launcher issue, help requested

cryptic laucnher update
trying to update the launcher please be patient.
tried conecting 5 times.

ERROR
connection problem
unable to establish connection to the patch server. please check your internet connection.
if problem persists please contact technical support

ok so about 4 hours ago i went to work leaveing my pc on standby, came back and receved the above message everytime i try to start the star trek launcher like i say it was working about 4-5 hours ago fine maxed out with no problems. the only change on my pc has been a small AVAST update which i hope has not effected sto in anyway

    Could be changes in your ISP, or the network load their processing... Since this is a connection issue, take a look at this thread, then post some network diagnostic information...

    Happening to me as well. Worked fine last night. Restarted computer, didn't help. Internet is fine, obviously.

    Coincidentally, I've read news of some recent DDoS attack affecting multiple games and game services.

    what does this mean? my connection is fine. warthunder/defiance/world of tanks/ all work fine with no problems sto was fine but now wont even lauch the launcher.
    is it because i still use steam to launch sto?

    Whats going on? I was playing for most of the day only had one more CE and then BAM! things slowed down so i quit and tried to relog in and ..... NOTHING!

    tried conecting 5 times. And all i got was this message...

    Same issue here. It worked fine just a few hours ago and now I can't connect at all.

    EDIT: Launcher worked but now I can't connect to the game servers even though they say they are online.

    Getting same problem. Tried multiple times (both me and the launcher). Even tried rebooting computer (which sometimes clears connection-to-STO problems). Nada. Not sure if shutting down/rebooting external modem will do any good, since Internet connection alive and well, but may have to, just to check and see. :(

    I too am getting the same message, and I was on yesterday and played all day with no problems or crashes. Then this morning go to log on and wham - error message.:eek:

    It's not an issue on your end. If you had connection issues to internet then that would be a thing to try. Since it's not, you shouldn't.

    Listen up, people!


    It seems that a group of script kiddies is executing a DDoS attack on various game servers.

    Among the affected are the Playstation Network (PSN), a few Blizzard game services (WoW and Diablo III), Path of Exile, and apparently Cryptic's patch server (at the very least) has also been brought down, as this unable to connect issue is persisting even to their other games.

    There is nothing you or anyone can do until the server is brought back up. It is nothing to do with your internet connection, nothing you've done recently, its simply a DDoS attack carried out by a third party.

    Account server is unavailable as well. So you can't just fire up the client, without going through the patcher and login from the client.
