all 3 pack ships are already fleet level like the vesta, odyssey, dyson destroyers, bortasqu, and scimitar.
Come to think of it, this doesn't bode well, really. Maybe I'm being too cynical here, but I now see the plan: sell T6+ Command ships, with extra Console, so ppl will be inspired to buy the new ships; then wait 6 months (or otherwise ppl would immediately be able to bring their Intel ships on par with the Command ships), and only then release Intel Fleet ships.
No, I would prefer they were base T6 to keep them equivalent to the other ships in the game.
So now you have T5U ships that have 11 Consoles.
Lobi and Lockbox Ships at T6 have 11 consoles.
And now Command Ships have 11 Consoles.
So basically when I paid $30 for my Guardian, I paid for one of the only ships left in the game with only 10 consoles.
This is completely unacceptable. I don't get how people aren't outraged over this. They're invalidating ships they just sold us 3-4 months ago.
I can only tell you for myself why I'm not outraged by this - because this is nothing new to me or to Cryptic for that matter. Before T6 existed, I bought a Guramba for 2.5 k Zen and it had 9 consoles. I also Bought a Bortasqu' which had the same price at 2.5 k Zen, however this one had 10 console slots. It has been a long time practice that bundled ships are fleet level, while at the same time some other single ships share the same price, but with a console and some stats less.
I won't argue with you that their pricng system is all over the place, but it has been like that since forever, so I'm not outraged nor suprised. I'm actually pleasantly suprised that these are 3k Zen and not 3.5k Zen each. We had a discussion about the potential prices of these in a thread with some players a couple of days ago and the general consent was that most people expected these to be 3.5k Zen each.
What percentage of that 26.3 percent is just players making KFD alts to farm contra? How many are just alts that get minimal play time compared to Fed mains? While we cannot get a hard number or percentage here, I think you'll find that regular, active KFD players fall far below the 26.3% stated in your post.
Pandering to the majority means more money. The majority will buy what they're offered. Why spend man-hours, energy, badly needed staff, to fill out a faction that has been deemed unprofitable for YEARS now? This is not a new phenomenon; Cryptic has been stating that KDF is not making money for a LONG time, way before LoR.
Rom was also never meant to be a standlone faction, because having 1 unprofitable faction is still better than 2.
count the # of scimitars. Don't even count the new ones, the faeht & such, just scims.
Tell me all about how rom players don't spend money again.
count the # of maha & intel kdf ships you see.
tell me all bout kdf players not buying.
Its absurd. Just flapping around in space at random you will see tons of these ships. If they made some, people would buy them. How many you gotta sell to make a profit? Not many. Give me a graphic artist / 3d guy for a week and I could have a full set of ships for both factions done. Just take the stats off the fed ships, change the hull/sheild/turn/etc a little bit for flavor, morph existing shapes a bit and sell them. If only 25 or so of each one sold***, it should be profitable... 30 bucks a ship, 8 new ships, 25 of each... $6k in hand, more than covers 1 weeks pay for the 2 people. And 25 is a very small #.
***sold: for real money, not paid for by alternative methods.
the thing is, in the past, how far where you from getting into pvp or some content worth having a competitive ship for?
ignoring the atrocious balance issues.
and given i can buy entire new games for 30 bucks, i find it cynical that the prices put on these ships is anything over 20. especially looking at the kdf line-up and the an'quat.
Oh, I completely agree that the prices are becomming over the top. I just said in another thread that 3k Zen is the upmost limit for me in terms of a ship and even then it has to be something that I've would have made myself.
I was merely saying here that considering how pricing worked for T5 9 and 10 console ships, I'm not suprised or outraged by the same move for T6 10 and 11 console ships. Not that I agree with the prices which are getting a bit out of hand IMHO.
I'd consider buying them if the Nacells weren't so, well, Fugly.
Cryptic Artist. We love what your doing, now boys don't get me wrong,
but there's just something missing in your art.
Sleek lines. Lose the Bulges and double vents.

Tl;dr: us early DR adopters just got the shaft.
You expect something else from Cryptic ? Really ? They did that with the T5 ships, then with LoR ship (buy the pack ! Oh, now, we are going to release OPscimitard !).
Cryptic makes money with the powercreep. Expect to see better and better ship, until your first T6 are like the old T5. Useless.
Then, they'll release T7, to make them even more useless.

Funny as it may sound, yeah, I keep falling for it. I keep thinking "They wouldn't do that to us!" And then, of course, they do.
I will buy a klingon ship if it looks awesome enough... these new ones are just not awesome
CRYPIC: Are you reading these posts?. A valued customer is providing specific information on how they make purchase decisions. If you answer their need, it can mean Zen in the bank for YOU.
I have seen the seasoned FASA models (when they were new) and I still love them, now. There is a dedicated KDF team out there. Some of the fan-art I have seen in the last week knocks my sox off. If you make great stuff, they will come and get it.
Sooooo...yeah. Was there a reason you felt this decision warranted making a forum post? Other than you thinking you are making some kind of statement or draw attention to your sig that is.
So you are basically in agreement with the OP's premise yes? Why then do you feel the need to create a negative follow up? Were you maybe trying to draw attention to yourself? Trying to make yourself look good by attempting to make another look bad? Considering you are replying to the OP's statement, that statement must be more than a thought, and as it is very clear and to the point, it can hardly be described as.. some kind of statement. As for the OP's reason behind the post.. the desire to say something is all thats ever needed. You didnt have to read it or reply to it, but you did.
I still enjoyed it, as do all my friends, fleetmates and fellow CoX channel members. We'd all still be playing the game today were it still around. There are daily discussions on how we miss it. CoX obviously did something right.
The only positives I've ever seen written:
1. Superhero genre. It was the only game in town.
2. The player community.
Neither of which say anything good about Cryptic.
I have never, once, ever, seen anything positive written by anyone about how well the factions were handled. Ever. The only things I've seen are basically "Well at least it's not as bad as COH" or "They were careful not to pull a City of Villains with this."
I actually saw something like that when DCUO came out. How one side wasn't gimped compared to the other: "Anyone remember how bad City of Villains was handled? DCUO apparently does."
lol Sorry, but with the exception of the Phoneix all of those look like junk. Especially that Enterprise-J garbage scow, I still wish I had a time machine so I could erase that hideous monstrosity out of existence. Must have been some helluva strong stuff they took when they designed that one.
I'm not crazy about the Enterprise J either.
In fact, the only one in that list that I fancy is the Vengeance.
In fact, the only one in that list that I fancy is the Vengeance.
I have been adamantly against the Vengeance in STO in the past, mostly out of principle and not because it's from the Abrams movies. Because in my opinion and in the prime timeline/universe, Starfleet doesn't make black ships nor do they incorporate villain organizations like Section 31 or their ship design (which is non existant in our - STO's universe) in Starfleet.
However, seeing the intel ships from current perspective, hell, I'd take the Venegance before that Scryer abomination or that bucket of glued polygons called Eclipse. The Phantom is passable, especially with the right hull materials and looks like advanced modern Defiant, both those two......ugh *shivers*
But yeah, Enterprise-J.....not sure what happened there, but it definitely wasn't good. Looks like a Sovereign collided with a Galaxy and then a Sheshar fell on top of them.
Won't be on either won't spend a dime on this game until they make the proper restitution to the playerbase and stop nerfing everything. If I wanted to grind and pay to progress I'd be playing Archeage right now.
And I'll be playing it from the bridge of my non-T6U, is the point.
Just saying. Cryptic wouldn't be continually TRIBBLE over people who invested time and money into the ships they love if people would stop giving them money to encourage them to do exactly that.
People who bought the T6 Intel ships knew what they were getting into. Displace and render obsolete T5 and Fleet T5 ships for the new shiny ship. Despite knowing players have invested a great deal of effort into acquiring and modifying them.
But then they get screwed over by the new Command ships. Then a few months down the line, the Command ships will be rendered obsolete by the new shiny ship pack after that.
And we will continue to have this conversation over and over again as people come to the same conclusions, but not enough to send Cryptic a clear message. Money speaks louder than forums.

Actually, initially I eventually was sold on Cryptic's pitch that nothing would be obsoleted. Yes, I'm that naive. Of course, Intel really did. And, btw, I *am* one of those people who had a great many lockbox ships (and various iconic Fed ships).
I figured a semi-obsoletion every few years or so, in the name of progress, was to be deemed reasonable. So I finally bought into the whole Intel spiel. Little did I know, of course, that history would repeat itself, not 5 years later, but only a few months. That's where I draw the line.
i'd buy them if i could stay connected to server long enough to equip them before dc'ing.
then once in said ship i'd like to be able to do any ship pve queue without flying backwards or getting dc'ed again.

As of today I'm closing my wallet again too. Command ships, also C-Store, screwed over all other T6 C-Store ship owners.
