*edit* News has released information, confirmed that he has passed away.

Leonard Nimoy, who played Mr. Spock on “Star Trek,” has died.

He was 83.

The actor died Friday morning at his Bel Air home, his wife, Susan Bay Nimoy, confirmed to the New York Times. The cause of death was end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

    I saw a story on Fri/Sat sometime that he'd been hospitalized and I remember thinking that this was probably it for Leonard. Sad to see him go.

    I don't generally think much when someone famous dies as I didn't know them. But Leonard did what so few have done. He changed the world for the better through his character and became more than just an actor. I am truly saddened this day.
