These things scream to build toward DPS, maneuverability, and speed tanking. Building for damage mitigation would just be gimping them. I'm not a buildcrafter and even I can see that.
Well I never said hull hp was that important on these ships. I was actually emphasizing that the low hull is a small price to pay for incredibly manoeuvrable and fast 5 front weps and 5 tac console ships.
On the other hand, a large part of players never managed to stay alive in Plesh Breks that have more hull than these pilot ships... (leading to FED dislike of raider type low hull ships and so possibly to the lack of any nice T6 raiders even on KDF side)
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
These ships are, in my opinion, the most fun ships to fly that we've ever made. I have to force myself not to idly perform flight maneuvers while testing other things.

LMAO, at that video! How much you wanna bet there's gonna be something wrong with those ships, even though they give us footage of them actually using them? Also, I didn't see the health on that Iconian ship. It was probably down to less than 100 HP before those rocket things were fired. And why not show off the piloting BOFF abilities too?

Good to know the staff had lots of fun with these; to the point they have to resist just double-tapping for a maneuver for fun.
While I understand it's unlikely we'll get other ships capable of Pilot Maneuvers, can we at least get it as standard on shuttles? They look too fun to be only on 3 ships (per faction), and who knows how long until we see more Specialized ships that can use them (more Pilot ships; not to mention more ships with Command Inspiration and Intel Analysis capabilities).
We need Dual Heavy Gatling Cannons. The kind that spins up slowly but fires continuously until either the target is dead or it overheats (or you overshoot your target and waste the dakka on empty space). Hold Spacebar to sustain dakka. 5-10 seconds to cool after reaching maximum dakka levels.
Nice looking ships. The Klingon ships more so than the rest. I'm also glad that Cryptic decided to not make every single Romulan ship look like a bird. They're not my cup of tea, but at least they're different.
I will never understand the fascination with naming things after Icarus though. It just doesn't make sense. To all you captains who are considering buying the Icarus, there's a hidden stat with this variant:
+ Extreme urge to fly closer to the star of the nearest solar system.
Joking aside, these ships sound quite fun. My hat's off to any full team of 5 pilot ships that can pull off a successful Kolvoord starburst.
Yep, more T6 ships I won't buy. I'll wait for the Risa summer event to grind out a T6 Pilot ship.
Maybe if I wasn't so paranoid about whatever purchase I make being rendered obsolete in 6 months to a year, I'd be more willing to throw Cryptic a few bucks.
But hey, apparently there are enough players out there with poor impulse control (pun intended) who just can't resist getting the new shiny. So, thanks for supporting the game so I don't have to.
If that's your reasoning, you should have stopped after this:
Macross Missile Massacre! And almost an Itano Circus as well! Now a Priority 1 purchase as soon as it hits the stores.
Now if only you would buff the Ferengi Missile Launcher to make it worth the Lobi (preferably [Pen]x2 or [ShPen]x2 instead of [Acc]x2) and let the Tal Shiar Shrapnel Missile Console be usable on any ship.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
So, one of the servitor races must be Zentradi if those attack maneuvers are based on info and tech captured from the Iconian battles :D;)

After the "ABOMINATIONS" the intel thingies and the command thingies are... (Aesthetically only of course... that is not to say these are not OP or convincing or performing bad in any way; they are only HIDEOUSLY UGLY and un-klinky un-feddie and un-rommy like) ...I am most pleased to see a return to a real canon-based design.
The feddies look just too badazz not to try'em. At last feddies are fed up with the "PACIFIST DO-GOODER" tag and are embracing the war design philosophy that screams: "Here comes DADDY"... though a little chunky.
The klinkies are streamlined... though not entirely sure they are the bread and butter klinky ship design; a little too skinny to be taken seriously. Maybe a spearhead type of ship for suicide-volunteering type of captains?
The rommies... oh my, they look like a half-aborted TRIBBLE child between a Breen Chel'Grett and a T'varo. Sorry but the rommies are very un-rommy like and ugly. They lseem like badly patched spare parts... workshop style and not certainly the soft elegant lines we are supposed to have in the rommy side.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!
oh wow, that does look it would be fun.
It would be really cool to have a t6 Nova that could do that, hint, hint
That said, the video is sub standard and not fit for purpose if you're really wanting to make a good impression.
Dammit, I just convinced myself to wait....
Please enable us to buy a token with Zen to faction change a 25th Century FED to a TOS FED.
That's better than the official video on the blog.
Well done!

Hope folks that like that kind of flying enjoy them, cause they are pretty damn pretty ships, imho.

Because, in case you failed to notice, the game has been working exactly the way you are talking about since that fateful day 4 years ago.
I can see that. They also bear a striking resemblance to B5 Wars smaller Centauri vessels, like the Darknar.
That gif was suppose to be longer looks like imgur cut the last half off of it. Here are 3 smaller gifs with all the actions.

Very Robotech-ish. Loving it!

No need to be a dakka blokka :P
Whoooohoooooooooooooooooooooooo Jesus!!!! :eek::eek:
Who created that Projectile console?
Yes, please. What this nice man said.
What was the power in segment 3, with the missile type barrage?!?
that's the micro torpedo console

I'm tempted to buy the feddie pack...
