I am really glad to see that Leonard Nimoy and Spock will be memorialized in-game.

On the morning of Leonard Nimoy's passing a deeply felt anguish passed over the players of STO for the loss of an icon who made Star Trek a part of their lives. As a result a spontaneous pilgrimage occurred to the planet Vulcan for a gathering of silent respect for the late Vulcan Ambassador. It was noted that over 1,000 players could be found at the fountain forming a circle around it at any one time for the entire day.
Due to the planet Vulcan being in Federation space, the planet Vulcan is off limits to the Klingon Defense Force. Such did not deter the Klingons. In a tradition of Klingon honor, the Captains of the Klingon ships formed up in an honor guard around Vulcan. While they could not beam down to Vulcan to pay their respects, they did so regardless with the ring they formed around Vulcan in all instances.
While there are surely those who would not understand how so many people can find so much loss in one man's passing, it is with great sadness, and yet with great pride, honor, and privilege, that I am allowed to post this here today. The character of Ambassador Spock who Leonard Nimoy not only played so well, but also created much of his personification, represented to more than one generation that the future holds promise, that there is more than just ourselves to live up to, and that out there, the final frontier, lays waiting to be discovered if we maintain with a boldness to go where no one has gone before.
very nice effort in creating a memorial for Mr. Nimoy. However, I'm missing Michael Piller 1948-2005 in the list of deceased Star Trek alumni on the plague at ESD/Qo'noS.
I would like to thank pwe arc ,cryptic. and the developers as well as all those hidden behind the scenes for what you have done to honor those who will always be our friends.
a special thank you to the family of Mr. Nimoy for giving us the chance to know this man, see his work change our world for the better .
we are all lucky to have been able to watch Leonard as we grew up and grew old , his Art, His memory, his work and his love for everyone who his words influenced to look above to the stars where he now has his place , forever free to go boldly where none have gone before.
thank you for the memories , the laughs, the tears you have brought to me and for the promise of a better future for our world as we reach out into the unknown and beyond.
and finally thank you for those perfect moments, they will remain always in our hearts , as spock you taught me what it was to be human,as leonard nimoy you taught me how to view the world with a new perspective, you will live on with us until we join you on your journey.
The body dies , but the mind remains and we will never forget you.
I am terribly sorry to ask but I haven't found any info on the net.
I'm a noob to STO, created my account yesterday and completed a couple of first missions. Today I wanted to visit Vulcan for the memorial. But I cannot get there. I just hang in the space near Vulcan System. Can somebody please instruct me on beaming down to Vulcan? Maybe my lvl is too little? Or something?

Have you complete the tutorial missions? Up until the one with the SS Azura? Before that I don't think will have access to anything not related tot he tutorial.
The memorial plaque is nicely done; simple and very tasteful. Kudos to the design team.
The memorial on Vulcan is also nice, with the inclusion of the IDIC symbol. (I just wish there was a bigger buffer around it to prevent the kiddies from launching party items over it.)
Thank you, we are glad you like the memorials. #LLAP
I'm sure you've been asked this already but i'm too lazy to check back in the thread,:D how many of you worked on this memorial? And thanks for burning the midnight oil to get this done.

Thanks to Cryptic for doing this.
They did do a great job on it. As far as the barrier goes, are the disco balls making it over the top of the memorial? If so, maybe they should angle the top of the barrier out and over to stop those shenanigans.

Agreed some invisible walls would do the trick nicely like the ones on the singularity core of the rommie ships

Ya did good team, ya did real good.
The memorials are honestly perfect. And the memorial stones can be easily updated with text, an elegant solution.
But come on, who was the genius that came up with the New Romulus version? I didn't see that coming and it was such a cool surprise. The IDIC was strong in this project.
