enjoying the Event and less time swapping alts just to get these on the "correct" character. Plus it would help sell Account Bank space. Just a thought. ;)
the Seismic thingy sounds like a variant of Ellectro-Gravitic field to me. no idea on the other two they aren't that similar to existing kits.

But... new kits don't have to be variants of old kits. you can use Flash bombs AND Chroniton mines for example.

I will be sorely disappointed if we can't team up for a 4-man hoverboard rush I call the BIFF Maneuver: Blazing Impact: Fast (&) Furious. Ok, that was terrible.

I'll take retro future dress styles as an alternative.

By the sound of it, it's a quick effect that knocks everyone within the radius off their feet towards the epicenter, or maybe is enough to send them flying towards it.

But honestly, the Science EARTHQUAKE power and Engineers calling down lightning and thunder on their enemies sounds more spectacular.

As an aside, my only real "disappointment" is that we can't equip powers like this on our boffs or get the crafting recipes for them. Because there's some demented part of my brain that wants to equip my Away Team with these powers and try and summon Captain Planet (or Captain Galaxy, I guess).
I'm thinking it might be similar to that early scene in the 2012 movie Battleship, where one of the alien devices explodes on the cruiser and the people are sucked towards it, blown out, sucked back in closer, then blown away. Except less dramatic. Far less dramatic.

Hehe, that's why I asked so many questions.

A lot of value rides on their ability to interact with doffs, how they interact with each other, what skills they're based on, etc. All of this is important information that determines just how useful something is, as are various omissions. For example, the Vaadwaur Anchor Drone will not proc or benefit from the new Armory Officer, despite being a Drone and despite already being in existence before that Armory Officer was created, meaning that it might have been one to think of when coding that doff (I filed a Bug Report already ;)).

All sorts of things make or break a Kit Module, doff, etc., and often the new thing may not be worth the slot on your bar given that we're limited to 5 powers max... many of which are restricted further by category. The Photonic Barrier Generator, for example, is nice and all... but a Nanite Medical Generator grants both DRM and hitpoint healing along with the 40% chance to proc a Shield Generator (if you've got a Transporter Officer, of course). Oh, and the Photonic Barrier Generator does nothing to guard your turrets, etc. where a Shield Generator can grant its shield resistance and heal to everything in reach.

Similarly, the Hurricane Generator might sound amazing in theory, but could be unshielded and fragile... and get killed the moment Heralds start shooting at it. Similarly, it might have too small a radius to hit before it gets shot down. It might be easily burned out by Exothermic Induction Field or a Plasma Grenade (in the middle of a "hurricane"), and it might not have any doff or [Mod] interactions at all.

Or, it could be awesome, taking the place of the Plasma Flamethrower Turret or Neutronic Mortar in you Kit. It's all a matter of details. Give us details!

    Beauty is only skin-deep.

if you like, but everytime i play this game specifically the women that at are designed always have much larger ribcages then they should and it makes them look seriously malnourished.

have you seen some of those catwalk models with those deathly stares and you ask again if beauty is skin deep? because i am sure that women who stave themselves to look like rakes kneeling over a toilet bowl forcibly making themselves sick just after eating something, fainting at the sight of too much energy being used on basic things and all in the name to be a model on a catwalk as its their life, they wouldnt have a life of their own so long as its controlled by their insecurity and need, so much for under the skin in some cases, huh.

but if thats your choice, then who am i to stand in the way of that type of bad logic. sure in a small amount, but thats basically what this is pointing towards and i have seen healthy women before that not had any need to have such protruding ribs, which only goes to show where the developers have found their inspiration for in game women. if it was toned down a bit i wouldnt have too much trouble with it.

but yes, this is the only game i have seen where the ribcages protrude so much it looks horrible. as stated im not going to go beyond that complaint and instead i will go for the closed shirt option anyway as a way of finding a way around it, you dont need to reveal it all to look good on risa and i hope the devs seriously adjust that ribcage look a bit as i have been complaining about for years.

Last year when swimwear was introduced there was a bug players found that allowed them to wear it off of Risa. The bug was fixed but Cryptic's policy is to not force player's outfits to change. As long as you don't modify the outfit you can keep it that way. The players in bikinis and speedos you see around the game probably created the outfit last year before the bug was fixed and never modified them, or they have found an exploit that allows them to use costume pieces they aren't suppose to have which has happened on multiple occasions (for example: I've seen a Federation Alien species player on Drozana once in an Orion bikini. Those costume pieces aren't suppose to be worn by anything but Orions.).

Thanks, guess I'll be giving the costumes a miss as well.Non-combat pets are a waste of storage space, costumes and devices that can only be used in one location aren't worth grinding for.

So that leaves well nothing from the event. I guess I'll be missing this one as well. :(

Under the line: don't forget give them chance to get ship by Lobi Crystal.:P

Hmm How nice. You can give it you all last year. But they just don't give you benefits.

Hm. The female shirt looks like she's wearing one that's two sizes too small. It works okay for the open version but the closed one looks silly.

Also, I assume the chest hair is a selectable option? Will it be available for all bare-chested swimwear for males? Will it be available for the TOS Captain's Tunic, which also shows a bit more chest than usual? If I'm going to give any of my male characters an enchanted forest, it better damn well be consistent.

I'll probably try for some of those on a few characters, though I doubt I'll do what I did last year and go for something for every toon. Just three Delta Recruits to get kitted in swimsuits, then some loud shirts for a couple of others and done.

please, please, please offer a choice of risian favours for alts to do the daily floater challenge as this is one of my favourite activities on risa.
or at least let us trade the new tokens via the store without having to wait till next year to do it.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

Sadly, it just means you'll have to stop doing the extra missions. It'd be a good idea though if they made an optional Favor pack for players who want to keep running the floater mission.
