And another thing that I do find more galling: see on the screenshot the alien in the middle with the white hair? That's impossible for us players to create. That's an Alien character using the Talaxian mohawk, and players can't make that combination, and that really grinds my gears.

I am getting kind of tired of the devs flaunting combinations of costume and character pieces we can't replicate on NPCs. Club 47 is one of the most egregious examples of this as nearly every character in there is using costumes or character designs that are impossible for players to create.

It's usually because of clipping issues that they don't release certain outfits/hairstyles more generally. Annoying that they don't want to invest time in fixing it, yes, but they do have more important things to get on with.

If these were available on holodeck right now that would be a problem. Being for season 10 however, its jumping the gun to start complaining about currently-unavailable-hair-options-that-might-still-be-unavailable-in-S10-assuming-of-course-that-the-slicked-back-talaxian-hair-doesn't-get-the-same-treatment-as-"braided"-did-recently.

Actually, that's not even a reason. Clipping issues occur on even normally released outfits, and the fact that pieces can be mixed & matched just fine has been proved as well - both because the devs use it; as well as some people found a way to 'unrestrict' tailor for themselves through some obscure glitch, and simply mix their outfits... These restrictions we deal with, are one of my biggest pet peeves in this game - because yes, art & freehand customization in this game is important for me... and I'm sure not just for me.

And this armor, is just horrid. I've yet to see people to agree on a thing in STO in such unanimous way, like the design of this armor being hideous. where all of us basicly agree, that this thing should not be an ultimate-armor set for Reputation, which costs a lot of effort/time and dilithium to get... As a derpy, club outfit? Sure. But the way it is... I'm sorry, but no, thank you.

I've taken another look at these armours and i have to ask: Is it the alliance its intention to let the iconians end their heralds roll over from laughing?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Exactly. It's incredibly frustrating and I wish they'd knock it off.

I'll get the set, because I'm a completionist and like to horde rep gear like that, but I've got no intention of using the actual costume. If it wasn't restricted to only working with itself, I might use the visor. That's pretty neat looking, but I'd need to be able to use it with other costume pieces that aren't this armor set.

lol, Tron armor. A few months ago it was Starlord gear. A year before that when we got the Odyssey it was the Mass Effect bridge. Well if you can't be original, at least make it stylish!

I wish we could get back to something more like the Omega Force Armor. Compare OF armor to this Disco atrocity and see how bad things have gotten over the past 5 years.

I also find myself pining for the days when armor looked like armor.

I don't know, we had Tron ships it was only a matter of time before they made Tron armor...

The problem with taste is it's so subjective, and I guess they're shooting for the (hopefully small) segment of players who find gawdy, brightly colored neon to be a good thing.

I'd be happy with jeans and a tank top lol... if I'm going after the most powerful enemies in the known universe I want to at least be comfy ;)

My goodness they are horrible looking armor set, the words Star Trek is officially dead and non-existent - its now Space Avenger ala Starlord and Legacy of Tron. :P

Whatever happened to real stylish ones like honor guard, maco, and even undine, or the fleet Dyson uniforms...

Can't help but point out that last room from 'Uneasy Allies' feature episode does look like some dance club, and the thought crossed my mind to suggest that as a party spot. So these seem in a strange way suitable for that room.

Otherwise, will reserve judgment until we see more of how these are supposed to fit with taking on Iconians and what color options or textures they come with, despite everything about that picture saying "no, thanks."

If the intel shades for Klingons weren't enough, these are just over the top, not that it matches Romulans or Feds or Star Trek in any way.

The designs give me the lulz. The male outfit with the "circle the TRIBBLE" design. The shiny garish colors. It's like a train-wreck of "Tron meets Starlight Express meets Gatchman meets every New York club party." So much /facepalm here. What's the strategy? To make the Iconians go "WTF?" and fall over laughing?

I guess the Transvestites RP crowd would be so HAPPY!

I'm surprised there wasn't a copyright infringement on that Starlord outfit. It was pretty blatant.

On-topic: No thanks on the design. I don't want to throw the designer under the bus, but this is the opposite of "good". Also, who approved this?

I don't usually show off my armor. To me most armor looks about the same. Only one I like is the one from the Borg Rep. The KDF looks warrior like, and Fed looks like a super suit.

I think this armour has potential and might be worth grinding for IF they unlock the armour slots to be universal instead of individual. As in, I have Omega, Maco, and this armour I might use the Visor from it on one of the others. Or put the hard armour pieces over the base body suit there. Then it might be interesting. Consider an effect of black base material with neon glowing lines showing on the exposed areas under hard armour. It could be intimidating.

That said. If this is a stand alone and that is the finished product. . I think I will opt out on getting it, thanks.

I like it. Sure, it doesn't look like armor, but it is interesting visuals. I think that my Delta recruit's going to put all of her boffs in it. And I'm getting a Gorn for my Diplomacy boff.

Perhaps "this design doesn't appeal to me" would be a better choice of words?

Seriously folks, it's one thing to say you don't like them. It's another to be rude and offensive about it. Remember, whether you like the design or not, someone did put a lot of work into them. Think about how you would feel were you the designer and reading through this thread.

It's posts like the above that are keeping the Devs from posting here.

The problem here is that some things just look ugly, period.
I mean you can create something then stop and look at what you are doing and see how to improve it, but you don't see any of that with these people. Judging by everything they have brought out "new" so far, its like either a re-vamp or something just put together quickly without second thoughts on making it nicer/better.

This isn't freaking Tron man, why do I have to wear a Tron outfit?!
If I want to look like I'm playing Tron, I will play TRON!
    Makes no damn sense.

So it's like this, we can not bring out ships with designs that are not the SAME TRADITIONAL (S***) as what is traditionally in the Star Trek series with the big TRIBBLE saucers and all... But we can run around looking like Tron, with the Tron headset and everything, right?
    You make no damn sense.

The designer needs to read all this we post so he/she/it would stop being iggnet!

Yes but she has the Power Of The 80s on her side. Meanwhile our hair technology is completely insufficient to do it justice. For justice!!!
