Additional rewards in the form of tech upgrades and spec points? This is relevant to my interests.
Also, thank you for being willing to delay a build for the sake of quality control instead of forcing us to stomach it for the sake of shinies. This is what I consider doing the right thing.
Hate to see the delay (though very understandable. Don't want 1 week of an unplayable episode!), but knowing one of my Admirals can make decent headway on unlocking Specialization training tokens is nice.
I honestly am happy to see them delay a piece of content if it's not working the way they want rather than just pushing it Live because of an announced date. YMMV but I'll give kudos to the STO EP and team for making that decision.

Holy jibblets batman, a delay on a mission! well I'd rather have a mission be delayed and be playable then a mission full of chaos and gggrrrrs and unfinishable
Sounds good. Having a delay to make things work properly instead of shoving them out the door broken like you have in the past is a very good thing. Looking forward to the episode now!
I'd prefer it to be delayed and work as intended, than release on time and not working as intended. I'm actually just kind of surprised that you guys feel that way too, it's very un-cryptic of you. You feeling ok? :P
I do have one criticism of the new featured episodes which I want to share. Don't take it the wrong way, the missions themselves have been pretty good. But I miss the days where unique rewards were tied to a short series of 4-5 episodes and you released a new episode each week. It was more fun than replaying the same episode for the rewards multiple times over the course of a few weeks.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!

My thoughts exactly. When I read that they were delaying the release of the mission for quality sake I was blown away. This is what should ALWAYS be done. Very impressed with this decision.
I think you have been doing exceptionally well keeping to the schedule as you have, delivering so much under the banner of The Iconian War This is the first instance of a delayed Feature Episode that I can remember since I started playing 2 years ago.
Thank you for your hard work in keeping a steady stream of content. Please don't forget to sleep, and don't drink too much espresso!

agreed. its better so delay someting and tell why it is delayed than put someting buggy in game.

I can actually answer that second one for you, because it came up in an interview some years back. Basically they stopped doing FEs like that because once one mission was out, they had to keep to the deadline come hell or high water. They also had to hit a target for sure on that time to make sure all the missions were done simultaneously. This meant rushing the dev and QA time on all five missions to get them done.
For instance, if this was a five episode series like back then, they could not have delayed House Pegh because of technical issues.
They also mentioned that required simulatenous development time (As in all five missions being worked on simultaneously instead of being able to focus on getting one done and then moving on), which lowered the quality of it.
I miss weekly episodes too, but I'll take monthly episodes if it means they're consistant and well made.
Totally concur with all that agree with the reasons for the delay. Good call Cryptic folk And as for the change to rewards, exceedingly decent of you! An unexpected BUT nice change of tack!
Well, i think most people will actually prefer to wait an extra week or too, to have a patch deployed properly with as few bugs as possible rather then having some bug plagued content deployed, that breaks every thing like some of the last deployed patch.
i think you're giving a step in the right direction.
just out of curiosity ... what kind of bug was it !?

edit: Also, that's kind of trippy...delaying a production date instead of trying to make the best of it and just running with it. Curious...

We don't want you knowing when we're going to attack your compound. Clearly.
This is a course of action I can fully support - thank you.

Thanks for the update on the new mission, and I agree, playing it completed and intended is much preferable to the other way.

TRIBBLE Hydra! Hail Janeway!
EACH week you run it.
So if you run it 1 week you get an upgrade, the next week a spec point. Or vice versa

This is what should of been done ages ago. QA has been... lacking at times, with bad bugs going live and what not.
I really do hope that this is a sign that QA is getting better, and that you're not goning to rush things out the airlock half done.
Better the wait than the usual bugs.
Really surprised by this move, but a very pleansant move at that.
Hope that this is how things will be going foreward...
