    Investigating

Sooo after 3 weeks did you came up with something ?

    Anything ??

I decided to waste a portion of my life and explain some peps at my ISP things we are discussing here...
After some time guy there asked me nicely do i seriously think they can even consider this as their problem and like something they need to fix ?

From 4+ millions of users they have this need to report astronomically high number of people for them to even considerate investigate where is the problem and if they are the problem indeed..

Sooo to sum things up ... all ISP-s who cant connect to STO don't care about 1 game even IF and IF IF IF IF they are the source of problem and that is what i am not sure at all ..

    When i say all ISP-s that are **** loads of ISP-s ...

Now one questions... they don't care about 1 game but will Cryptic Studios care about all that people ?
This is how games are going down .. i saw it many times and when it start things go down fast ...

Hello. I've started playing just the week before the last patch, but after that day, I had the same problem many have already described in this thread, I've got to the point to consider myself lucky to actually see my character on the list since most the times it didn't even load.
Tried few "fix" I've found around the net, but none did actually helped, then today, I've messed around with the client.
Strange enough, in the option of the launcher, I've unchecked "Minimize to tray" and saved.
After that, except few laggy moments and "server not responding" I was able to actually play.
Why it started working after that, I have no idea, but well, thought to share this, in case someone else would want to try to see if it fixes the issue for the moment.

Been having similar issues myself past few days, a lot of drops, takes forever to login, et cetera. Hope they take a look at this soon.

Here are all of my Stats from TracerRt, Nettest, and PathPing. I am using Windows 8.1 with 16Gb ram, i7 processeor and 3 GB videocard. My ISP is Shaw cable in Calgary Alberta Canada.

After Patch 9.5 I started noticing some rubberbanding, and today it turned ito a full blown disconnect right after I finished mining my dilithium. The time started but I received no dlilithium.

    Can anybody assist please?

They never did care and never will. All this traceroute stuff is just to scare peeps of that are not familiar with the internet and make them believe that it's really on their side.

If you can't prove it's _not_ on your side they ignore you and if you can prove that's on their side they ignore you as well.
Do you really believe anyone but the community-cens^Wmanagers really ever take a look at your traceroutes?

And they've been doing this for years.

I should say in Cryptics favour this process did help me diagnose an issue with my modem that had a stealth update that throttled my access.

More importantly though, it also showed an issue with a California ISP about 18 months ago.

I'm not saying that Cryptic is the only company with bad support/internet problems but they surely didn't invent the "process of doing traceroutes". 8-)

Actually i believe that their fanboys telling peeps that's on their side got more IP-knowledge than their own techies. If they got some... Which, if not, would not falsify my statement anyway. 8-))

All I know is it worked fine this morning (GMT) but now we're probably in peak times I can't get in at all. Very frequent disconnects, timeouts and server not responding.

I even saw a timeout2 error screen after choosing my captain and trying to load the map. I've never even seen that one before.

I am also having constant disconnects and major lag/stutters. It also took the launcher about 8 times to download the game (it would constantly crash) for a total of over 12 hours to download and patch.

The game actually worked well for about 2-3 hours 2 days ago, but after that it went back to lagging.

I ran a bunch of tests earlier today, there seems to be major issues on the US side of things, there is one node that has almost 100% packet loss. IP for that node from me was 38.111.40.114 and is the second to last, right before the STO server.

And i am sure they know all about that ..

Game still not working and jerks don't even bother to come and say something about this problem..

That node is the Cogent.Co Boston's server ... right now my ping is very good, around 170ms but the game is super slow, server not responding and stuff like that.
And no VPN is working, not expat shields, not openvpn.
Someone should have a talk with whom is responsible for that server : european money incomes at stake, Cryptic.

It seems ok now since the yesterday's patch.
The launcher still takes a few minutes until it spawns the engage button, but I was able to play relatively ok.

I've been unable to play the game lately due to the same issue reported here, I'm not going to make a ticket since I've lost all my faith in your customer support service a long time ago, I've been playing this game since 2 months before it went free to play and I've been a loyal subscriber for over 850 days (last year I've cancelled my subscription because I'm a kdf only player with 14 alts... need I say more?), I'm at the point where I run a tracert before even try to log in and if results are as follows I just play another game and spend my money there...
