Stats now posted:

http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/7006983

5 Fore
5 Tac consoles
Console - Universal – Heavy Disruptor Spinal Cannons
Overwhelming Force trait - Beam Overload attacks will create a reduced radius Charged Particle Burst at the target's location. Your High Yield Torpedo attacks will create a reduced radius Photonic Shockwave at the target's location.

Slightly let down by a turn rate of 15... but with that much firepower who's complaining. Thank you Cryptic for putting a Klingon ship, however briefly, at the top of the firepower tree!

Plus think about what that trait will mean to a vaper build that mixes BO and THY into their alpha, or that the console disables engines for a moment. "Hold still while I pound the everliving TRIBBLE out of you!"

Wonderful to see that they've decided to really give the Klingons a good raptor.

I hope there's more than that. The Guardian cruiser the feds get needs a KDF equivalent - I could do wonderful things in a ship like that.
    Weapons:
    4 Fore, 4 Aft
    Device Slots: 4
Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Lieutenant Commander Tactical, 1 Lieutenant Intel/Engineering, 1 Commander Engineering, 1 Lieutenant Commander Science, 1 Ensign Universal
Console Modifications: 3 Tactical, 4 Engineering, 3 Science

A bit heavy @ 6.5* per second, but DAMN- a LtCDR TAC and SCI ?

Can't wait to see what that 75 inertia rating on the Mat'Ha feels like(higher than the T'varo, Somraw, and Bug; only 5 lower than a B'rel).

well I was going to buy it anyway now I'm going to enjoy it. and the trait works very well for most of my builds.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

The raptor I have been waiting for! If it can equip the intel skin ( dark grey an red tron lines ) I will be very happy!!! Just think the shield mod should be at 90 not 85, no biggy tho.

Agreed. The design alone was one of the motivators to purchase this ship (Delta Rising Operations Pack). I'm going to enjoy swapping my KDF Qin Raptor for this beauty! The stats looks pretty good.

This Raptor is an untamed, brutal beast!

I think the Mat'ha just switched my main from battlecruisers to raptors. This ship will be a perfect fit for him. I'll have to assign one of my other Klingons to be the battlecruiser char from now on. :D

Ditto, and with that Lt.Cmdr engineer station It will be reasonably durable as well. :)
Looking forward to the fleet version already lol.

Looks like I'm switching from Rommie and Fed mains to KDF.

This ship is wicked sexy, and INCREDIBLY powerful.

Looks like all of our complaints about KDF firepower parity have been answered! This thing is going to beat the everloving cr*p out of that wimpy Phantom, and pretty much anything short of an upgraded Scimitard.

    Plus, it looks REALLY good.

    Definitely buying this.

From the discription of the Spinal Cannon, it sounds a bit like an inherant cannon scatter volley, hit all enemies with in its arc (not sure what arc it has, but it says its a pair so I'm thinking dual cannons).

It will send my enemies to Sto vo kor and then travel there because I wasn't done with them.

I will get this ship since it will be the most powerful offensive ship ever had in our KDF line up and no doubt the ship we've been waiting for thats on par and/or sumwhat better than many later Feds Escorts that came out on the C-store over the years...

The Console's amd BOff's are good, and i did expected a 5/2 layout which i was right.

Despite the overall impressive offensive firepower of the Mat'ha, it shared from the some outdated previous raptors stats of a lower turn rate compare to Fed Esocrts (15 on Mat'ha) which can be compenstated with Fleet Eng or Universal Consoles with [+Turn] and from Rep/Personal Traits. it still has a slight inferior Shield Mod (0.85 ~ Tier 6 Fleet 0.95) to many Fed Escorts and also Romulan Esocrt Warbirds.

If they made a Romulan Warbird with the exact combined Consoles, BOff's and Weapons setup as the Mat'ha i'll bet u that Cryptic will give a Shield Mod better than 0.85 on that of non-Fleet Raptors, giving the Escort Warbird Shield Mod around at 0.90-0.95 which is common on non-Fleet Esocrt Warbirds all while having a Battle Cloak while the KDF Raptor have only a Basic Cloak with weaker Shield Mod... despite this disadvantage on Raptors, i still believe the Mat'ha is still worth getting for it's sheer firepower.

Agreed but I'd even take the Mat'ha if they swapped out the Lt.Comm ENG to a Lt.ENG
and upgraded the intel slot to Lt.Comm SCI/Intel with the consoles at 5 Tactical, 2 Engineering, 3 Science
... then I'd be a lot happier SCI captain ready to spend some money. ;)

I'd have preferred a 4/3,... I slot my Omni Disruptor and a torpedo in the back, if I have 3 slots also the borg console. I truly do not understand the fascination with 5 fore weapons. 4 has always been more than sufficient for me across all factions.

I will probably be waiting for the next BoP though. If I have to have only 2 rear weapons, I'd rather have a smaller, faster ship with battle cloak to do it in.

Well, I come back from another break from the game to catch up on the news and finally saw Cryptic puts up the stats of the non-Intel T6 ships.

I read them, expecting the KDF Raptor one to be underwhelming. Much to my surprise, even though it only possesses standard cloak (which nobody gives a **** about once the shooting starts), it is hands down the best of the non-Intel T6 boats.

5 forward weapons, 5 TAC Consoles, moderate turn ability in line with Escorts, LtCdr ENG while still having enough TAC. The consoles seem to synergize with what the ship is about, unlike the other faction ones.

The KDF ship is clearly better, which is a rarity. Not only that, it looks more like an evolved Vor'Cha. This ship should sell very well among the KDF playerbase and will be FOTM for a while once released. On top of it all, it's a faction ship that can perform, so the TAC-centric KDF players out there can finally fly a... you know... Klingon looking ship for once that can perform with the best.

And this is the store version of the ship and not the Fleet version which they said will release sometime after DR goes live. So expect to see the usual boosts that a move into a Fleet version gets.

like most things in this game the new raptor has a few things i dont like but it has other things i do like. the engineer boff slots are plentiful enough to still heal. tac is fine if not overkill for my builds. and 5 tac consoles Finally so this one yeah ill give it a try and buying it should give the fleet version a discount when it comes out so it wont be wasting money. and i have allot of KDF toons so a decent c-store ship even if my main dont stick with it will find some use.

im just thinking its time to drag that old honor guard set out. with the quantum sig manip cloak. and mask energy sig possibly fluidic cloak escape console . should be able to pop out of cloak take out target and get the Frak out of dodge in one piece. then rinse and repeat.

and with honor guard set get the torp buff ,which unless they fixed the 5 cannon stutter will probably be needed. and wanted with the ship trait.

i do find it interesting that the ship trait has nothing for cannons. only beam and torp.

So I'm thinking based on the Trait, Torpedo, 3 DHCs, DBB Front. 2 Turrets rear.

BO gets an AOE upgrade and THY gets an AOE upgrade.

I do think we got a little shafted with the speed and turn rate, Klingons, the faction who have the best handling cruisers and the best handling ship in the game (BoP). Only seem to make slower Raptors than their Fed Escort counterparts.

The Shield doesn't worry me, but I think 150 crew would have been better. The big question is what will those Console Cannons be like?

I'd also have preferred a Lt.Com Tac to an Engineer.

On the Romulan Aelahl and the Fed Guardian I think they knocked it out of the park, the Raptor not so much, but they completely borked the Dauntless IMO. Already 3 Fed Threads asking for improvements to it.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001.

Half a day later, I can't really express just how happy I am for this ship. It looks awesome and very Klingon, it's brutal, wild....it's what I was dreaming of.
I always had a soft spot for Raptors I just didn't utilize them much because they lacked......well, everything. The Mat'Ha changes this, let's hope it will push a new era for Klignon Raptors and bring them back to their rightfull place in this game.

Correction - even an upgraded Scimitard doesn't stand a chance from a suprise attack by this Klingon embodiment of pure destruction. Especially if caught by suprise or from the rear.

But yeah, it's wicked sexy. That nose spinal cannon looks awesome! Cryptic has a habbit of always nailing Klingon designs, every single one looks epic. And commeth the Mogh, and now this - it seems they're finally staring to nail the setups KDF players prefer on their ships.

only if they don't put up a fight

even the most anti-federation klingon will give credit where credit is due when facing a true warrior

unfortunately, there are very few of those left in the federation these days...they're either annoying loudmouth peaceniks like sugihara; irritating, incompetent buffoons like kurland; or vicious, honorless terran empire clones like...well, the majority of starfleet it seems

Don't forget the short duration cloak of Intelligence Team in your Science/Intel BOff spot, if you put a Science BOff in the Uni Lt. (or go without Science proper), you could have two copies of Intelligence Team which should be 15 second global.

Reading this thread, I do feel a bit sorry for Cryptic's devs. They finally produce an emphatically Klingon attack ship, which arguably outguns everything else in the game (with the *possible* exceptions of the Kumari and Scimitar) but there is still a posse braying that its turn rate is "only" 15, and its shields are inadequate.

Well, this and the Qib are buyers for me; luckily my main alts are Klingon Tac and Eng, so it fits perfectly. A T6 KDF science vessel for my Sci would also be welcome, but please make sure it's as good as the other two :).

I never really had a soft spot for Raptors.

When STO released, the TAC & Alpha strikers were flying Hegh'ta BOPs. Still, you did see a lot of Raptors back then but I wasn't one of them. I either flew a Vo'Quv, Vor'Cha, Negh'Var, or Hegh'ta.

I disappeared from the game for a long while. When I came back, I got familiar with the game again and took my Klingon into Arena. Flying my old Qin Raptor.

I ran into a ship I had never seen before, but knew very well from watching DS9. A JHAS.

I'll skip the gory, hilarious details of that fight, but after that horrible experience, I never flew a Raptor since then. The new T6 Raptor will change that habit.
