    How: Go to ground (ESD, mission, etc.) and return to space

    It seems to be resetting any hotbar adjustments made since the 10/31 patch. Anything set before then is fine, anything after is reverted. Did someone accidentally set the server-side hotbar files to read-only?

    I posted Previously about Draco@Cannyone having issues with a Tholian Orb Weaver. Well I finally figured it out... I think! (crosses fingers and knocks on wood)

    I tried switching to different ships. It didn't work and it messed up those ships loadouts as well. :mad: Then I flew around saving the loadout and decided to try Iota Pavonis sector block and chose to switch to my fighter (I discharged my shuttle). That worked for the moment!

    But, to illustrate why we need a functional system, I then discovered that I didn't like the skills on my main Science BOFF. So I changed and that threw it all off again. Basically the skills which changed would be blank and for some strange reason Full Impulse got switched with the Torpedo. So I thought the fighter should work right? WRONG! I tried it several times in different sector blocks: Eta Eridani, Regulus, Alpha Centuri, Psi Velorum, Tau Dewa and Pi Canis. All resulting in failure... So I headed back to Iota Pavonis and the fighter still didn't work.

    In desperation I decided to try switching to my Cell ship. And that finally worked!

    And I'm being told that this issue is supposedly "fixed" with the last patch... What steaming pile of equine excrement! Its actually worse now that it was before. That I should have to go through this much effort to save a loadout is ridiculous. And since you probably can't figure it out without lots of help I'm going to give you a detail that might give you a clue.

    My best friend works too much and he never has been able to play many characters. He doesn't have issues like this... and he's never even set up a loadout. I have 15 characters, 8 of which I'm actively playing. And I've had lots of issues related to the character database in the past.

    What I suspect is that the file size that your database uses is too small. So it can't save all the information properly. I wish I had never created so many characters. But I've invested too much time into them to Delete ANY of them. If you weren't set up to accommodate that many characters you should have restricted me from creating them in the first place. But obviously your database is what's causing this and you need to figure it out.

    skill/abilities tray keeps changing when I go from ground to space...

    I do NOT use any saved loadouts for skills...

    it keeps reverting to an previous loadout I have... I can change it in space to how I want it and zone from space map to space map without issues.

    Once I beam down to a ground map... my ground skills pop up on the hotbars.

    Once I beam back into space it has the OLD loadout that I have long since discarded. It is NOT the version I have when I beamed down to a ground map.

    This changes even if I have the lock tray check box marked.

    Ship is the free: Dyson Science Destroyer.


    Edit: Actually this is a problem for all the toons on this account it seems. it keeps reloading a previous skill tray... wish you could just purge all your old tray history cause it's not registering the current skills set up when you transition between ground to space. I can be in sector space, go to shuttle or ships bridge and immediately go back to sector space map and skills are all reverted back to a previous configuration.

    Khaldore@khalfyreshyft (possibly other characters, but most noticeable on this one), flying the Fleet Support Cruiser Retrofit (T5-U):

    Several BOFF abilities (and one equipped device) are removed from the Space power tray when transitioning from ground maps to Sector or System Space maps (the Ground power tray is unaffected). This issue repeats every time I make said transition, whether it be from ESD to Sol System Space, or the Zaria Mines to the Orellius Sector Block.

    This began occurring after training another player's BOFF approximately a week and a half ago. Doing so (in general) seems to make the client 'forget' which BOFFs are at which stations, while not actually removing them from said stations (as I've had this issue come up before, though never this persistently).

    I have re-saved my loadout multiple times after correcting my power tray setup, and the issue still persists. Hovering over the loadout name after transitioning back to Sector/System space brings up a tooltip which says "The loadout Starship matches what is currently equipped on the ship" (which is untrue), and clicking the loadout changes nothing in my power tray.

    Linked below are two screenshots, showing the 'before ground map' and 'after ground map' power trays. The images also show my BOFF stations, reflecting the fact that my officers are still where they should be.

    As a side note, I'm having no trouble with my power tray on this character while on Tribble. As a caveat, however, I haven't trained someone else's BOFF on Tribble, so it's unknown whether this issue would persist there as well.

    My power skill bar keeps re-arranging itself every time I enter space Sol system or sector space.

    I do not use loadouts and someone recommended me to use and save a loadout, which I did, problem continues. I have many characters on the account, and several experience the same issue.

    It is indeed a problem with the loadout system.

    The Feedback
    Mine started to give issues after DR full patch on Oct 14, 2014. But prior there were those daily patches. No issues. One of the DR patrol mission required a Shuttle. So had removed a ship and added a shuttle. That made a disaster with my FED side load-out trays but not the ship layouts. So removing the shuttle completely didn't solve the issue with the load-out of the trays.

    The Technical Problem
    Since then all load-outs were re-arranged or just gone. One member here had suggested to wipe everything out slots and save new layouts. But I have taken that one step further.

    The Setup
    So we have 10 tray slots, 10 tray items, 10 tray rows, 10 tray columns

    tray #1 (Big Personal Space)

    3 - shields/power (10 slot items)
    2 - weapons/extra (10 slot items)
    1 - movement (5 slot items)

    tray #2 (Big Personal Space)

    6 - Last Ditch (Emergency) (10 slot items)
    5 - Hazard Healing (4 slot items)
    4 - Rep Tier 5 Active Traits (2 slot items)

    Note: I use the same layout implementation system on all 3 of my players (FED, ROM-FED and KDF)

    The Fix
    [First I press "P" and un-check the locked box
    Second I wipe all 10 trays 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 all no items
    Third I create a new layout name: T5-Uxxx

    Forth Ship layout all arranged
    Fifth Tray #1 and Tray #2 all arranged
    Sixth Press "P" and checked off lock-box

    Seventh Save layout T5-Uxx
    Eighth Repeat Save in Space, in Battle, after Battle, before beam down to a planet or space station.

    Note: I do all of that prior to last patch.

    The End
    Now I don't have to do so much saving again. But still for my ROM-FED the two trays #1 and Tray #2 for Tray #4 and Tray #3 seem to have 2 items that keep on doing a switch around in allocated slots. I've saved them prior to and from locations beam down and space battles. Still no matter what I do they switch around. Always the same two items from Counter Command Space Rep 4 pc set has an add-on bonus feature that gives me the issue.

    So it's the shielding and the bubble or goo popper both change positions randomly.

    Now on my FED and KDF don't use the Counter Command full set so they don't have that issue and thus don't have no problems. Only ROM-FED does.

    Tray issues continue more than ever before...all character ships and specifically on map changes...

    Keep this thread rolling people...maybe someone will notice and work on a solution :confused:

    Like I said earlier, since the patch Thursday I now have a character that has never had issues that now has issues every time I zone.

    The issue isn't just powers falling off the tray. I have moved some skills around and not only do skills vanish but things move to other positions as well. So not only do I have to put things back in the tray, I have to re arrange skills that didn't fall off.

    Note: I tried several times to restore as the support described, but as soon as I enter a system disappear again.

    In my current Ship this problem still remains.

    Ship : Jem'hadar Dreadnought Carrier, Name : Yamato



    Start Situatuion :

    1. Logging in, skills in wrong order.

    Try to solve it by :

    2. Rearranging the skills
    3. Saving the Configuration in both Config-Slots
    4. Changing the ship to another ship. Waiting, changing back

    Result :

    5. Skills are in the wrong order again. In the order like in step 1.


    I tried another way.

    1. Logging in the character. Skills in the wrong order in the skilltray.
    2. Rearranging the skills
    3. Saving them in both Config-Slots
    4. Logging out of the Game.
    5. Logging in again.
    6. The skills are - sometimes - in the right order.
    7. After zoning - to starbase or somewhere else - and zoning back, the skills are again in the wrong order. (In the order of step 1 again).


    Attention :

    I tried to store them again. This time i changed to my shuttle (Captain's Yacht). After switching back to my Dreadnought i lost my whole Science Ensign Station!
    Be careful.

    Still Geist@virusdancer here...not going to bother mini-quoting my earlier posts. I was all set to come in and say, "Yay!" cause the issue was no longer happening on my Benthan. I'd picked up a Fleet Nebula and it wasn't happening there either. Then uh...I flipped over to the D'Kyr and...yeah, no "Yay!" - meh. On the D'Kyr, it's even stripping Captain and Reputation abilities...only four things show on the bar (Evasive, Sensor Scan, SNB, and BFI) now.

    IT IS WORSE than it was before... plz fix this or get rid of the load outs or make it client side so we can delete the loadouts with ease if we desire to. Right now you have tons of players that don't even want to play because of it including myself... I am actually only logging on because of the mirror event and once that is done I won't be playing or putting money into the game until this issue is resolved. it is also rather bogus that a dev created this thread and yet there hasn't been any dev replies. I also said in an earlier post that I would be willing to recreate this issue on my toon if a dev contacted me in game and a week later there has been no contact.

    The only reason I think it's related to the loadouts (and probably why they do too) is because the problem started when the loadout system was introduced. Considering it deals with the power trays, it probably involved some interacting with those trays even if there wasn't a loadout saved.

    Just to confirm though, I too have had the bug on ships I haven't made any loadouts for yet.

    If I switch sector space, go into a system, log out, it ALWAYS resets on my fleet dreadnought.

    have tried various methods including switching ships or sectors as instructed by GM's... not working at all.

    As I only use 1 setup, on 1 ship, I had this issue occur before i created any loadouts, and only created them when the GM suggested it as part of the process.

    Actually this is incorrect.

    We first started having problems with the power tray icons and missing bridge officers long before the introduction of the loadout system.

    It could go back longer if my memory is incorrect, but I believe our issues first started back in season 6 when small craft were separated out from other ship types and the ability to set one to active in addition to your active large ship was introduced.

    Sounds about right. I believe that was the cause of other issues as well, such as loading biographies in a timely manner.

    On Dragnock@OblivionAura after finishing any pve que or the sector space borg events (which btw last few times i've run them the boss doesn't show up) ie Mirror invasion, Crystalline catastrophe and all the others my risain cruise ship always un slots Fluidic space counter blast and reactive shield system also my galaxy dreadnought always un slots advanced metaphysical shield and heavy bio molecular turret barrage

    As others have said this is not solely a loadout problem, the problem has been present since around season 6 along with other bugs that are still on the go since then, well before loadouts. Loadouts is just a buggy system put on top of the underlying problem.

    The game cannot save items in the correct locations properly, & the loadout system can't either. Put them together & we have our current situation.
    Devs - This is what happens when bugs aren't fixed and new systems & expansions are released on top of them.

    It is currently unknown what causes the issue to first trigger for a character or ship.


    It'd be nice if we were able to delete a created loadout instead of just saving over it.


    I managed to get my T5-U Defiant to be mostly alright after the command tray being completely 100% broken on all 10 rows. After i set it up the way I wanted, I saved the layout to a loadout slot & logged off. When i logged back on the only thing that keeps moving about is the weapon batteries, which is the buggiest of them all in my experience, and Mask Energy Signature from the adapted maco space set. Why logging off makes any difference is anyones guess as it should have no bearing on a tray setup in any way.

    Willow@simonpgruber. I have an arkif tac carrier. Ever since I started the t5u upgrade my singularity modulator universal console is randomly unequiped. My tray powers for this item disappear every time I transition maps from ground to space.

    Doran@simonpgruber my active duty doffs for space assignment are cleared every time I transition maps from ground to space.

    Hi this is a new bug for me that has only started 2 days ago.

    The character is Jules@federationhq

    The fault started when I swapped to a talaxian engineering intel officer.

    It hasn't stopped since! I loose my space doffs upon moving maps, changing Boffs, skilling or promoting boffs, and sometimes I can't even see that I have "done" anything to cause the space doffs to go AWOL.

    I have previously since DR changed BOFFs (to common intel ones from the dil vendor) and had no ill effects.

    Hope the information helps you guys sort this, as I'm a bad enough player with the DOFF's!!!! :D

    Ah, well I apologise. I never experienced the issue personally on any of my toons until the loadout system was introduced.

    If you are having trouble tracking this down try playing the game. This issue is not difficult to reproduce.

    It's extremely frustrating having to set up trays every time I log in. It certainly doesn't make me want to spend money on STO. If the management doesn't see the value in making problems like this a priority to fix I don't see the point in paying their salaries any more.

    Sorry to say this bug is spreading, I now get it on my second main toon: kase@humblesheep, happend the last two times I have gone into the Mirror event.

    As these are the only two I have upgraded to Mk XIV gear, it looks like I'll be taking a break from the game (when mirror finishes) untill this is finally sorted.
