Its amusing that your 'Net Test' results match your observations when playing STO... This is one of the reasons why intermittent networking problems are so hard to track down...

English is not my native language so i missed the point of your post ..
To be honest i have no idea what you wrote , didn't understand it at all.

Yeah right, a week ago the game works fine, and then suddenly all kind of different internet providers decided to TRIBBLE up our connection with cryptic server. This is big problem for the entire EU region and i doubt it is our internet the problem, since everything else works fine.
Steam - No Problem, Origin - No Problem (just mentioning them because they are US servers as well)

That's what i am trying to explain in last 15 posts here but ...

Yes, like a gamer is supposed to be an informatic engineer ...
A gamer is just looking for fun, not for lag ... he meets a laggy game, he moves on to the next ... a gamer, not a trekkie though.
Moreover, any other game runs better, even while playing Youtube ... too many coincidences IMO.
Sorry for them though ... I wasn't able to buy a few romulan survivor duty officer packs today.

Since the weekend patch, the game has become again unplayable.
This has happened again about a month ago and laster about two weeks.

    Here's how it goes:
    1. Takes around 1 minute to get the login menu from launcher.
    2. Takes around 3 minutes to get the game launched after login.
    3. Takes 1-2 more minutes to get to character selection.
    4. Takes 1 minute to load another character screen.
    5. When entering a character I usually get a logout timeout or 2, after which it finally enters.
    6. While in-game there are permanent lags of around 1 minute.
After 1-2 minutes of total lag, the game usually DCs again in 3 of 4 cases.

Practically, it took me over 1 hour to get some doff mission started on 3 characters, something that suppose to take 5 minutes in normal circumstances.

    Notes:
I have no network or PC issues. I have a high end PC that can run any known game maxed out.
I have top of the line fiber connection with 8ms 'ping' to the main country node.

    So what is happening ?

    Greetings,

    I also am having issues.

    - Constant SNR's (Server Not Responding) like every 30 seconds
    - lagging/rubberbanding
    - Constant disconects

This happened about 1 month ago. I been playing for 10 months straight on a wifi connection with little to no problems, that is until a month ago. But I noticed it was also when I was streaming or watching YT videos.

So I had my ISP come over and they have set up an extension of some sort. Now my internet is STUPID fast and no probs. When it comes to STO tho the problems still were there ever AFTER the patch.

I have submitted ticket ID #2,630,448 but wanted to keep this up there in awareness especially seeing that it's being investigated.

Game's unplayable from Greece, while it was working fine about a week ago.

To those asking for logs, yeah not happening, I'm not a freaking engineer, sort your own stuff out. This is replicated from all over the EU and from numerous people, this is obviously stuff that Cryptic needs to fix.

It's like 2-3 weeks that i'm able to play on STO only via vpn/proxy. Without, i cant even load my launcher and, those times i'm in, i have like 20k ms of ping and the server disconnects me over and over and over again...
Via vpn, through expat shield or similar (hotspot shield, ultrasurf, openvpn, etc...), i have a decent ping, but it's not a solution. Do something cryptic, this lag doesn't affect only the launcher, but also the gameplay server, it's really frustrating.

ps: from italy, 2-3 fleets are experiencing this problem...

How about now get your balls up and come and post this have nothing to do with our ISP and tell us you are working on fixing this ?

Or you going to continue that TRIBBLE how our ISP cant maintain stable connection with STO servers ?

And ofc make some post about how this will not happen in the future so i think about spending cash again..
But that's big "maybe" tho .. i spent 2 weeks playing your game and nearly same amount not being able to log in ..

    Nice start lolz ...

I have installed the openvpn program and since then, about 2 hours ago, the game is running smooth : the program asked me where to connect to and I chose San Jose, CA so it seems there's something wrong with some EU servers, which are affecting a few countries but not all ( Italy, Greece , Romania , as far as I know from my friends )
    Anyway use that tool.

Lets see if the VPN indeed works. Nevertheless if it solve the problem - it should be considered temporal solution, not a permanent one.

EDIT: Did i download something wrong or this open VPN is paid (the program is called Private Tunnel)

Good to know that with "openvpn" the game is running fine, nevertheless this is a workaround: the issue - server side - is still present.

And yes, Sabijac is right: it would be nice to hear something official about this connection problem.

It seems the game works with the EU STO proxy for EU countries. There are delays and sometimes few second lags, but thats way better than the 1-3 minute lags and permanent DCs.

I have also tested via US VPN and it seems to be at least as good, therefore I can conclude only that the main problem is in the default route filtering / wrongfully prioritized traffic.

Everyone non US/EU should try to play via US VPNs. It should be temporary working solution.

I've tried openvpn, with no effect.
Truth be known: maybe it is my fault, I don't know how to proper configure and use openvpn.
That said: a bug is always a bug ---> Crypric/PWE please release a patch to solve the issue.

Perhaps i should report this as well. PWE's precious ARC client is also affected. The integrated browser in it does not load anything - i managed only to login and update it, nothing more. it even failed to start STO Launcher.

UPDATE : Actually it seems openvpn is not for free ... after a couple of hours, STO started lagging again and openvpn was asking me to pay after trespassing some data transfer threshold.
Then I have installed HotSpot shield, which - i guess - is not free either, but if I remember well, I have read that I have 3 free days ... and it's working well so far.

It's the first time I use these programs too and I am not such a geek ... I just signed up, given my email, replied their email and chose San Jose, CA ... that's all.
Anyway, it seems that is not entirely Cryptic's fault ... it seems like some probably cheap EU servers which connect STO with some ISP are not working properly or something like that ... I am not an expert.
Moreover, I have read while loading my launcher a red label that the website is down or something and gameplay should not be affected.

The problems with these free vpn 3rd party softwares are a) not unlimited bandwidth in some case b) website restriction access. For example, after a week of expat shield, now i'm not able to open sto-forum , stoacademy and many other related sites i use while connected with their vpn (maybe 'cause i passed the associated site bandwidth, gameplay server not affected, it works fine).
So, Cryptic, we are saying you have to look at your ISP/internal routing, because from EU, in my case from Italy with Telecom Italia ISP, without workarounds, your game is just unplayable.

So, what im understanding is that Im supposed to contact my broadband service provider (Optus in Australia) and tell them of everything I do on my internet, d/l'ing, streaming, playing BF4; this game, called Star trek online lags and is unplayable, then to tell them that I already know the gaming connection of Optus is routed out via Asia to get to the Cryptic server and then have them laugh at me, considering I have brand new connections, brand new pc and modem/router.

This is really frustrating me that all I can do is log in and stand around new Romulus command because the minute I go into an stf, or do anything I get insane lag. I paid for the LTS (and my excitement about delta rising is fading since 2 maintenance's ago this started) and I deserve the right to play, along with everyone else here.

Yeah im ranting, for the lack of a better word, im extremely frustrated.

This is really bad I was in a foundry mission near the end and I get a message saying Unable to Connect to the Server. Now I had to force disconnection since the meter was climbing up past 100 mark. So now it tells me it can't connect to the patch server. Prior to this issue I've been seeing more Unable to connect to the server after this last patch update.

Whatever has changed prior to this needs to be reverted otherwise I am dead in the water as they say.. Before to the last patch I was doing fine..

I going to do a taskkill and revert everything to see if that will bring-up the launcher.. As I am typing this now it seems to be patching.. in the background.. crossing my fingers on this one ....

I got back on but now it has happen again ...

    SERVER NOT RESPONDING (268.00s)

    Hanging at 40.49
    Patching 5 files, 0 bytes..
I'll let the author of this foundry mission know of the problem

run a taskkill on the game client.exe the only way to get out of the game.
    Cleaned memory
    restart the game again..

Please sort this thing. Its really frustrating. Also, this may help a bit. Today, for the first time i got conected via eu2.cyrptic......com proxy and game worked flawlessly. Then something went wrong and I was conected again on eu1.cryptic.....com proxy. Still same lag, rubberbanding, etc.

Folks, when trying to diagnose lag (even if a dev is investigating) they NEED YOUR TRACE ROUTE, PATH PING AND NETSTAT RESULTS. This helps isolate where the problem is, including if it's in the client itself.

Just over a month ago I've submitted my tracerts and nettest results directly to Cryptic in the past. Snarky customer support comments aside, the lag cleared somewhat.. not enough to play any events but at least I could do basic doffing and r&d. However since the patch from two weeks ago, the lag has returned and this time its worse than ever.

Respectfully I don't think the root cause is a simple network lag issue. If I were to try and continually connect to the game over a period of half an hour, most of the time I cannot even make it to the character selection screen, occasionally I'll get past character selection but encounter "login2_timeout". Once in a while I manage to get all the way in and can play a character (usually in ESD or Starfleet Academy) without any issue. I can move around, interact with NPCs, buy/sell from exchange, doffing, R&D. It all works. However the moment I try to move to another map, I get disconnected again. Honestly, I have never seen a network lag issue that operates in this manner.

Anyway, here's a fresh round of tracert and nettest. If it helps, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 64-bit version.

I tried running nettest several times, leaving it running for around 10 minutes each time but it always hangs after the first or second port 80 test, so all I can report is this:
