    Hey All,
Have a few questions, am a returning player. I bought the game initially when it first came out and only played it a month or so. Now coming back I feel very overwhelmed.

    1) Quests/missions- If I accept a mission at level 21 and end up leveling up to level 24 before I go back and do that mission are the rewards/difficulty based on current level 24 or level 21?

    2) Duty officers- I have read a few tutorials on them and have a grasp of them but how do I get more of them(aside from buying them with cash). I recently did a mission on Nimbus that gave me one(fun line of missions btw) but is there a place I can go to get a few more white quality ones to fill the ranks if you will.

    3) Space- It is so frickin big! I remember earth spacedock from when I played before, but could you guys throw me a bone on other places I should visit that are like quest hubs.

    4) Abilities- I am an engineer, where can I find a list of the abilities that I have. Under abilities I can use my points to up my proficiencies but am unable to find a list of my current abilities.

Thanks for any and all advise about the above questions. I am strongly considering restarting a new character since picking up in the level 20's so much has changed I feel so overwhelmed. But, I was given the original Enterprise as a reward(think for the collecters addition) and would hate to give that up if I start a new Character.

    Thanks again :)

    1) From my understanding (and I'm trying to be helpful), your rewards are based on the level you are when you complete the mission...

    2) There are places (Star Fleet Academy, Somewhere on Qo'nos, and there might be an equivalent on New Romulus) where you can go to run a "Duty Officer Assignment" which awards 2-3 officers each. For SFA, she's located in the round building in the southwest of the map, near Lt. Ferra. You can run 3-4 of these missions every 3 (?) days which award you a total of about 8 officers.

    3) Starbase 39 and Memory Alpha (both in Alpha Centauri Sector Block) are places to start... As well as Deep Space 9 in the Beta Ursae Sector Block

    4) the STO wiki located at sto.gamepedia.com is a great place to start for info, as well as stoacademy.com... As I am a Sci captain, I couldn't help you much on the engineering info...

I can see how it would b overwhelming, but like most other games, STO is built for you to gain experience as you go thru the missions. You can also replay ones that you don't remember, and they will give you better rewards. As you progress thru the missions, you'll learn more about what is where and what is helpful...

Hello, i'm new to the game and got a few questions.

    1. How do I dock with Earth Spacedock, I can't find it.

    2. How do I figure out how to use my points after levelling up?

    3. How do I change NPC crew members clothes?

    All help's greatly appreciated. :)

    1. Once in earth orbit, click the blue button that says "Dock"... If it's not there, get closer... it will be...

    2. Click on the words "Skill Points" in the top left (will flash if you have any to spend).

    3. You can't... They are NPC for a reason...

    1. Cool, i'll try that.

    2. Only thing I was unsure about was how to check how many points you have, i'll try to figure it out.

    3. I thought you were able to rename (and edit the attire) of your ships officers once?

Thanks for the help crm. :D

    2. It should be at the bottom of your skill window if memory serves me right.\

    3. You can change the appearance of a bridge officer at a tailor just like your captain (its a red shirt icon on the map, there is one on Earth Space Dock). You can also rename them from their info page, after the first time for the rename and clothing change it then requires energy credits.

This is general questions about co-op:

I know you can do space missions with other Player ships, my question is can you do ground missions with other players as part of your away team??
Also, can another human player be an officer (science, engineer etc.) on my vessel??

Co-op is what i'd enjoy best I think so it'd be cool to know the answers to those questions, info. appreciated! :D

I've been playing STO for a while, and I'm just now starting to get into keybinding. I have read the most popular guides, but I still have some questions, particularly with stringing together multiple commands:

    1) Hypothetical Situation. I have a keybind with 10 commands strung together. I hit the key three times, but the fourth command is on a shared cooldown and still has 10 seconds left. What will the fourth press do? Will it skip the fourth and try the fifth? Will it error out and force me to wait?

    2) World of ******** macros had a "reset" feature, that is you could specify when a macro was supposed to stop what it was doing and go back to the start. Do STO keybinds have this feature? If I start a string of 10 commands and stop at 7, does the key eventually 'reset' and start back at 1? If so, what are the criteria

    3) Does STO have any 'practice dummies'? I have been trying to answer these questions myself through experimentation, but doing so in live combat is too distracting.

Here is Practical Explanation about Next Life, Purpose of Human Life, philosophical/religious facts, theories etc.
    ___________________________
    ***********
Practical Explanation ( For Example ) :- `1st of all can you tell me every single seconds detail from that time when you born ?? ( i need every seconds detail ?? that what- what you have thought and done on every single second )

can you tell me every single detail of your `1 cheapest Minute Or your whole hour, day, week, month, year or your whole life ??

if you are not able to tell me about this life then what proof do you have that you didn't forget your past ? and that you will not forget this present life in the future ?

that is Fact that Supreme Lord Krishna exists but we posses no such intelligence to understand him.
there is also next life. and i already proved you that no scientist, no politician, no so-called intelligent man in this world is able to understand this Truth. cuz they are imagining. and you cannot imagine what is god, who is god, what is after life etc.
    _______
for example :Your father existed before your birth. you cannot say that before your birth your father don,t exists.

So you have to ask from mother, "Who is my father?" And if she says, "This gentleman is your father," then it is all right. It is easy.
Otherwise, if you makes research, "Who is my father?" go on searching for life; you'll never find your father.

( now maybe...maybe you will say that i will search my father from D.N.A, or i will prove it by photo's, or many other thing's which i will get from my mother and prove it that who is my Real father.{ So you have to believe the authority. who is that authority ? she is your mother. you cannot claim of any photo's, D.N.A or many other things without authority ( or ur mother ).

if you will show D.N.A, photo's, and many other proofs from other women then your mother. then what is use of those proofs ??} )

same you have to follow real authority. "Whatever You have spoken, I accept it," Then there is no difficulty. And You are accepted by Devala, Narada, Vyasa, and You are speaking Yourself, and later on, all the acaryas have accepted. Then I'll follow.
I'll have to follow great personalities. The same reason mother says, this gentleman is my father. That's all. Finish business. Where is the necessity of making research? All authorities accept Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. You accept it; then your searching after God is finished.

Why should you waste your time?
    _______
all that is you need is to hear from authority ( same like mother ). and i heard this truth from authority " Srila Prabhupada " he is my spiritual master.
im not talking these all things from my own.
    ___________

in this world no `1 can be Peace full. this is all along Fact.

cuz we all are suffering in this world 4 Problems which are Disease, Old age, Death, and Birth after Birth.

tell me are you really happy ?? you can,t be happy if you will ignore these 4 main problem. then still you will be Forced by Nature.
    ___________________

if you really want to be happy then follow these 6 Things which are No illicit sex, No gambling, No drugs ( No tea & coffee ), No meat-eating ( No onion & garlic's )

5th thing is whatever you eat `1st offer it to Supreme Lord Krishna. ( if you know it what is Guru parama-para then offer them food not direct Supreme Lord Krishna )

and 6th " Main Thing " is you have to Chant " hare krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare ".
    _______________________________
If your not able to follow these 4 things no illicit sex, no gambling, no drugs, no meat-eating then don,t worry but chanting of this holy name ( Hare Krishna Maha-Mantra ) is very-very and very important.

Chant " hare krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare " and be happy.

if you still don,t believe on me then chant any other name for 5 Min's and chant this holy name for 5 Min's and you will see effect. i promise you it works And chanting at least 16 rounds ( each round of 108 beads ) of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra daily.
    ____________
Here is no Question of Holy Books quotes, Personal Experiences, Faith or Belief. i accept that Sometimes Faith is also Blind. Here is already Practical explanation which already proved that every`1 else in this world is nothing more then Busy Foolish and totally idiot.
    _________________________
    Source(s):
every `1 is already Blind in this world and if you will follow another Blind then you both will fall in hole. so try to follow that person who have Spiritual Eyes who can Guide you on Actual Right Path. ( my Authority & Guide is my Spiritual Master " Srila Prabhupada " )
    _____________
if you want to see Actual Purpose of human life then see this link : ( www.asitis.com {Bookmark it })
read it complete. ( i promise only readers of this book that they { he/she } will get every single answer which they want to know about why im in this material world, who im, what will happen after this life, what is best thing which will make Human Life Perfect, and what is perfection of Human Life. ) purpose of human life is not to live like animal cuz every`1 at present time doing 4 thing which are sleeping, eating, sex & fear. purpose of human life is to become freed from Birth after birth, Old Age, Disease, and Death.

Just come back after long time away.

Alot has changed but somethings haven't.

Ground still sucks just constant tapping fire to kill then basically running to next objecgive tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap and so on.

Now to the ships. Im still learning the game again basically.

Now its free to play I dont really see much benefit of having a lifetime subscription.

Ships costing dilithium. Zen etc. On a pkus note when I logged in I had 12, 000 zen in my account. Tae it I get free zen as I have lifetime subscription?

But from what I seen there is not much opportunity to get dilithium in the earlier ranks (only at commander atm) is there events or such to get some at this rank?

Is therw a guide to how the consoles nad abilities work with eachother in improving skills??

    L

Inventory space seems drastically reduced and is always full already

Well, I'm a tad jealous, however, with that much Zen in your account, you can convert your Zen to dilithium using the Dilithium Exhange... You can get quite a bit and then some with 12,000 Zen...

If there's a console guide, I'd love to see it too... I use sto.gamepedia.com for most of my resources, but I'm too lazy to do my own math...

I've been searching the forum a bit, but I'm a little overwhelmed at the complexity of the game. I tried the game a few weeks years ago and just came back to it a few days ago, started a new character, etc. However, I know very little, except the basics of getting through a mission, combat, etc. Are there any true beginner's guides to the beginning that discusses all of the basics, terminology, etc.? Thanks.

Greetings and thank you for making this thread.

I recently acquired the omega plasma torpedo launcher. So of course I fit it on my ship but I found when attempting to fit a supporting tac console that nothing seems to modify the damage output. (as monitored from the mouse-over on the GUI) All other weapons I've fitted actively report their updated status based on consoles, power levels, etc. so I must assume this should be no different. Thus it seems that it's damage output cannot be modified or it needs a damage type I don't have readily available. Is there something I'm missing here?

    Thanks again,

I tried to force verify the install and didn't help.

Is this happening to anyone else or do I need to delete my entire install?

BTW this is the stupidest thing I've ever seen in a game I pay a monthy fee but cant post in thhe forums until my account is over a month old. But you put in a section called the accademy that in it's title is for new players to post questions.

I give the data that is needed but always get an error that something is wrong(name, password etc.) and than I land on the login screen with the verification captcha and when I use the same data here the login works.

None that I'm aware of, most times that anything "trade" related, whether it's a direct deal or the creation / existence of a channel is advertised in Zone chat, the "chat police" point people to the exchange and say "there's your trade channel."

On that note, Epic quality gear is, IIRC, bound, probably to character, maybe to account. As such, there is no method to trade said gear. However, you can buy the upgrade chip(s) and attempt to gain said gold gear on your own...

As to the omnidirectional AP with over and CrtD, I'm not sure if the RNG actually creates many of this combination and, if so, how many people are posting them to the exchange - for reasonable prices, of course. Based on what I hear the min-maxer types say, that would be arguably one of the most sought after weapons (behind an omni with the "appropriate" mix of Over/CrtH/CrtD...)
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

To rob a line: [quote: Mariemaia Kushrenada] Forum Posting is much like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever. However, opinions will change upon the reading of my post.[/quote]

Sounds like you are on a ground map. You can only see correct combat stats on an appropriate combat map. If you want to see the true stats for space equipment, go to a space map (not ground and not sector). If you want to see correct ground stats be on the ground (not your bridge).

But to skip to the answer, the omega torp is plasma, you want the tactical consoles that have "ambiplasma" in the title. Also any trait that modifies kinetic damage will work.

This tells me you're missing a lot. Ground has more complex and elegant mechanics than space. For starters, flanking, exploit/expose, plus all the benefits of squad combat instead of just a single ship.

There are many more difficult battles (the caves on paehaus crater on new Romulus is one) where simply going face first into the enemy won't work unless you're vastly over geared.
Now to the ships. Im still learning the game again basically.

Now its free to play I dont really see much benefit of having a lifetime subscription.
It is mostly a benefit for people with many characters. You get a free ship at 50, you get access to the special veteran ship which is a free upgrade to t5u, you get extra/bridge officer slots, extra ship slots, more inventory and access to liberated Borg characters. And you get 500 zen per month forever.

You also get all the benefits of a subscription, which are free respect tokens, even more boff and inventory slots as you level up, an account bank, and the energy credit limit removed.

If you only play one or two characters, then it is often best to just subscribe for one month and use the 500 zen to unlock the ec limit. Then just play free forever.
Ships costing dilithium. Zen etc. On a pkus note when I logged in I had 12, 000 zen in my account. Tae it I get free zen as I have lifetime subscription?
yup, seems you have a lifetime sub already. You will get 500 zen every month forever.

Ships cost roughy 500z per tier (10 levels). Some ships are initially available for free as you get promoted, but then are re-purchased with dilithium instead of zen. Anything bought with dil is a one-time purchase for that character only. Anything bought with zen is unlocked for your whole account and you can get as many of them as you want (usually only relevant if you want their special console or weapons on multiple ships).

At level 40 and 50 there are special ships you can buy with fleet credits. These require being a member of a fleet, and have better than usual stats. The ones for 200k credits are just max level versions of earlier ships. There are others that cost 20k credits and 4 "fleet ship modules" which you get for 500 zen each, or buy on the auctionhouse. These all get a bonus 10% hull and shield, plus one extra console and some have other bonuses. If you bought a 2,500zen ship that is exactly the same as the fleet one you only need one module not 4. Making them very affordable.

But from what I seen there is not much opportunity to get dilithium in the earlier ranks (only at commander atm) is there events or such to get some at this rank?
Starting at level 16, The duty officer system can earn you 2000 a day for turning in contraband. Many other missions reward between 5 and 500 each and you can run up to 23 at once per character.

Right after the tutorial, at the academy there is a daily lore quiz for 480 that takes a bit less than one minute.

If you are in a fleet you can join fleet actions that reward dilithium.

Daily there is an event at the academy where you click glowing lights and collect science reports then turn them in for dilithium.

At level 30 there is a story arc for all three factions named "wasteland" that unlocks daily missions for between 480 and 960 dil each(there are three you can do every day) plus special locations where you can defeat a boss for 60 dil.

The foundry also gives dilithium for each mission, and in particular featured missions give a bonus 2,000+ (longer missions give more) for the first one you play each day. I forget what level the foundry unlocks, but its well before 30.

There are a few/repeatable daily missions that reward dilithium, like the "satellite repair" mission that gives 480 and unlocks right around level 18-21.
Is therw a guide to how the consoles nad abilities work with eachother in improving skills??
sadly no, and this is very complex. Its best to post specific questions in the fleetyard sub forums.
Inventory space seems drastically reduced and is always full already
actually it was greatly increased twice, plus we now have a separate inventory for crafting materials so they don't take up inventory space.

Sell stuff more often. Just don't use the replicator for it.

I don't know where I was, but it seems you were on to it as I went to active space and found that it did reflect the proper increase in dps. Thanks!

That one gets everyone. We all try to sit at a store or our bank and check gear, but then the stats are off. Kinda frustrating.

I have a science lvl 51... What ship should I be saving up for/put effort to procure?

At this point I have been told to get the Vesta... Is this info correct?

What would be "the" ship for lvl 60 science?

    Any reply would be appreciated.
