But you know what? I guess it doesn't matter now does it? By being allowed to visit their studios Cryptic has pretty much signed off on you and your fleet haven't they? They've said in deed what most of us have suspected for years. They're not going to stop you. They're not going to correct you. You won. After long last, you really, really won. STO is yours and no one is going to do a thing about it. Congratulations.

If you were banned... how are you still posting? Or was it just a temp ban and you just never switched your avatar?
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

I don't think real bans show up like that, as far as I know. That appears to be a fleetwide custom avatar.

You could have quoted and you would have been using more than ten characters.
Given what this thread has done so far, actively deriding certain fleets and blaming them for the troubles of someone getting their jollies around this fleet invite bug, I am quite certain you are wrong, despite reports made.
EDIT: Oh! Can't forget about the posted images with @name and all of the supposed perpetrator. Naming and shaming in full swing.
____GREAT LEADERS LET THEIR ACTIONS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Which only proved the innocence of those being impersonated. Even when said images were intended to prove guilt.
Oh and if you had actually read and comprehended the thread you'd know the Mods are aware of all this and are monitoring this thread, so they know the difference between actual naming and shaming and providing proof of innocence.
A rose by any other name.
But again, this is carte blanche and sets precedent.
Additionally, further naming and shaming earlier also is acceptable. I think I can draw my conclusions just fine.
____GREAT LEADERS LET THEIR ACTIONS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
no, naming and shaming is not acceptable. The mods seem to be allowing it only for this joecool guy because they're trying to track him and get rid of his alts.
Other than that, no it's not acceptable and when this issues is resolved, I doubt we can even name this troll again.
Yeah, be careful with the naming and shaming. I would recommend going back and editing older posts if you did happen to mention a name. Also, while some players and fleets are getting a kick out of the issue, let us just focus on making sure we can have this trolling problem resolved.
Trying to make people take your side on this is a no win. Ignore their posts and move on.
Just report to the GMs and make sure the devs are aware of any other exploits the perp may be using. Blue has already stated he wants to try and leave this thread open so others can post their experiences.
If you respond to certain individuals who may be looking to derail the thread, you are doing exactly what they want you to do.
No, I am not who you think I am. I am someone different. I am instead a banana.
Please keep your posts on-topic. Naming and shaming are still not allowed on the forums and you cannot accuse entire fleets for the actions of individuals, no matter what the provocation.
Smirk, customer service, and the Dev team are all aware of what's going on with this particular bad guy and are trying to take steps to stop it. Contrary to popular opinion, it's not as simple as pressing a button and making someone disappear from the game permanently.
I have removed several off-topic posts and sent warnings to certain people to cease and desist. People who continue to ignore the rules will be recommended for infractions and receive temporary or permanent forum bans as appropriate.
Again, I am trying to keep this thread open for communicating what's going on. If you don't have anything to say relevant to that, please don't post. DO NOT respond to provocation. Open a ticket or send me a PM and I will handle it.

There does not seem to be a 'pm' button on her profile.
I have some information regarding a certain [REDACTED] attempting (in his own name) to discredit her across a variety of maps (winter wonderland, ESD).
I also believe this person is behind the fake St. Oliva fleet invite spams as two highly unlikely co-incidences linking them occurred during an STF.

If you have information, submit it directly to STO in a ticket under Game -> Reporting a player, and link the report number here for devs to quickly reference. If you witness any suspicious activity, I highly recommend taking screenshot or preferably video and including them with the report; if able to.

We have noticed. That was brought up somewhere in the middle of this thread.
Although if it's new, please share with the audience, popcorn has been replenished.
Spammer, with multiple id's willfully disrupting other players games and making bad remarks to players. One person, lots of complaints... nothing done by cryptic.

Its definitely a different occurrence that I experienced directly myself. I know naming and shaming is not allowed so I will not go down that route.
Suffice to say this person accidentally got their conversation avatars/accounts mixed up and after attempting to troll an Undine STF and unwittingly revealed who they were during a public discussion where they attempted to discredit St Oliva in winter wonderland.

THANKS for the UPDATE. There are literally "Dozens" of people who are getting to the point of walking away from STO because of the referenced person.
Regarding "Banning an entire fleet":
The fleet in reference is this person's "PRIVATE FLEET". I have not been able to find any toons in that fleet that do not belong to the referenced individual. The fleet is also not advanced.
If there is any information that Customer Service needs to resolve this issue let us know. We will do all that is needed to help Cryptic resolve this problem.

I am around. You can contact me through the PM system here or when the servers are back up. If you had a run in with the troll, definitely include that information in any ticket you file(d).

He may be implying that Cryptic/PWE doesn't give the GM's the authority to ban accounts without supervisor approval. Just like how the mods here can only recommend suspensions and bans.
But in other games I have personally seen GM's forcibly disconnect people that were reported. Occasionally the ban/suspensions were confirmed when an idiot threw a ragefit over getting banned on the other games forum.
The [REDACTED] and his 'fleet' (which pretty much all seem to be the same thing/person) have caused nothing but upset and negativity in the game (despite the surreal attempt a few months ago to 'turn themselves around').
I can understand that the dev team does not want to take unilateral action based upon hearsay in the forums alone, but by the sounds of it many people have also filed GM reports about the individual involved, yet they do not seem to have been inhibited.
I am glad to see Bluegeek acknowledging the problem, and hopefully something will be done about this person soon.

Banned, or silenced in chat? There's a difference.
And suppose they do suspend somebody's account? What's stopping them from getting a disposable email address and opening a new one in a free-to-play game? It's not as easy as you think to legally nail down someone who wants to be anonymous and trivially easy to spin up a new online identity.
Why do you think we've had to endure Account Guard and ARC Defender and changes to fleet permissions if it was that easy to keep out the undesirables?
For Olivia's sake, and others, I want them to nail the perp so hard it's not worth it to them to keep trying. Find all their alternate accounts and shut them down so that if the guy tries to start over he's doing it with the same resources a newbie has got. Sic law enforcement on him if he's using illegal tactics to hide. Sue him if he's causing them monetary damages.
That harsh enough?

We got banned from the forums due to diligent over-reporting of non-issues with no evidence.
