You jest but every word in that post made me want it to happen even more.

Yes!!! God I remember this ship from sfc2. Remember the romulan and Klingon battleships from that game. The romulan was called the king condor I believe.

All said and done my hat is off to you sir :)

Thankyou sir. I never played SFC2 cept for the stand alone Orion Pirates. I remember getting enough rep to have a squadon of 3. Man the carnage I could rip using those 3.

I miss the SFC2 games. Need to find them again.

The typhoon is a old level 40 ENG cruiser. I just decommissioned mine for a dreadnought. So do you really want another level 40 ship for anniversary.

The Typhoon and Jupiter never have been available for us since they have just been npc ships. The only level 40 Cruisers are the Star Cruiser, Assault Cruiser, and a couple of retrofits.

I'd like a 25th century version of the Proxima Refit from ST: Legacy. I miss Cannon Broadsiding targets into submission. Plus it was a sexy design.

    Typhoon +1

    PLEASE JUST NOT ALIEN.
The Typhoon maybe with a lot of work, the design does have some possibilities, the Jupiter though is just too ugly, no matter you do to it, it looks like a big fat jumble of parts more suited to be a freighter.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Sovereign or Odyssey Nebula like science ship, the Odyssey's dual dorsal is just about made for a dual lower engine nacelle arrangement.

But I will say one thing, ENOUGH WITH THE ALIEN TRIBBLE, it's Star Trek, not Babylon 5.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.

Didn't some interview or something say the Anniversary Event was going to tie back to Sphere Of Influence? If that is the case, plus three factions to build for, then I'd guess something cross-faction (so they only have to make one) in the aesthetic of the Obelisk. Maybe a sci ship with a flight deck to encourage a few more sales of the Advanced Obelisk for the console.

What about member races? Remember Earth isnt the only member of the federation and the Vulcans, Tellarites, Andorians, etc were still producing their own ships.

Klingon EMpire? Well they've got Gorn (who have their own ships), Orions (who have their own ships), Naussican (who have their own ships), Ferasan (who have their own ships), and Letheans.

Alien races exist in Trek and have their own ships. Maybe someone would rather play as a member of the Vulcan Science Council. Plus as far as I see, the majority of players use Fed or KDF ships anyways. Seeing the other ships makes me go "Oh, there are peopel besides starfleet with ships. That's nice, we're a Federation of Planets."

I would like to start seeing more new ships with clear influences of enemy technology. Like the Avenger and Mogh, ships that look to be competing in the arms race that comes with every conflict. They can expand on this idea and incorporate all the other hostile races past and present.

    - A new Romulan ship actually incorporating Borg technology, perhaps from scraps of research from the Star Empire

    - A KDF science ship taking inspiration from Breen designs.

    - A carrier or flight deck cruiser for the Feds taking a page out of Dominion designs perhaps?

These are just examples but you get the idea, not only is the influence visible in the stats of such ships but I'd love to see visual inspirations too.

Probably just me, but seeing as I adore KDF and Breen ship designs seeing a mashup of the two done right would look awesome :)

It will most likely be a crossfaction ship like the Obelisk. Don't get me wrong, the Obelisk is a nice ship, but I would like something faction specific.

By that I mean one ship for Fed, one for KDF and one for the Romulans.

The Romulans got no unique ship in "Temporal Ambassador"', so I think it's bout time they got one for the anniversary. What you all think of that?

I don't care what the ship is, just as long as it has a round saucer. No egg shapes, no triangular ones, just a round saucer. Even a semi circular saucer would be great.

It's their shielding which peeks my interest.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Have never played SFC.

Still rooting for Warship Voyager, but the Dauntless is the most likely candidate.

There is only one ship suitable for this year's anniversary:

If we assume the following constraints based on Cryptic's behavior for ship giveaways past:

    - No T5 Connie or Miranda
    - No licensed "other Star Trek game" ships
    - Somehow related to new content or canonical reference (Temporal Ambassador, the Ody/Bortas giveaway mission)
    - Not a reissue of previous giveaways

The Dauntless seems to make the most sense, at least for feds. KDF might get an original design like the Kamarag to match, and who knows, the Romulans might even get a nod.

It's canonical, it's reasonably pretty, it's a reference to STO's current emphasis on Delta Quadrant content, and it has several gimmicks that they could build a fancy console around, like Arturis' "Particle Synthesis" or some kind of enhanced Quantum Slipstream deal.

As for what I WANT to see (not that I mind the Dauntless), I'd like to see 3 ships, one for each faction. Cryptic can decide what ship it'll be, but ideally they could fill some perceived deficiency in the lineup. Like science ships for the KDF and Romulans or a carrier for Feds.

Alternatively, a ship that teases a new mechanic for the escorts, destroyers and raptors, which can do for that set of ships what Flanking will do for Raiders and Cruiser Commands did for Cruisers. No idea what that would be, but Escorts' old "calling card" - the ability to equip dual cannons alongside bonus weapon power and decent turn rate - is no longer distinct enough.

For the Roms, I'm hoping for a nice sized ship, not the gigantic dump trucks you see at the RA level. I want more something Ak'rif sized. Small, tactical, sleek looking.

I would love to see a T5 Exiter... though that's probably not in the cards either. :\

It'd be nice if the Romulans had the T5 version of the Ambassador. The ambassador class is really something which could be made available to federation, Klingons and Romulans due to kithomer incident.

That ship has sailed though. The Prometheus class is already ingame or that could have been an interesting one for at least Romulans and Federation.

This leaves the Daunless and some D7 variant as the most likely candidates.
