Just remember what happend to those Klingon's who stood against the Iconian on Qonos. They were all killed in a flash. If you want to defeat the Iconians then you have to push the designs of your technology to the limits to have any chance of fighting them!

There is nothing Star Trek in these designs at all. I'm all for a loose interpretation being non-canon but they've jumped the shark and made the design non-Trek completely.

I'm not sure what this game is even trying to be at this point.

Don't mind valoreah. He/She is......"special". Always white-knighting anything Cryptic does, with a touch of SJW added in.

I'm surprised that CBS keeps rubber-stamping their approval for these awful things. Do they even bother to look at the proposed designs before they green it?

i mean since this new outfit doesn't have any star trek feel to it at all (imo) can we just get the Gallian Militia outfits from Valkyria Chronicles? Oh and some of the female hairstyles too?

Does this mean you're going to try and approximate Alicia, or Selvaria, or Varrot (to name a trio of examples)? Do let me know if you do; I've already run across Imca.

If you're going to ask for that, might as well go for the complete package, seeing as Sega seems to have failed at doing stuff with the IP despite all the potential. In 'motion', it looks like a third-person shooter... they could've rolled with that and given us something akin to Battlefield Heroes - all the classes, unlocks, etc. are already there. Or maybe take a higher view and spawn something akin to EndWar (the original, not the unnatural MOBA 'remake'). But nooo...

What's curious to me is the Herold armor actually looks pretty cool. So why didn't they give us their armor (voth, undine, hirogen)?

You're not wrong, but one of those carries more emphasis than the other. Sometimes you have to shout to be heard.
Self-inflicted reducto-ad-absurdium tends to negate whatever point you were trying to make by causing the potential audience to ignore you.

This. The breast circles would turn me off from ever wanting to enable visuals for that armor on any male character.

But if we could turn off the neon glow and make the lines less visible I could probably deal with it. Hopefully it will be like some of the other armor pieces and allow you to customize and use only the bits you want.
Actually... with some things you CAN. Hmm.... it are tribble testing timez. :D

I'm surprised there wasn't a copyright infringement on that Starlord outfit. It was pretty blatant.

On-topic: No thanks on the design. I don't want to throw the designer under the bus, but this is the opposite of "good". Also, who approved this?

Uh, gasmask mooks have been around for a very long time mate, and that outfit was suppose to invoke the familiarity of the Schutzstaffel, I mean, just look at their uniforms:

    https://fellowshipofminds.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/uniforms-ss-ill2.jpg

That's from seventy years ago, pretty sure the patent ran out.

There is also the Helghast now that I think about it:

    http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af77/Jordep94/Decorated%20images/Helghast_Shock_Trooper.jpg

So actually, they didn't rip off Starlord, Starlord ripped off the Helghast, or the TRIBBLE Secret Police.

Speaking of the Heralds... I finally said enough! and stayed to fight off the Herald... got it down and it disappeared.... moved to the console room and it reappeared, fought it off again.... it disappeared again.

I waited.... and waited.... moved from room to room but he never reappeared. I was hoping for an accolade for defeating him... booo!

Well, after going through and reading every page on here with pretty much everyone (sans a few individuals) outright rejecting the armor, I'm going to remain passive and wait.

Why? Simple, WE DONT HAVE THE ARMOR YET.

Until I've actually got this thing unlocked and have had to tinker with it in the Tailor options, I'm not going to say anything bad about it or good about it. Think people, we've only seen THREE takes on this new outfit, THREE.

I want to see the full color pallet, I want to see the full range of options, I want to know what they are giving us to work with here. I spent days tinkering with and working on the Intelligence outfit before I was happy with it because the initial base outfit I didn't care for at all, but thinkering with it I was able to come up with something that half of my characters no wear.

So please guys, just chill, we've got quite a few weeks before this comes out, then at minimum 32 days before anyone has it. So just wait for awhile and see what this really is before condemning it OR defending it.

yeah same here. And I did it with my trusty regular looking none Tron gear too. I honestly had a harder time with the Dividians then that guy.

Same here, only I took the fight to him the first time I ran the mission. Took a solid ten minutes, but poof, nothing. Was really expecting an Accolage for that one.

    Oh man.

Sorry to whomever made this..... armour but I don't like it at all.

It just looks shoddy. Like someone got an 80's style shell suit, made it skintight then drew naughty graffiti on it.

As others have said adding chest and pelvic armour pieces along with allowing much duller colours might make this armour salvagable.

I must acquire these so I can fight for the user!

Kudos on the relatively gender-neutral design though. You don't normally see that on skintight outfits.

Well, if you're really that much better at designing stuff than the current art team, by all means send an application to Cryptic.

I look forward to seeing what designs you come up with and how you handle the "colorful" reactions of dislike from the forums.

For your information, I am a 3D model designer along with other things. As a 3D modeler I sure as heck know the unlimited amazing things with visualization that can be done for this game for the new items that are added. This fact that I know about 3D models and have ideas for it and at least standard common sense that can be added to it make me even more furious. I can very well easily create far more impressive 3D models for this game then anyone in the Development area of it, designs for Star Trek is common sense > STAR TREK. Not Tron, or Warhammer, or Firefall, or Call Of Duty or Halo!

Why did the Samsar get such positive likes?.. Because it actually made sense!
    1. It is a ship of Kobali.
    2. Not many ships of Kobali is known.
    3. It is an original design.
    4. It actually makes you want to get it.
    5. It looks totally different from everything else in the game.
    6. The ship can be of original design because Kobali is a race that is really not all that brought out so much.

I can sit here and tell you all the flaws the new T6 ships which include the new FED ships and KDF ships, at least the ROMs got nice ships, it goes with what they are "Warbirds" - the ship look like what?.. Birds. Now we got the FEDs, the same old HUGE round saucer and long sperm-like hull doesn't always make the ship Federation. And the KDF just look like lego blocks snapped together. You don't have to be a 3D modeler/designer, just from looking at it alone you can tell > This was placed on here rushed and to get this over with.

So back to the main point - the point is not how creative you are, the point is actually GETTING the job. And judging by all these ships and outfits that look just horrid and on top of that scream "This will do" - it is obvious they aren't looking for talent, they are looking for people that just stick together TRIBBLE from things already in the game instead of making fully original content.

People are mad for a reason, people are calling them out for a reason.
It doesn't matter how they do it, the point is that it is being done - and each new thing done to the game is just worse and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it other then EXPLODE like many have done already... Thus, typing the offensive way they do.

So take your "adult" acting ways somewhere else, because some people and things just don't deserve it.
    Cross, strikeout, period, final.

Actually I was going to do an engineer and name her Freesia York but...we don't have her high back ponytail with long bangs hairstyle ingame, wich is a perfectly normal hairstyle tbh, coulda had my tac be Rosie but we don't have that hairstyle either. For that matter we don't have lances for blowing up tanks...

first game was super fun though.

Back on topic, please Cryptic don't do this one, Joel Schumacher will file a complaint that you tried to copy his batsuit...

Honest feedback is honest, and no amount of hate cant truly express the disgust for this design. Take the criticism as is and do better next time. Sometimes you have to roll a hard six.

When I saw the new post this morning, I was like "Whatttttt~"...

I thought we were fighting Iconians, not going to a techno party with Daft Punk.

Hey Now!!! Some of use would LOVE to go into battle with Daft Punk AND have a techno party to boot. Ok... Those of us who use Risian ships, AND wish they would open up playable characters of either Risians or whatever that DJ is at Earth Space Dock. Still, WE DO NOT AGREE!!!

Comes across as, "Hey, it's ok, no big deal."

But if it's ok, if it's no big deal, they see no need to change.

If the overall response was really that muted, I would expect to see more of this type of design in the future.

I'm glad enough people have expressed a higher degree of disgust. We're constantly reminded of how few resources the devs have available to them. If they have so few resources, they have a very low margin for error; every misstep is that much more problematic.

How many new costumes are typically released in a year? Two? Three? I'm not a tailor-phile, so this particular issue doesn't bother me. But it does bother me to know talented developers were recently released, so that something like this could be developed instead.

    And you're missing mine.

Decency and respect reinforces whatever their design was, good or bad.

They can happily ignore your disapproval if you're providing it with decency and respect.

Sure, hostility and vitriol runs the risk of some sort of dev reprisal, but that makes them look even worse than the players who provoked them. The players can hold out longer than the studio can, and eventually they'll be forced to make positive changes, likely changes they've been holding off on for "reasons."

EDIT: You present a starkly black and white example. I wouldn't necessarily defend the first case, but I feel the second case fails to convey the level of disgruntlement. There are acceptable responses which fall somewhere in between.
