I do have to agree with that. I much prefer the winter event because getting event currency is much easier, thus more fun.
Gaining event currency here is just as easy. Just do the dancing. It rewards the most favors out of all the events, and fortunately, you don't need 6 different items to obtain something.
Assault Kit Module Graviton Spike. Tactical Captains can enhance their weapons fire with charged Graviton particles to create a miniature singularity on impact. Enemies caught within the singularitys radius are pulled toward it, taking kinetic damage...
This sounds an awful lot like the little grenades the Dark Elves used in the second Thor movie. Wicked.
ok, shirts are off duty? Yea, means we can wear them off planet. Net radio shows in game are about to get way more color full *CHEERS*.
The kits I'm sure are made by the Risa branch of the ACME corporation.. (go watch some old Road runner cartoons.. I mean really.. earthquake in a box, hurricane in a box...egad!)
The rest we'll find out about.. Be nice if the favor payout would kinda increase....

The thing is that in the Winter Events, there were doff missions you could run that were quite profitable at providing event currency. Summer doesn't have anything like that.

The dance competition rewards 50 (if it's the same as previous years). But the cheapest clothing sells for 500. At once an hour, that's 10 hours it takes to get enough for one of the cheapest clothing items, for one character. That's not very fast and not very fun either considering the dance contest is just standing there clicking emotes for 10 minutes.
During the winter event, between DOFF missions, snow borg, snowman invasion, queued mission and pie eating. I'd gained enough in the first 10 hours to buy a weapon and several jackets.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!
Ok, new Swimwear, cool, cool. Though I really wish you wouldn't lock us into pre-made colors.
New Off Duty clothes, too? Oh, I do really hope this means it's wearable anywhere any other OD items are worn.
Caracals, eh? Ok, well, those are cute. Any word on the idea of moving pets to the UI so I don't have to carry them around all the time to use them? Are these convertible to Marks like Epohhs, Monkeys, and Birds? Speaking of the latter two, are we still going to be able to get them and turn them in to Marks? Will Iconian Marks be available this way? Getting Marks is one of the main reasons I bother with the Summer/Winter Events.
The kit mods could be fun/interesting, but it depends on the price. Same with the new power boards. Are these Risa only items or useable throughout the game (like frosted boots)?
I look forward to the ship blog.
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.
One question: will it be easier to get hold of the lohnut marks this year? The Winter Event is really generous with them to the point of all my characters getting the costumes, while the Summer one is downright stingy with having to work our butts off to get just one costume.
I assume that chest hair option will be available for my Klingon female, yes?
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Great Scot!!
These boards don't work on water unless you got poweeeeer!
Can we get a pink Mattel one anyway for the land areas?
Will have it all day one!

Stand back! There's a Hurricane coming through!
Caracals are cats. Bunnies are catFOOD. You need to pay attention, hoomin!
I guess I will hire some risean catpeople for my catcrew.

Off duty clothes could be worn elsewhere. Just not the swimsuits.

Everything looks great, including that cat-bunny hybrid creature that looks like some offshoot of an Elachi experiment gone weird. Must have.
The announcement on the new ship color palettes is also good news.
I NEED an umbreon of my very own :P gimme
or is it?
Love the pokemon pet! Will get one!

Pets are cute in a good way.
Costumes are nice. Guess I can buy them with one guy and simply put them in my account bank so my other officers can get them.
Power boards are sweet.
