That's pretty much how I feel! I went ahead and bought a Mat'ha several days ago, and my Vet Destroyer almost seems sedate in comparison. It's incredibly fun to fly in Mirror Invasion. The MU mobs seem to explode if I merely point this ship in their direction.

No, no, that is how I felt when I first got the Mat'Ha some 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, there is no emote on this forum that will enable me to express my current emotion afer using it for a while.
Fully leveled to V with the trait + the Qib trait......oh man, what a beast. The ship is totally insane, it just melts everything in sight, I have no words...
I think by preformance and design as well, it's the most Klingon of all Klingon ships in STO. Heck, credits where credit is due - the designers did a marvelous job, to me it's more Klingon that the cannon designs! (herecy, I know!:D)
I've seen the Mat'ha around alot, in my opinion the Mat'ha seems to sold very well when compared to most other factions T6 ship counterparts... surely Cryptic have no more excuses NOT to make any more future end-game KDF ships from now on... I'll have to say the Qib sold well too maybe not as much as the Mat'ha
I would like to see a potential future Intel Raptors and BoP's... the Intel Raptors having a Battle Cloak (like the Qib Battle Cruiser) and the Intel BoP's having a Enhanced Battle Cloak which all are a Cloak step ahead over their Non-Intel T6 KDF Ship counterparts.

the qib might've sold better if it wasn't as thin as a frikkin' newspaper page...

That's not exclusively a Mat'ha experience though. I imagine evry upgraded ship with at least MK XIII weapons rules Mirror Invasion like this. I know my Temporal destroyer does. A single salvo of Scatter Volley is enough to vape those frigates.

This is just my personal visual perception from within the game, but considering player population percentages between the factions in the equation, the Mat'Ha Raptor may as well be the most sold T6 ship in STO currently. Everytime I'm in the game, there are a crapload of Mat'Ha Raptors, and no reason to not be like that, the ship is pure untamed awesomness.
I concur with your assesment that the Qib did well in the sales department, I see a lot of those as well. I'd say I see more of them than the Moghs when they were released and there were and are a lot of Moghs.
Hopefully Cryptic picks up the message from this - if the ships are good and worthwhile for the gameplay, they'll sell. Both the Mat'Ha and Qib are awesome ships and it's not suprising they're selling well. Both are a niche that was asked for and wasn't filled - a quality raptor and a battlecloaking battlecruiser.
Now if they're really smart and understand the pulse of the KDF playerbase, the next KDF ship they release would be a T6 Intel Bird of Prey. It's the trademark class of the Klingon Empire. I'm almost 100% certain that such ship will sell like cupcakes.

I too felt that way before drinking deeply of the Mat'ha Kool-aid.
The Mat'ha is, currently, the only ship in game with 5 forward weapons, 5 tac consoles, a Cdr Tac and access to overload subsystems. Oh, and the possibility of a decloak attack.
While there are other factors in play - surgical strikes and the Phantom's lance, or Rom BOffs - this means that the Mat'ha is at least a serious contender for the hardest-hitting ship in the game. That in itself is a welcome change for the KDF.
But yes, I'm loving mine - now kitted out with Mk XIV Elite disruptors, spire consoles and the Omega Force deflector / engine, it absolutely melts anything it can get its guns on.
Finnally i bought this... this... THIS SHIP!! is really nice you can hir 3 targets at the same same time with the consolo and usually them.... BOOM!! in the mirror event i use against 3 typhoon and only one word AMAZING!! almost kill the 3 ships!!
She is the wrecking ball of doom. Granted the Qib is fun, but nothing like this BAMF.
Only ONLY complaint, the Qib got a battle cloak and this girl did not.

It's funny and I'm not even exaggerating, but I had a few people comment when I did MU advanced that they're relieved to see a Mat'Ha in the team because it obliterates stuff, that they're impressed by the firepower and the nose cannon, one guy even called it "the best ship in STO".
Can't say I disagree, the Mat'Ha is completely insane.
Slap the Type 4 Hull mat on it and behold the glory
Well, it can use the Type 3's shiny dark green metallic look and the Type 4's flat black with red nacelles. Either of those 2 are my favorites for the ship right now.
I'd appreciate some guidance on how to best equip this ship. I'm planning on picking one up soon for my Tac Klingon captain before heading off to the Delta Quadrant. I'm not the most experienced player and not even in a fleet so I'm sorry for being a bit of a noob.
Considering the special trait I assume I should go with some mix of beam and torps with Beam Overload and High Yield torp? Should I also be mixing in heavy cannons or just focus on beams? Dual beam banks?? Turrets for the aft slots? Any particular weapons I should be looking for (I'm still working on grinding rep levels).
Any advice one which weapons, how many of each and best energy types to use would be greatly appreciated along with the most important Boff skills to use.

Thanks!
On my KDF eng, I'm currently using 4 x DHC, 1 x Dual Cannons (Daft I know, but it fits the art asset), 1 x turret, 1 x Omni-directional beam.
That allows me to slot a BAO skill for Overwhelming Force without trading off on a DHC. Cannons are going to remain the bulk of the ship's firepower, and have their own trait benefits if you have the Qib as well (and if not why not...?).
I'm considering slotting a torpedo up front but am slightly reluctant to spec into sci skills on my tac / eng alts purely for this reason. Can anyone speak for the effectiveness of doing so?
I'm running a KDF Tac officer in my Raptor with 4 x Elachi DHC's and 1 Elachi DBB up front. In back I have the Kinetic cutting beam and a heavy disruptor turret. I echo the sentiments above. This Raptor is one nasty bird!
I like the ship, but after 2 years of flying a JHAS, the turn rate is excrutiatingly slow. Most likely, I'll fly it until I get the trait, then go back to the bug.
I broke down and got it on sale, and tho it has impressive firepower with even the least of proper building, the lack of sci console slots is almost crippling for a t6 ship.
it's ALL gun, and not much else. With mastery trait in-hand I'm ready to park it after only a day of use.

I am curious what sci console you would like to seat on it? With 3 sci skills, all low tier (assuming you use turbulence in the lt intel slot), you don't want gravity or particles. ?
The obvious pick would be a fleet plasma console / threat or something, you want 3+ of those? I used mine mostly for rep consoles, both eng & sci, I think 4/5 are rep and the final one is a dyson shield cap shield heal of all things lol.

Yes, my grav/part skills are no-go on m'aha, worse is the 2 sci console slots. Would be nice to have more than a single field gen and an emitter amp- but oh well, guess I can give up a tac slot for a plasmonic leach or subspace jumper eh ?
Can't really complain about the spinal mount Disruptors but it ensures that owners always run disruptors instead of the other energy types, and the console won't work on other ships. With the lack of sci powers I found myself following a teammate that could drop GW's so that I can put the spinal cannons to their best use.

This ship isn't meant for science, it's meant for killing. It is a Raptor, it is not made to run a Grav well with a bunch of part gens. Raptors are notorious for not having much sci, I mean look at it's shield multiplier.

A flying gunship is exactly what's been asked for with a KDF ship for years. How long have we been asking for any of these?
5 TAC Console Escort
5 forward weapon Escort
And the Mat'ha fulfills both and then some. The ENG capability it has as well as Hybrid Intel slotting can make it hit that much harder. It's exactly what it is... a gunboat. The KDF's Raptor and Destroyer line had been completely obsolete ever since the Fleet Ship system was implemented long ago. When the Feds had access to 5 TAC Console Fleet Defiants, Fleet Prometheus, 5 TAC+5 Fwd Weapon Andorian Escorts, everything the KDF had for Destroyers and Raptors were rendered obsolete. And it only got worse with the advent of the revamped Patrol Escort / Tempest. But the Mat'ha finally gives the KDF a hard hitting Escort.
Now, we alongside the Roms are lacking big time in everything outside Battlecruiser and Escort. For you to make use of your SCI oriented build? You're going to have to do what one of my KDF characters are doing... fly a T5/T5U ship if you want more than average SCI capability.
