So, there is going to be a three pack for each ship in the Cstore, so a total of 9 ships?
What are the Cstore ships going to look like? They posted that art sheet in the design blog, did any of those layouts make it to the Cstore pack? I liked some of them.
Why would the FED/KDF/ROM build in an alien bridge? I hope we can swap that thing out or I will never be visiting my bridge again.
I like the idea of this switching mode, not crazy about how we have to switch modes to get the ship; swell anniversary thank you - now if you could reach down and grab your....

Think of the designs this way: They took the three most advanced designs (the fleet versions of the Avenger, Mogh, and Arkif) and retrofitted sphere tech to them. If you look at them, it's pretty clear that's what they were going for. They aren't so much experimental as they are conversions.
The keyword is Hybrid. There is nothing about the bridges that makes it hybrid. It more looks like they took a couple of Obedisk taking whole parts and putting them together. Specifically the bridge.
The designers can't be creative to make a hybrid bridge?? They can make a ship.

By the way, there are plenty of people in this thread alone that thinks the same thing and have the same reaction. The artist or designers did not make a effort of making a default hybrid faction specific bridge.
From the pictures it appears to come with at least two materials one grey and one Obilesk white as I call it. The grey looks Klingon enough and the white looks fed enough with a bit if exotic to it.
With the Romulan one I'd use the reman shields for a more proper look.
My thoughts on the stats are this:
Its a really good sci ships, with the Rom clearly the best, followed by the Klingon, and finally the Fed, which is still a really good sci ship. It has the sci consoles to do fine at Sci powers, shields, plenty of Sci powers, even in tac mode.
It doesn't have 4 tac consoles, but the Proton DHCs have the equivilant one built in according to Gorngonzolla.
One interesting build that I thought of would be a Proton/Torp/cutting beam hybrid.
Here is my idea forward slots photon torpedo/gravitmetic photon torpedo/experimental proton weapon/(Solanae Proton Dual Heavy Cannons, in the back Kenetic Cutting Beam/Photon Mines/Photon Mines (maybe something else in place of the second mines).
Consoles Tac 3 Auto Targeting consoles (Photon), 3 Particle Generators for sci and the Proton Particle Stabilizer Console, and Eng 2 Fleet Elite RCS consoles.
That gives you 58% boost to your Proton weapons (more in the case of the DHC which has roughly the equivlant to a purple mark XII tac console inherant), 82.3 buff to photon projectiles, a buff to Accurancy as well, 10% to crit severity, and 13% crit extra crit chance for photon weapons and 3% for everything else.
I don't know for certain if the epw works with subsystem targeting or not, but it seems to. I know its not listed as effecting it, so if anyone has tested it and found out please share.
I could fire Gravity well three as well as other sci abilities and then transforming into tac mode for the coup de grace.
I'd go with 3 torp doffs and if one can get the 6th space doff active slot, 3 enigeering team doffs to make up for the weak hull and lack of enigeering boff powers.
Honestly they sound like the most fun sci ships since the Vesta.
But we must know if we get a customizable bridge, or if we're stuck with only one unpopular default. And I simply refer to all the bridges we have by default on Fed ships as well as all the bridges we've bought. Because immersion and customizability is important to me (as it should be in an RPG), and having only one choice for interior is a deal-breaker for me and many others. It's ultimately a Fed ship, not a pure alien ship like the Obelisk, so we shouldn't have only one alien bridge option. Please let us know.

Once more, I'll reiterate what has been said a couple of times already. We're stuck with the new bridge until they bring in another patch which will allow us to use the faction specific bridges that we already have access to.
I for one will keep the ship as is. I like the look of the bridge.
So the C-Store ships have unique materials, but the Anniversary versions will get them as well?
I think he meant if you buy the c-store versions you can then use the material variants on the anniversary version as well.
Also yay for bridges. Can't say i'm a fan of the Obelisk-type bridge, sorry. Doesn't make sense in-universe (in my mind) for Starfleet, KDF and the Romulans to make the interior of these ships any different from their normal ships.
I prefer a faction bridge myself, but I don't spend much time on it anyways but the Obelisk bridge would be much easier to do your tasks in one room.
Skins? as in ship structure? or materials as in veteran, etc... The latter will be available with the c-store variants according to an earlier dev post.
Yes, I read that. I was asking about current materials such as the vet materials.
I would love to be able to have my veteran material available... I miss having it on the Atrox as well.
I can't wait to get started on earning these ships... It's been a long time sine I was happy with a Science ship. I usually put my Sci capts on escorts with more science slots.

Kickass awesome ships. I really like their looks and abilities, and I appreciate the effort that you guys must've put into them. Thanks a bunch, devs!
Concerns: These three separate C-store bundles--will they be 5000 ZEN apiece? Because that's DEFINITELY going to cause some heads to explode with rage--mine included. It screws over free players (like myself, although admittedly I'm going to be going LTS sometime next year, when my finances are more stable) and seems an awful lot like a craven money hog.
Also, will the secondary deflector count for the set bonus in tac mode?
They were 5000 zen each bundle when the Bort and Ody came out right after they gave away the free version at the 2nd anniversary. No reason why these would be different. Three ships, $25 each or $50 for all three. That's how all of the bundles work - Scimitar, Andorian, Vesta. Why do people think these ones would be less, or even should be?
Oh, and its 3 3-ship bundles. So one bundle per faction with different placement of the consoles (eng, sci, tac, etc) people are still not understanding whats going on apparently.
So buy one bundle for 5000 zen - you get 3 romulan ships
buy another bundle for 5000 zen - you get 3 fed ships
etc
there is no 'buy a bundle for ship on each faction' option. Want them for all 3 factions? grind now for the 9 console or pay $150 for the 10 console release.
bravo cryptic. bravo
I don't think we should assume anything about the bundle costs yet. Yes, usually a 3 ship bundle was 5000 zen or $50.00 per ship set. Cryptic has never released 3 ship bundles simultaneously like this before. These ships (all 9) are basically variants of each other. It is possible that maybe there will be a Mega-Bundle containing all 9 variants at a reduced price like 10,000 zen or $100. We just don't know and I'll save the flame wars for when the pricing is actually released.

"The C-store ships we mentioned in yesterday?s Anniversary Rewards blog come with neither the warp core nor the secondary deflector that are mentioned above. If you are interested in the warp core or the secondary deflector, especially to use them in the two different 4-piece set bonuses available (first with the Anniversary event and the second from the C-store bundles next month), make sure to complete the 4-year anniversary reputation project for each character."
Still wont waste the time grinding for it, try telling your spouse Happy Anniversary, now go outside, cut the lawn, wash the car and maybe you will get dinner if you finish in time. BS

Yeah that pretty much sums it up. I sometimes think they forget the content drought and all the bugs and frustrating experiences players went through and still they cared enough to continue to support the game and keep the dev's in a job. They would never had gotten the opportunity to expand their production team much less stay employed without the loyal support of players.
I like anyone else understands they don't have to throw an anniversary event, but seriously promoting these free ships that you have to work for. Then offer c-store versions that aren't equal in abilities and seem the only reason anyone might buy them are for the skin options (and maybe a console or two).
This is a pretty low blow by the people in charge.
Support the Game by Supporting the KDF, equality and uniqueness for all factions!
Just saying you should not call these ships as rewards as they are not rewards.
"Something given or received in return or recompense for service, merit, hardship, etc." Rewards meaning taken from the dictionary!
A anniversary reward should be just that. A reward ! For one more year of hardships and a good way to thank you fans. Another 15days of Q grind for it is just pissing a lot of ppl off.
Thanks for the long reply and answers to all of our questions, Phil.
I'm very glad that the C-Store variants will have other hull materials availible and that probably pushed me into deciding of getting the KDF bundle when they come to the C-Store. I wasn't sure about this hull material, but since I'll be able to make my ship look really Klingon I guess my KDF Joined Trill deserved a top-notch sci.ship after all this time.
I quoted this part of your post because I wanted to commend you guys on the decision to keep those different thematic twists to the ships. Each faction gets a special flavor when flying their ship and that's a very good thing! To many of us, that means a lot and makes things a bit more spicy and interesting as oposed to carbon-copies.
So really, thank you for this decision!
I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable complaining about virtual items in a video game, but here you go:
I'm not overly exited. Fed ship is worst (most alien) looking among the three (as others already mentioned), and also no cloak and the smallest crew by a wide margin*. Not to mention the alien bridge which I would seriously never want to visit (I guess the reason for it is that this way the devs didn't have to create three separate bridges).
At the end of the day, I will get the fed ship because as a newer player the daily mission don't bother me much. I will also start a new romulan character to get the (great looking, IMO) romulan ship (though first I need to buy some character slots).
So, interesting concept and all, but I wish the devs would kept the 'alien' factor a bit more at bay.
On the other hand, I'm exited about the new game mechanics and revamped fed missions.
*After reading back a few pages, it seems that the smaller crew is actually better? Doesn't make much sense to me, but anyway.
Well that is a load of..... So if one can't get the time to grind, or refuse to do so because they don't like how you've changed the event into another grind they still miss out on the fancy options on the c-store version. May I ask what is the point putting them in the c-store then anyway? No one in their right mind would buy the c-store versions if they aren't at least on par with the grind versions (can't call them free as you have to grind for them).
Seriously what are you thinking? Makes no sense, the pack is going to sell worse than the Bortas'qu pack.
um.... the C-store versions are going to be 10 console ships, so techincally better than the "grind" version. the only thing you will lack by just getting the c-store set is the 4 peice set bonuses

remember PWE wasnt in charge at the time, and well, Cryptic has to do basically what PWE says. so blame it all on PWE, not Cryptic. This was all planed out well in advance of the EP change.
even if you exchanged out the DHC for a few extra k of hp, it still isnt worth it on the fed side tbh. clearly these ships are locked in and probably won't be altered, however the c-store ships designs can still be altered. one thing i would request is that the DHC slot be removed and replaced with an all purpose weapons slot up front, and a buff to hp, that there would at least make the ship worth enough to get on par with other science type ships and tac escorts.
people like to build their own ship designs, not pre build around limited options. for example i dont like cannon builds at all, and having DHC upfront is a wasted slot for me when i want to broadside.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
