The voth battleground is still great for reputation and dilithium. So is the undine space zone.
Right now the mirror event for the shotgun is not to be missed given how awesome the stats are/on that baby

Other than that it depends on what you want to earn. There are many queues, mission replays, foundry, etc. You said you don't like kobali, but try bug hunt elite. Gives awesome rewards and is pretty much impossible to fail.

As for the upgrade kits, crafting your own is kinda like using keys instead of selling the keys and buying what you want. Run doff missions for mats, sell everything then buy superior kits. Also, crafting and selling the level 10 green kits and buying the superior kits is better than crafting your own superior kits. NEVER use anything but a superior kit.

what are the mats for superior kits [ 2 blue components and 15k ec]? Sucks cause my other than DR rep all my reps are max

oh and advance/elite sucks right now til my stuffs XIII or XIV

For elite, you want to get into the DPs channels and work your way up. Those cannot be pugged. For advanced your build is more important than gear. You can do fine in advanced with the right build on a mirror ship with mark 12 gear. Or you can suck and hate it with mark 14 gear in a t6 ship. Its not the gear that matters. The DPs channel guys recently posted a video of a run where one of their best fflew a tier 1 ship in an advanced queue and still did more damage than a random player in a jem Haddar dreadnaught t5u.

For the crafting, you can see for yourself on any character. Just set the filters so you show higher level projects. Each one requires something different.

I was asking in general I mean basic is 2 white components, improved is 2 green components etc.

on the advance queues my dps is fine [could be better could be worse] its mostly 1 or 2 pugs not know what the "tactic" is for the instance so they tend to blow something up when they shouldn't or trigger a spawn at the wrong time etc. and for the most part that's whats so annoying. So I want better gear to actually cover other players stupidity.

Experimental requires the same as Superior plus 2 "Salvaged Technology" (which I have never seen in game and is labeled as an ultra rare mat).

Salvaged technology is an award from elite queues. Currently the best place to get some is bug hunt.

try "transwarping" to a different quest/episode to get out of Sol then head back to ESD and see if it picks up where you left off

I'm not sure if you're using terms correctly so I might not understand your question.

If you are talking about your in-game character that you edited, then at the bottom of the window there should be a button that says "next".

this takes you to a page where you enter your name and the name of your starship. You can also give your character a background story, but that is just for fun, nothing in the game uses it.

Then hit " next" again to begin.

    I have a few questions:

    1. With the reputation system you can buy lots of gear once you hit Tier 5. I notice that lots of the gear says it's part of a "set". I can usually find the first "set" in the items I can purchase, but it usually lists a second and third set...but I can't find those items anywhere. Where are those items available?

    2. I set up my ship's control panels like I like it (right click and drag icons into place) but once I log out and come back they're back where they were. How do I get them to stay?

    3. What are the real benefits of being in a fleet? I've never joined one despite being lvl50 for a very long time (lvl57 now). It just seems like a lot of confusion and I don't see clearly what the benefits are.

So how do I go about joining a fleet, for instance yours?

Someone in the fleet sends an invite. The next time you log into that character (or immediately if you are logged in) you have the choice to accept or decline the invite.

You can invite your own alts.

Here are some guidelines es for finding good fleets:
Always decline "blind invites" no fleet worth joining will invite random people without talking to them first. Stay away from these.
Good fleets don't tax new players, they help new players. Some fleets have mandatory donation rules to support projects. But people new to the game aren't always able to accommodate these guidelines and still progress comfortably. A/good fleet understands this and either gives you gear and advice to help you out, or exempts you from dominating. The best fleets have no donation requirements at all.

Active when you are. It is no good being in a big fleet who are never available when you're online. Ask when people are active and look at the events and calendar page to see if the fleet schedule is good for your play schedule.

Their attitude and goals match yours. If you're a competitive pvper, you won't be happy in a fleet that roleplays dramatic scenes in the TOS era. If you're totally casual you won't be happy in a fleet dedicated to elite and advanced end game play. Make sure they do what you want to do.

Now, if you need a laid back fleet Klingon side that is active prime east coast hours and mostly letsmpeople play solo but does run team stuff on the weekends, I'm in a good one. Or if you are an ex city of heroes player, I'm in both federation and Klingon fleets composed entirely of people who used to play that game. I'd be glad to talk more about either option if they interest you. Theres quite a few/other good fleets around. NEVER look for fleets near earth or drozana.

I' haven't played in about 3 years but I realized I still have a lifetime subscription and there has been a couple of expansions so I thought I'd give it another shot.

Back when I last played it basically came down to running the task forces every day and doing some pvp. I really enjoyed leveling up most of my characters on pvp but at high levels it seemed kind of stale.

Anyways has there been any major changes to the PvP in the game and is there an active pvp playerbase at lower levels?

umm question about difficulty levels for Episodes. Does upping the difficulty allow for more and "better" drops e.i less whites and greens etc. or is it same drop rates and rarity just the stuff hits harder and has more Hp?

The chances of getting a drop are the same. But the quality of the drops are better

so if on norm its more W-G then advance is more G-B and elite is more G-B-P and less to no W drops kind of thing? and episode rewards arnt effected as well by this?

That's the idea. And the Difficulty settng only affect NPC stats in instanced missions and the drops you get from the NPCs. Missions rewards I'm not sure about. XP/Expertise might be affected. But any items and the like are scaled your level in most cases.

yea just did a few Advance level Missions a while back for the first time: I typically do them on normal since having 6 lvl 50+ toons I want to do them on the easier settings and blow right on through then waste time on them but if better drops and possible more in mission exp my go back and do some of the skipped missions on my lvl 60 to grind for more talent pts

    Hey all,
Just wondering under which category the FSM's are now, on the exchange. I would like to sell off one of my fsm's and need to do a more accurate price check, but can't find fsm"s under any category, save for the infamous "all" category, which is fairly useless.

If you get an item that levels with your cap and you put it on a boff, does it keep leveling with your cap or does it stay at whatever your boffs level is at? Such as if I get a Fluidic Wrist Launcher for all my ground officers.

My Qs are many and dumb, but I'll try to keep'em short. So here goes:

    - is there a way to cease firing in space combat?

    - will RSP and FBP conflict with each other if I activate them simultaneously? What if my opponent hits RSP when I use FBP?

    - if I equip two Undine set phaser turrets, only one of those will count for the set bonus purposes, right?

    - one auxiliary cannon won't drain my auxiliary power at all, right?

    - can I mount said cannons on ships other than the Vesta? (the Scryer, for instance)

    - what does the gravimetric doff that "reduces cooldown on exotic damage powers when a spatial anomaly is activated" actually do?

    - with a modest investment in graviton generators (6 from skills, 30-40 from items), will I require the doff that disables engines on use of TBR?

    - will I be able to reach the Holy Grail of 400 partigens without them fleet consoles? If not, what kind of resource expenditure am I looking at here - how many fleet credits, modules, say, for 4 fleet partigen consoles?

    - is the Obelisk warp core the only one that allows for 130 aux power? Could I get one that gives a percentage of my aux to weapons and still retain +10 to max aux?

    - the chance to up the rarity of an item during the upgrade process only applies when the mark goes up, right? And, once the item is Mk XIV, there is no way to improve its rarity?

    - the dumbest of them all: sensor analysis. Am I right in thinking that you hit it, wait for the cooldown to pass, hit it again, rinse and repeat?

How do you view your character's full name? I mean First, Middle, and Last. All I see is last, because that's what I set my captain name to be.
