I'd like to add feedback on the Regent class cruiser.
This is the first cryptic designed ship that has me considering not using a canon ship. I'm having a hard time choosing between using this skin and the Sovereign class skin. The only thing I would really change would be to tweak the nacelles a bit, but really overall I believe this is the best design cryptic has ever come up with for Federation ships.
As a sidenote, I also like the Romulan ships they have designed, particularly the Ha'pax and Ha'nom types.
I have noticed when I purchased the TOS Constitution class ship (Enterprise 1701) that there
are some inconsistencies from TOS (I have been watching it so I know) the errors I have noticed are:
the warp nacelles spinning Orange things are the wrong colour the correct colours are orange and a light pink orange, I think this should be changed.
Another error are that the hull is far too shiny and the wrong colour, the panels are also incorrect as they are regular in TOS, the ship is more silver in the game than the light dull grey it should be, this also ruins the overall look of the ship.
the end of the warp nacelles are also smooth and grey in the game when they are grill like and black in TOS the balls at the end are also grey in the game and should be white, I would like this to also be fixed, I'm also sure that the domes on the bottom and top of ship should be light up.
the windows on the ship are also in the wrong place and the wrong size, this needs fixing.
I hope this is looked at and fixed, thanks for reading bye!
is anybody of STO even reading this? because stuff that is posted a long time ago, is still left the way it was WRONG! if you make a forum thread or title like "the art of star trek online" then hopefully smby is reading this and (most importantly) working on it!!!!
Doesn't quite seem right that the Bortasqu cannot use the Bortas template. As I understand it they are quite similar save for the back portion of the hull where the bridge becomes a bird of prey. Why would it be there if the console isn't equipped? Also it doesn't quite make sense that the window in the bridge indicate that the bridge is there in the back.
I actually really like the ship. You would make a kdf player quite happy with this option.
why can we not change colours on our ships? i try often but i still stuck on old colour of the ship.. maybe i don't post on right location but it is my first post..
Add to existing interiors, rooms scaled with interior sizes(can exclude capts quarters, mess hall, ready room), need cloaking device prop for Klingons and Rom engineering decks, armory, astrometrics.
The Ar'kif Hull used with the Ar'kala wings, it creates a gap that allows you to see through the hull where the two sections should meet behind the head.
I don't know if this is the appropriate thread but i'll try anyway.
I'd like to see a additional ship model for the Avenger Battlecruiser. As i have already said in another thread, the existing ship model of the Avenger doesn't look balanced or even completed, because the saucer looks way too "light" and too narrow, in contrast to the bulky and muscular looking rest of the ship.
So i would love to see a almost forgotten ship model being finally introduced to STO, perpetuals Excalibur class.
I know many ppl dislike that ship, but in my opinion it look way better than Cryptics Avenger Class. The funny thing is that the Exalibur Class is alread in the Game as derbis at some battle maps.
Here some references:
Cryptics Avenger
Perpetuals Excalibur class
I would really love to see this ship as a alternative model/ship parts being made for the Avenger.

- (TNG) Picard, quoting Judge Aaron Satie
1: main impulse need to be corrected
2: warp nacelle should be a little fatter
3: side view of saucer needs to be a bit more wider towards the end (front part is ok but in the middle i think you lost it)
4: back end of the ventral part of the engineering hull needs to be pushed up a bit so it alines with saucer
5: secondary impulse need to slim down to streamline pylons
6: the three rods connecting the hull to the pylons is just a visual
7: main shuttle bay is more slanted and runway needs to be shortened
8: looks like it has 2 shuttle bays
9: 2 specific area on saucer that are missing windows
10: bussards are missing hull cover
but we all know STO will take like 10 years to fix this <<<<plz dont take 10 years ;_;
the all around graphics in game right now are fuzzy no matter what I do I cant change it.it was never like this before.its just hurting my eyes and ruining my ingame expereinse.
I totaly agree a lot of the Federation ships needs a facelift so they actually look like they did in the show, for example:
Galaxy, Sovereign, Defiant and Intrepid class and many other but there is one ship that looks not even close how she looked in the game it is hated but I would love to see the a canon Olymic class in the game and not this.
By the way can we please also have the real Nebula class that is basing on the studio model and not this let us save money thing and just rearrange what we have from the Galaxy class because those ships are different.
JamJamz and his team are doing a brilliant job in creating canon ships like the Ambassador class please give him the task to rework the existing ships.
This!
But i even dont know if the Devs still looking in this thread.
Nevermind i hope they fix lot of the current starships and brings them more to the iconic variants of the series and movies.
Most of the current starships lacks in textures, designs, missing object
The Fleet B'rel Retrofit still can't use the B'rotlh skin on it, while in the other hand it works on the lower Tier 5 B'rel Retrofit version.
And also the Fleet Windows on the Fleet Mogh will not work when trying to use the bent (Mogh) pylon option but it can work at the moment only on the stright (Fleet) pylon.
I'm not sure if this has been already reported, but:
The Ha'Feh (with Haakona parts) has its fore torpedo hardpoint not centered.
The Ha'Feh (you can see it in my signature), has 3 red hardpoints (I assume that they are torp launchers).
Well, torpedoes are fired only from the left one.
I'm not sure if it was intentionally or not.
Also, DHCs hardpoints are on its wing, but I see no visible hardpoints there
with crypticquack around, nows a good time to post a few things ive tried to draw attention to in the past.
fleet kamarang
the fleet kamarang neck has 2 issues. on 1 side there is a yellow glow in a small indent, on the other side there is not. below that in a small indent there is a twin torp launcher skin showing up, but again only on 1 side
when the game swaps to a lower quality model when your camera far enough away, the model it switches to for the ktinga looks better, has glowing engine and a glow on the front of it's 'mission pod' or whatever you want to call it. since the fleet ktinga is an end game ship now, i would really like the one i fly to look as good as that npc, when your far enough away from it
it appears the low and high quality model is switched. since our ship only displays the high quality model, we don't get to see glows, they are only visible on npcs when we are farther away from them. the ktinga model is by far the blandest, low quality model in game, these glows would go a long way toward making it more attractive.
fleet kdf vet ship
cant use the fleet skin. the part of the nacelle that extends out cant have the fleet skin aplied to it, so the rest of the ship cant have the fleet skin applied to it. you can mouse over it but not select it.
Varanus has a row of windows in the middle that do not change in the tailor, even though the rows above and below do change. In the pic below you can see the top and bottom rows (labeled "A") are fleet style, while the middle row (labeled "B") stays in the original.
The model that is used for the Vandal Destroyer / Scourge Destroyer has a row of windows right behind the top thruster. This is not viable work area since it would be hot as heck. Also, the hull in this area appears to be too thin to have any living or work areas, and it appears to just be thick enough to provide a cowling for the thruster. Either way, there should not be any windows there.
I'm finding some of the links in the original opening post aren't loading anymore, and it's been a while since I last suggested a Galaxy-class model update. So, for references of the Galaxy-class here's a couple of pages which have detailed photos of the Enterprise-D shooting model when it was put up for auction:
There's also some Nebula-class shooting model images, showing its differences to both the Galaxy-class model, and the later Nebula CGI kitbash; which the in-game Nebula was based around. Taken from various sources:
That gap is supposed to be there, there is one as well on the leading edge of the panel as well as all the other panels in that arrangement, it's part of the design.
The Federation Dyson Science Destroyer has a mip-mapping error in the saucer/hull/nacelle/pylon textures, a close ranges the ship appears normal but at a distance rather than switching to a low detail texture the skin reverts to a blank white untextured appearance, the only part appearing textured at distance is the variable deflector cover assembly at the front. I have not noticed this fault in the Klingon or Romulan variants.
The Galaxy Dreadnaught has the spinal lance, upper hull torpedo launcher assembly and canons displaced to port, this is not as pronounced when using the Venture costume, but is very noticeable on the stock Galaxy, the warp trail effect on the center nacelle is also off-center to port, these defects have been there for years.
On the Venture Galaxy costume, on the lower saucer there is a 10 degree arc where windows are missing entirely. This defect has also been there for years, and as I understand it these have to do with a couple numbers designating the position of a hardpoint axis not radically redesigning a model from scratch.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.

Something that has long bothered me, Where are the Impulse drives on the Nebula exactly, both on this and the STO model there doesn't appear to be any clear impulse engine ports
These are the Voyages on the STO forum, the final frontier. Our continuing mission: to explore Pretentious Posts, to seek out new Overreactions and Misinformation , to boldly experience Cynicism like no man has before.......

The ship, both the physical shooting model and the CGI version, doesn't have any visible impulse exhaust ports, Rick Sternbach postulated the following to explain away this issue:
A careful inspection of the Nebula-class model reveals that it has no visible impulse engines. In a recent entry on Doug Drexler's weblog, Rick Sternbach indicated that he envisioned the ship's impulse drives as being hidden behind baffles to scatter their signature for stealth reasons. He added that "modern" Starfleet vessel impulse engines operated on little conventional rocket thrust anyways, being more of a sub-warp subspace drive. Source.

Why can't we own 2 of the same ship?

Haj model does not have this problem, although the deflector is not perfectly positioned its at least close enough to be believable.
